A wise old woman once told me "You wouldn't worry so much about what other people think about you if you realized how seldom they do." That was life-changing advice for me and has served me well over the years.
Corey and Austin were so sweet with their baby announcement! Everyone says how it is love at first sight with your grandchildren! Having many grand children myself (11), I also repeat that love is the only thing that grows larger within you the more you give it away!❤
Something my grandma said and that I say often is, “if it’d been a snake it’d bit you” talking about looking for something and just overlooking it. I’m famous for doing that!😀
I was outside last night letting our sweet doggie do her business. It was about 1am…the stars were so bright and all the summer insects were singing their night songs. Even heard our neighborhood owl hooting in the distance. Perfection. It brought back so many memories from childhood camp-outs with my cousins in the backyard. 😊
I'm bad to allow myself to become envious of what others have...I'm constantly reminding myself to be content with what I have because there's people allover the world that have so much less. Even just thinking of our grandparents or great grandparents generations and what they had to make due with. That puts things in perspective real quick! 🙏
I am almost about to turn middle aged and the one thing I love about getting older is being grateful and realizing you have everything you need. ...I don't like hearing rich or powerful people always complaining about their lot in life and thinking they have been hard done by.......When you are middle-aged and feel you need a mansion, a pool, a holiday house in France and a fancy car and are still not happy then there is something wrong with you.......By all means I encourage people to be successful but if you have so much money that you don't know what to do with it all then start looking at options to donate that money to charities in the U.S. or overseas.
The incect sound that is the most prominent in my mind is the cicada at the end of summer. Always when the kids would go back to school and the house and yard were quiet the sound of the cicadas it feel like a lonesome end to summer.
I'm a psychologist, sometimes songs have profound lyrics I like to share with others: "So oftentimes it happens that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we have the key."-Eagles.
wisdom: I'm not sure if I picked this up somewhere or created it myself, but I used to tell my once stubborn son. "Don't burn down a bridge that you may need to cross again."

Tell him from a Veteran's widow Thank You from the bottom of my heart for his willingness to keep our country free and safe. It's the measure of a man when they step up to their calling regardless of what that calling is. Love and prayers. T.

Congratulations Grandma & Grandpa! Such exciting times for your family! It must be so wonderful to have both your daughters close by and now to be a daily part of your Grandchildrens' lives. It's the way I have always believed it should be. We've lost so much of that in todays' world. Families live so far apart and miss so much! As always enjoyed the video!!
Congratulations Tipper on the birth of your newest Grandbaby! He is so precious! The Love you have for you have for your Grandbabies is a different kind of Love! Its So special and heartwarming! But you just have to experience it to know, I bet you know what I'm talking about! The little ones are so Lucky to have Grandparents like you and Matt! God bless you all! From the piedmont of N.C
I am so glad to hear Corey had her baby and things went so good for her. Saleah had such a hard birth with Davian I haven’t said anything. (She waited to long so no epidural) She burst the veins in her eyes and they were bloody for the last month. She also burst little pin point size veins all around her neck and across her forehead. I am in Missouri (Kansas City area), and we been having good rain off and on all day today with very cool weather to go along with it. Hopefully, the rain will come your all's way soon. ❤
It finally rained here after like a month and a half of zero rain. Thank goodness for it. My poor gardens really needed it just like everyone else’s. The temperature broke last night with the thunderstorm. Was a beautiful day today. Just beautiful. I harvested some ripe tomatoes yellow squash cucumbers basil and dill and found 7 baby watermelons growing AND some baby butternuts❤ Congratulations on Grandson Little Woody!
Tipper, I enjoy watching you & listening to your channel. It’s been several months now & I just realized why I enjoy it so much. Your eyes remind me of my Moma’s eyes. She died from leukemia in 1991. Watching you brings me comfort. Congratulations on your babies! We have 11 grands & one great grand now. That includes one set of twins. Everyone needs at least one set of twins for the experience! Lol. You are going to think you have another set of twins with Ira and Woody. Love their names. So happy for all your family! God bless ya’ll!!
We got done good rain yesterday. Finally. Here in SE VA! You can actually smell and feel the cleansing. I’m so excited to watch you and Matt and the love you as your heart grows for those babies! May God bless them and keep them safe. Forever and always!
yes let's do Monday wisdom. This was so good. Such a good reminder now that I'm in the grandparent years and I can focus on life more peacefully thank you thank you thank you.
I live in eastern N.C. We are from Roanoke area and so many things you say sound like home. When our kids married from around here we knew we would not move back. It is flat here with no hills. But the mountains will always be home. One saying I heard from around here that I had not heard before was “where do you stay” which I finally found out meant “where do you live”. There were others but that was the one that was so different. I finally figured out that the food seems to change from the mountains to the plains, not from state to state. Chicken and dumplings became chicken and pastry, cornbread is always fried, and a dumpling is made from cornbread in a pot of collards, which I had never had before. But all of it is good eating no matter how it is cooked. Love to the babies!
Thank you Tipper for sharing these, I love you Monday lives and really enjoy all the words of wisdom. One today reminded me of something one of my Aunts would say to us as kids, she's say you can't fix yesterday and you can't control tomorrow, just concentrate on today and do the best you can with what today has for you.
Some of my favorite female country/bluegrass singers are Kitty Wells and Iris Dement. Dement’s version of Leaning on the Everlasting Arms is my favorite. And the video on you tube is really sweet. Of course, I love Loretta, Dolly, Tanya Tucker and the angel’s voice of Alison Krauss. I just swell with pride to hear Rhiannon Giddens because she is from NC too. Pretty bird and Wayfaring Stranger get me every time. There are too many to count! Have a good week Tipper. Still looking for rain over here. ☔️
Good morning! Beautiful day in our part of NC! Got some much needed rain yesterday and last night! God is so good! Enjoying the wisdom! I know y’all are loving on the newest grandson! God bless y’all! 😀❤️
WORDS OF WISDOM When I was a little boy and like little boys do. I'd say Granny where ya been or what ya doing? She'd say son keep your nose out of my butter or sometimes she'd say son butter your own toast and I'll butter mine. Never in a mean way but in sweet speak. I can also remember my momma and all my aunts say it to one another, kinda in a joking way. But it's good advice never the less.
Hello from North West Michigan ❤ Congratulations on the new blessings in your beautiful family ! It’s been cold so far this summer up here kinda envying your warmth lol
My granddad was a very quite man. His words of wisdom. To be seen stand up,to be heard speak up but to be appreciated shut up. We always had to be still and listen when were there. Granddad told many stories and we enjoyed everyone.
Wisdom: When I was younger I used to try to be what I thought others wanted me to be . The Lord impressed upon me , " If I spend all my time being somebody else, then who'll spend time being me?" Love your channel and the encouraging content you share. I feel like you're my neighbor. God Bless You.
Congratulations on the birth of your second grandson! Praying for Corie & little Woodrow to get plenty of rest & to continue in good health. God bless you all.🙏🏻🙏🏻
My garden is doing pretty . We've been getting blueberries, zucchini, cucumbers, and radishes for a few weeks now. Just started picking jalapeños and made fried green tomatoes tonight, they were so good! I'm currently fighting Japanese beetles for the first time. They are tearing my blueberry bushes up. Another year, another bug lol
Apparently, lots of theaters are open on Christmas. Our family didn't do it, but I have worked with people who made it part of their Christmas routine to go see a movie on Christmas day. As always this was a good video. Thanks for posting.
I don’t know where I heard this, but when I am upset about something I try to think if this is going to be a problem for 5 hours or 5 years and then decide if it’s really worth being upset about. Most of the things that make people mad won’t even be remembered in 5 years (or even 5 days).
I put up corn today! My dad grew it! He will be 83 Christmas Day! He plants enough for a big family! He put up about 40 ears and it is just him we put up 48 just for myself and my husband. I eat fried corn but not corn on the cob and I don’t eat much corn. I like tomatoes best and okra. I finally got some Cherokee tans to come up! I put them in pots for now, to keep them save from all the critters! I plant on putting them in the ground after they get the 2 leaf. My husband built a mobile coop and we ordered 40 baby chicks, a Rhode Island mix of some sort. They are a buff color about like a orange tabby cat. They are about 3 weeks old and we lost 2 last night a raccoon pulled them out the tiny wired holes! I made blackberry jam and more to do in the morning! And maybe can tomatoes tomorrow! We have the youngest grand baby too tomorrow so it will be hard to do but her Pop may keep her occupied! Maybe! Blueberries need picking and our snake beans are about done! No okra but it is coming! Squash about done peas are just any day now! Busy time around here and everywhere that a garden is!
We love Big Boy tomatoes. The famous Hanover Tomato from Hanover county Va. are Big boys and Better boys mixed. That’s the main tomato planted in Virginia. To me they are the only ones to use for mater sandwiches as we call them.
Congratulations on the wonderful grandson!❤ I struggle a lot with insomnia, and now I'm listening to your reading of Sindey Saylor Farr for the third time, because then at least the waiting time for sleep is pleasant.😄♥️ I just received my copy of the book because I love it and realized I had to have it in my book collection. I also( finally) became too curious about the chapters you left out in you reading😂 (which I, btw, totally respect❤).
We moved here, Texas Panhandle, from NW Pennsylvania four years ago. Talk about climate shock! We have been working hard at having a successful garden. It is not easy!
I remember that video of Over in the Graveyard from one of the girl's post. Loved they walked away together at the end. They also mentioned redoing it too. I hope they do because it was so special I still think about it.
When my parents were going somewhere and we would ask she’d say two different things 1 I’m going to fix a pair of fitten fitches by the time you figure that out I’ll be back. 2 are you writing a book? Then leave that chapter out please. Congratulations again on the arrival of your new Grandson. Brooks, Oregon
We got a 1/2 inch of rain this morning here in eastern NC. Thats makes one inch in the last 6 weeks. Thank God i have a good supply of well water. Everything is coming off now. I've had the best bell peppers I've ever had but the worst arsh taters.
Ola Belle Reed was born in Lansing, NC on August 18, 1916. Lansing is in Ashe County. I’m from Lansing too! There is an Ola Belle Reed Festival in Lansing every year …this year it will be August 3, 1924.
Oh my i cant believe you mentioned Ola Bell Reed! She and her brother Alec campbell used to put a shoe on the local radio station here. They broadcast from the back of their little store called Campbells corner. I went there on Saturdays to watch them play and sing! Very talented misicians.
I looked up Ola Belle Reed and found that there is an annual Ola Belle Reed music festival in Lansing, NC on August 3rd. There is also a folk group named Olabelle after her
Congratulations on little Woodrow ! Glad your garden is doing well. My husband is 82 and doesn’t have much vision. My neighbor brought me some fresh tomatoes and I gave her eggs as usual. Sure wish I lived close enough to come to your signing of your cook book. I did order one. Can’t wait for it to arrive. All the family is gone on . I really do miss all the pickin and grinning. Funny saying- my dad wore a toboggan on his head in the winter. My husband rode a toboggan down the icy hills in the winter! I’m always saying something about my gown tale.
It sounds like yalls garden doing good tipper and Matt has got to beautiful grand baby and when someone says something ugly let go in one ear and out other ear and have a blessed Tuesday everyone 💕
Hi Tipper. So happy for y'all with the new Baby Woody. What a blessing. I have two quotes for you. The mightiest oak in the forest was just a little nut that held its ground. Never give up....Moses was also once a basket case! Have a great week and kiss that precious baby for me. ❤
The Katydids live in trees as cicadas do, but you hear them sing from twilight to daybreak. Cicadas or Jar fly are singing from morning and day long until twilight. 😊 Got August 3rd jotted down in my calendar. Good time to drive down to Alexander's, right after payday. I'm excited to get to meet you dear lady. Hope you drag that scoundrel husband along with you. Like to meet him as well.
We had tstorms early this morning, but a lot of mybkeaves are still yellowing in the garden. Yes, we are planning to see the Sound of Hope Weds! 😊 Love those sayings, and rhe one rhat said the more you got the more u have to take care of, is another reason im trying to declutter and have less. We call them butter knives and robes, hee. Always enjoy your talks, Ms Tipper! ❤🌻🌱 Have a blessed Holiday week and enjoy the grandbabies! 🥰🇺🇲🎆
I love the simplicity and clean living that shows through these videos. It’s wonderful to witness the growth of your family and know all of you love the Lord. I love the Appalachian mountains. Hope you have a good day and stay cool. God bless you and your families.
I've been spending a lot of time watering. It's been so dry in Southern Ohio. Praying for rain!!! So happy for you all and glad the babies are doing well! What a double blessing for you all.
A wise old woman once told me "You wouldn't worry so much about what other people think about you if you realized how seldom they do." That was life-changing advice for me and has served me well over the years.

I just found out I am going to be a grandpaw to a baby girl
Congratulations!
Hi,Have a nice evening
My Granny said"sweep off your own front porch before you judge others".❤
Amen 🙏
I love it! So true
Actually we don't ever need to judge anyone.
My dad always said "Don't pray for rain if you're going to complain about the mud".
Congratulations to you both on the safe arrival of little Woody. A wonderful playmate for Ira. ❤🇬🇧
Something my grandma said and that I say often is, “if it’d been a snake it’d bit you” talking about looking for something and just overlooking it. I’m famous for doing that!😀
I love tomato sandwiches. I like mine simple with tomatoes, mayo, salt and pepper.
Me too!!🍅🍅

Prayers for Landon, my daughter just retired from the military
I was gifted a shirt that says "pull your own weeds". Referencing matthew 7:3 and also my daddy would say, sissy, don't worry about things you ain't got no control over. He was so wise.
Love that!
My Mamaw from Eastern KY would always say “Now children, this table’s gonna travel” if the kitchen table was messy, like it was packing up to go on a trip! Thought you might like that one! 😊
Love that!
We were always told when the Kadydids chirp so loudly it means a hot day is ahead.
Oh I am so excited for Cori & Austin with their precious Woodrow Scott "Woody" Debbie from NEWPORT NEWS, VA
Really enjoy these Monday lives.

Welcome to your new grandson! Your girls are wonderful Moms! Grandchildren are the very best blessings! ❤️❤️
The nurses called it something but had never saw it before in person. It looked awful but praise Yah that she’s healed up now and the baby is thriving. Nothing like the grand babies for sure!❤️✝️🕊️
I’m so glad she is doing better! Bless her dear heart!!
So sorry for the hard birth! Praying for her healing and good health!!🙏🙏
I'm so sorry for such a hard birth. Bless her heart.
I am in Missouri (Kansas City area), and we been having good rain off and on all day today with very cool weather to go along with it. Hopefully, the rain will come your all's way soon. ❤
My Garden is finally Blooming.
My mamaw called her robe/ housecoat her Duster. It was thin with buttons that go all the way down. She would wear it over her silk sleeping gown
So did my Moma.

We need rain badly over here in the high plains of Texas. It’s already 80 degrees at 9:15 am ! Hot and dry…my poor grass😢
We moved here, Texas Panhandle, from NW Pennsylvania four years ago. Talk about climate shock! We have been working hard at having a successful garden. It is not easy!
I hope you get some rain.
I remember that video of Over in the Graveyard from one of the girl's post. Loved they walked away together at the end. They also mentioned redoing it too. I hope they do because it was so special I still think about it.
We're finally getting rain here in Florida. So thankful.
We always called it a Butter Knife. I still say House Coat.
Enjoy those babies.
I love to hear Ola Belle Reed. Wonderful voice!

Ola Belle Reed was born in Lansing, NC on August 18, 1916. Lansing is in Ashe County. I’m from Lansing too! There is an Ola Belle Reed Festival in Lansing every year …this year it will be August 3, 1924.
Oops! Ola Bell Reed Festival will be August 3, 2024. 😊
Thanks for the info!
Oh my i cant believe you mentioned Ola Bell Reed! She and her brother Alec campbell used to put a shoe on the local radio station here. They broadcast from the back of their little store called Campbells corner. I went there on Saturdays to watch them play and sing! Very talented misicians.
Love that!

Love old timey music. Learned some of Olabelle songs at Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago.

The Katydids live in trees as cicadas do, but you hear them sing from twilight to daybreak. Cicadas or Jar fly are singing from morning and day long until twilight. 😊
Got August 3rd jotted down in my calendar. Good time to drive down to Alexander's, right after payday. I'm excited to get to meet you dear lady. Hope you drag that scoundrel husband along with you. Like to meet him as well.

I've been spending a lot of time watering. It's been so dry in Southern Ohio. Praying for rain!!! So happy for you all and glad the babies are doing well! What a double blessing for you all.
Low humidity in Southwest Tennessee this morning. We had thunder yesterday but no rain. Congratulations on the new beautiful grandson.
