To be fair its a great mattress - just pricey. And like any air mattress you have to squish all the air out and then it rolls neatly back up into the bag.
I went wild camping in Scotland last year in my model 3. My mattress was a memory foam, 3 shaped pieces (middle and 2 sides) and folded into a bag the size of the lower boot. Was very comfy, better than a tent. Though camp mode is v noisy so not sure I would use it in a campsite with neighbours . Personally I tend to avoid anything inflatable because you can never deflate them enough to put it back in the bag it came from.
Tesla car camping, is it a pain in the hole or the new sliced loaf? I think it depends on YOU, what your expectations are and how much effort you want to put in. I’m a Tesla model Y owner who is 53 years old from Ireland. Like you I’m used to certain comforts at this time in my life and while I’m still fit enough to go hiking, windsurfing and mountain biking I usually want a hot shower and a comfortable bed at the end of an aching day. It was only when I wanted to go to an event where I couldn’t book accommodation in a 60 mile radius that I even considered sleeping in my car. When i went to look, I had 95% of the basic camping gear I needed and I got by without buying blinds for the car using a eye black out mask. Yes, you will need a solution for blinds and the sunroof for privacy, but it’s probably about the only thing I’ll need to buy and once you have it you have it. We car camped, cooked and even showered in our little shower tent without any issue. We were self sufficient and comfortable for the full two days. Some other folk had the same idea in ICE vehicles, but drew long disapproving stares from others constantly idling their cars for warmth. By contrast we had Netflix, climate control and heated seats! So yes, it’s very much worth it. I was assisted by the fact I had more camping gear in my possession than a Halfords store, but I am going to invest in camping blinds for the Model Y and seek a better mattress solution. I used an old thermos cooler box and a bag of ice from the supermarket for cooling food stuffs and drinks. I wonder have you checked out the U.K. Tesla car camping Face book group? Don’t forget there a lot of 22kwh chargers in Scotland that are free to use in out of the way places! P.S, if you have kids they will love camping in the car, I did this with my son and it’s definitely built lasting memories for both of us.
@@justgetatesla If something gets skipped over, there's a reason for it IMO... I was going to buy one of these mattresses (not necessarily this brand, and from the USA) but I have crappy lungs (COPD) and there's no way I could blow it up, and I could not use the Ryobi tyre inflator I carry on long trips. As for the pillows falling down, I have a solution for that - it is the exact spot that I carry my space saver spare tyre. It fill the hole very well - in fact maybe too well ;-)
Damn it!! Fifty six years ago we only had a Hillman Imp. Don't you dare complain. Great video, thank you.
Me too.
Credit to you for not giving a blanket 'great' review of a free product
A very good honest review 👏
Nice review, big respect for the honesty.
I would love to see you try and fit that back into the bag!

@@justgetateslaif there’s no video it didn’t happen 😂. Really needed to see it being put away in the video.

Not this product! Lean on it enough to squeeze the air pockets out and it rolls back up into a small bag.
Forget the window shades. All you need is a good quality elasticated eye shade (airplane style) much cheaper and easier

Interesting post with a lot of food for thought - thanks!
Should have had a tyre valve on it so you could use the nice electric pump that came with the Tesla ...
Surely that’s not how you blow it up
If its not, I'd love to know how? Opening one valve only does nothing. On their website there is a video which skips over that part...

Please how much did you buy your Tesla I have interest please
Is it not selfinflatable
They’ll self inflate if you just let it.
Sorry but you need help
Are you going to rescue me?
@justgetatesla Definitely no lol seriously I don't think that mattress is expensive you can pay £100 for mats.
Sure! Cost is subjective. Personally I wouldn’t, but I know you can
