This may be an American song, but who in America could play it to this high standard.Perfect arrangement, precision playing. The London bands of this period take some beating
I know, it's sad, I'm 22 and I listen to this type of music. I've liked this music since I was 14 years old. Old music is a lot better than the much of the music we have today.
Love it - one of my very favourite songs of the 20's and the BEST version, beautifully executed by JH! Male singers with these lyrics still sounds a little odd but was apparently perfectly normal back in the 20's.
If its naughty to rouge your lips, Shake your shoulders, and Twist your Hips. Let a lady Confess, I want to be bad. If its naughty to Vamp the Men, Sleep each morning til after ten, Then the answer is, Yes I want to be bad The thing of being a good little goodie is all very well What can you do if you're loaded with plenty of hell- Th- and vigor? When you're learning what lips are for If its naughty to ask for more Let a Lady confess, I want to be Bad!
I know the bits of driving are from "Driving Around New York City, (aka Speedy)" but what is the name of the film with the people dancing? Does anyone know?
@@clivestewart3224 - Are you sure? Follow Thru "was the second all-color all-talking feature to be produced by Paramount Pictures". Did someone take a color film and convert it to black-and-white? I skimmed thru the whole movie (ua-cam.com/video/gup7kdIy4fE/v-deo.html) (skimming by seeing one frame from every 10 seconds or so) and saw only one dance scene - certainly not the dance scenes shown in this video to Breakaway.
I love the music from this era. It may be old but you never get bored of listening to it!
Those were the glory days man

My favorite version of this song! Love it :)
Delightful
Loved it with that nice Jack Hylton film clip.
The driver is Harold Lloyd, I was a friend of his daughter Peggy, when I lived in California.
amazing that people don't know one of America's first and greatest comedy stars...
"people" can't locate Florida on a map
Very pleasing
Great Jack Hylton ..he gave a tremendous impresion in Barcelona during the EXPO of 1929

He stopped loading videos a long, long time ago
This song was featured in an early American 'Talkie' called "Follow Thru"
I just watched it, here on UA-cam in color. Better version than this one.
at 41 seconds pretty sure that's Frank Morgan in the films Broadway to Hollywood, MGM, 1934
interesting, but the discographies can be wrong. To my ears the trumpet solo is by Philippe Brun and the trombone solo can be Leo Vauchant.
Thanks agan.
doesn't anyone but me recognize the man in the back seat at 1:45?
Joe Harkins he sure does look familiar but I can’t place his name
Joe Harkins wait it’s Babe Ruth??
Most definitely Babe Ruth.
Wow, Anette Hanshaw's version is nice but this is grand orchestration. :)
I seem to hear bits of Hot Voodoo in the music, and I never knew that they were doing the Bump in the early 30s.
Who's the dancing guy with the top hat at 0:38? Does anybody know?
JAMES CAGNEY!!!
It's Eddie Qiillan from the movie "From Broadway to Hollywood
.45 ...is that Harold Lloyd playing The Crazy Nut?!

Is the guy bouncing in the car at 1:48 Babe Ruth? It looks like him.
Absolutely!
I wish the women in my surroundings were as vivacious as those chorus girls.

Great Grandma was young once and no different from today's youth.
