Thanks Rob, really appreciate this. Going to play this for my wife of 21 yrs for Valentine’s Day “Built my life around you” ♥️ Never played a whole song to anybody before! This really helps. Keep up the great work fella. 👍
Since i dont fingerpick much, ive been doing your 5, 2, 4, 3 pattern that you showed us in your other clip. I am probably driving my neighbors mad with the constant sound of the same strings being played, but that is how i get my head around it. First day was a fumbling mess. I could do it. Slowly. But not more than once without messing up. Even when i did it slowly. So ive been doing it for 4 days in a row now and the 5, 2, 4, 3 bit is almost on automatic as long as i dont go too fast. Iv been trying to do it a couple of times a day a few minutes at a time. I does get easier. I am adding in the bass notes now as i dont want to train my fingers to only do it without changing bass notes. And once again its a fumbling mess. The one thing i can take forward is that it will get easier and i have to start slow. Not rushing into it when the fingres want to go faster as that is when i mess up eventually. Then i hear this and it sounds like it would be possible considering what i have been doing with my fingers so far. For me this fingerpicking is like any mechanical skill you want to memorize. You have to drive your fingers mad with repetition till your brain gets so bored it goes on automatic.
Great tutorial. Not only easy to understand but I love your humor thrown in. I appreciate that you help beginners like me feel capable of playing some great tunes. Thanks so much!
This is really nice and also fun!! Thank you so much Rob, i watched a bunch of other tutorials but this is the best one also in combination with the charts you made.
Another fantastic lesson Rob. I learnt this few years ago, i now know the little links between verses thank you 👍. The lead he plays i learnt by ear, would be great if you could do lesson on that section. Also a sultans of swing lesson, (the easier way capoat 5th i think). 🙏
Hey Rob, great tutorial! I know you did this a year ago, but I’m just seeing it now. Towards the end of verse 2, it sounds like Lindsey Buckingham adds a ringing high note to the song and I was wondering if you could confirm and explain how he’s doing that. Sorry if this is a repeat comment, but it wasn’t displaying on my screen. Thanks in advance!!
Just learning guitar at 67 and loving your tutorials! Thx!
I like your way of teaching Rob. Your the best guitar teacher online.
Hi Rob... The music has landed..! 👍🏻
Your teaching method is fantastic! I’ve actually been able to move forward. Thank you so much!
