It's interesting that we are playing and enjoying these classics from 1930. Thinks... I wonder how many of today's songs will still be sung and played with affection in eighty odd years time??
In the future people will have exactly the same thoughts about today's music as people have with music from the 30s now. _"Music from the 2020s was so much better, I was born in the wrong era, artists today don't know how to make music anymore, etc"_
@@yyosh4762 This could be right, it could be wrong. As for me, I only like music from 100 years ago because of the fact that there are so many more interesting parts melodically and harmonically. Today's music has the same 4 chords, and as I like to call it "talking to a beat." There are actually plenty of modern pop songs I like because of its emotional connection I have or it sounds good. For me, it's not about the past, present, or future. It's "how good does it sound to me?"

Can anyone identify the vocalist, please? In this period, vocals were normally either Sam Browne or Jack Hylton himself, sometimes in a trio with other musicians in the band. This is the first time I've heard the verse to this song; it has been very rarely featured by anyone else.

The arrangements are so good. Not only that, the musicians playing them are phenomenal too, that trombonist killed it!
I own a copy of this one! It’s one of my all-time favorite Jack Hylton records; love how smooth it sounds!
Do you know where I could find one ?
Jack was great, best band in the UK in WW 2, thank you for keeping him going.
Jack was good but nobody competes to Ray Noble, especially when Al sang with him 😌 I Will always Love all the British bands of the 20s through 40s...
Marvelous.....
Oh - so good!
So good

@@yyosh4762 though I wasn't born in that era and even I think the new songs will be forgotten. Maybe I just have old taste

@@siddharthsen7035 You're right!
My guess is none but they will still be playing this one. The classics are timeless.
Great recording. I love Hylton around 1929/30!

Sam Browne is Taking the Refrain here.
Let's give some credit to the composer, Fats Waller.
Very enjoyable. Rosa Larsen
