As to your comment on pencil thin 1930’s eyebrows, here’s a tip from an older lady...young ladies, do NOT tweeze your eyebrows! Just brush them upwards and clip off unruly hairs with a small scissors. You will loose your eyebrows over time and it will be “aging”. Just a heads-up. Also, Justine, I love your videos!🥰

Very interesting! I am a diamond face shape, and I have rather thick brows with a slight curve. No pointy arch or anything. But I LOVE my eyebrows. They are probably my favorite facial feature. I would never really play with the shape much. I just clean up the unibrow that I would naturally have and come through the rest and voila!

I also have rather deep set/hooded eyes with a strong browbone, so I keep the tail of the brow quite high and slightly elongated, so it doesn't weigh down the eye even more. Sidenote, I also plucked my brows thin when it was on trend, but luckily they grew back! :D

Lol great video! I became obsessed with brows in my teens and found a good tip from my one of my mother’s beauty books: when figuring out the right brow shape, use brow pencil to draw a good shape and a white eyeliner pencil (or whatever “lighter” matching skin color) to X out the areas you would pluck. When happy, pluck only the light hairs! I did all my friends brows and used the golden rule + what looked good to give them awesome definition.

I love your channel. I am 76 and live in Florida, USA. I never did anything to my brows until I turned about 65 and they started getting thinner. Now I just fill them in with pencil and a light dusting of face powder. Found your info very interesting! Thanks!!
It works! Have just done it for my oval face shape. Lo and behold I can draw dark eyebrows and they look GOOD. Before I had trouble with looking them looking heavy and brooding. Best regards!
I have a predominantly diamond shape, with slight leaning toward pear face, and also over tweezed brows from the 90s, but I really like the thin brow. I wear vintage style on occasion, and the 20s/30s are my favorite eras, so the skinny brow comes in handy. I also enjoy the versatility of a thinner brow as I can fill in if I wish, or not. I've heard that castor oil can help with hair growth for brows and eyelashes, which I'm experimenting with right now. I don't have much evidence yet as it's only been a couple of days using it, but it will definitely be interesting to see if that's true or not. I really enjoy your content on these types of subjects, as its really helped in discovering what looks best on me, and assisted in my personal development. You rock Justine!😊
My grandmother never allowed me to pluck my eyebrows. She thought Brooke Shields had the perfect eyebrows and thought mine looked like hers. I've always left them alone and now in my late 20s, I'm happy tweezers were never an option growing up 😂 I have an oval and heart shaped face, so I guess my natural eyebrow shape (wide and slightly arched) is what's best suited for my face.
Definitely, I've always had this issue finding the true shape of my brows and trying to fit within the trendy instagram brows. Well, it was a battle lost, but I took the suggestion of how to sculp the brows, base on the aurus ratio and the Kibbe's body type and totally worked. Now I have a very harmonious- not on trend brows, but I feel better.
I have a vertical white stripe running through the inner side of my brow and top lashes. My hair is naturally dark brown so it's quite a contrast without makeup.
So you were dying your brows for a certian period of time? Because I'm a natural brunette and I currently have copper hair, and my eyebrows are pitch black, it doesn't look bad but I have tried putting the same tint to my eyebrows and the tint wears off in 2 days 😪😪😪
I overplucked my eyebrows in my youth and now they just won't grow any more.. what I do is I use eyeshadow to drow them but i can't make them much thicker because it doesn't look natural. I'm so happy every time i see a new video from you Justine 🙂. Thank you for the great content ❤.
Little did I know I'd already had the perfect eyebrows (I was shocked yet am outlandishly excited by this discovery, especially for never thinking of this topic before being recommended this video).
Whoa, major difference right away. I have thin, light-colored eyebrows, so it's hard to tell where the natural arch is. With your tips I realized they are about a quarter of an inch further out than I thought they were. Thank you!
This is so off topic, but i love your hands so much! I think they're so soft and elegant but kinda strong too, your long nails make your fingers look longer and the rings you use just look so pretty
Your content is always lovely. I use to get my eyebrows threaded but I live to far away from any place that offers it. I have only, once, one time, gotten them waxed and I will never do that again. The stylist made one brow noticeably wider than the other. I had to draw the other one on or it was horrifying noticeable 😒 Thankfully it grew back
Justine just explains everything so well!!! I feel like I’m always in the know after her videos and can apply the knowledge right away! Thanks so much, Justine!
This video is AMAZING! I've been googling how to tweak my brows to flatter my long oval face, and this is the one thing I found that actually answered my question!!! THANK YOU! I'll be making my eyebrows straighter, less arched, to make my face appear fuller, or less long!
I have very full but very fair eyebrows. I always look younger/healthier after I have filled them in. I really wanted to get eyebrow tattoos so I could always have the look. But then I found that there is eyebrow and eyelash dye-- I ordered the 1000 Hour (I think) brand from Amazon and it is great! Now I just need to brush them into shape with clear mascara. And now I don't need regular mascara for my lashes either. So much easier.
Ok, so I'm a towhead as far as hair color & my eyebrows appear almost non-existent because of this so I've always kind of penciled them in to give my face some shape that it was lacking. But I never was happy with what I did and watching your video has changed the way that my eyebrows have looked, for the last 20 years like they have shape I have an arch like I never had any idea how to figure out where and how to make them look like this. So thank you
You're actually a genius, this is actually probably the most informative eyebrow video I've seen! I've been watching a ton of videos on shaping eyebrows. My eyebrows I think really don't suit my face since they are so angular & make me look a bit weird/creepy. I did a little bit of testing too on a photo editing software I use, & I had thought rounder or eyebrows that go up at the ends suited me best. Now I'm watching your video & it supports my hypothesis! I have both a long face & pear face, what suits my face best is a circular shape or brows going upwards at the end. Interesting you mentioned make the ends of the eyebrows go more towards the ears with a pear face, I might have to try doing that! ❤️❤️
In Mexico the brow trend has been super strong, thick, dark, extra bold. It has been like this for at least 4 years now and most girls use extra dark pomades to achieve this look. Not my thing unless I want my brows to be the center of attention. I prefer a bit more natural look even if I have very strong brows anyway so I keep them groomed, trimming them every other week and removing any hairs that grow outside of the shape I'm going for. For everyday wear I use a gel with color, but if I feel like properly doing my brows I use powders or pomade depending on weather conditions (pomade works best for me in super hot climates). Amazing tips as always!
As one ages, hair can thin and color fade - eyebrows too!! I have electrolysis done every 5-6 weeks, since tweezers don’t ‘’grab’’ the few thin hairs which need to go. Also, these hairs are lower on the brow bone due to loss of face volume. It is more painful to grab these hairs. Waxing is an option. With either method, done by a professional who uses a magnifying glass, one can be better groomed. This is especially true if one wears glasses and cannot see pale fine hair. Good point about the fragility of hair in this area and the ever changing trends regarding ‘’right shape.’’ To have one’s eyebrows tattooed, the so called ‘’ permanent eyebrow’’, is to further lessen the volume of one’s natural growth. Also, the tattoo can creep away from the original placement and is not technically permanent since it requires re-doing. In sunlight it is obvious what is the brow and what is inked onto the skin. Thicker brows work best for the older crowd, plus a softer brow color to blend w/skin tone. Thanks for all your good research, Justine!!
I appreciate your comments on brow tatoos. I've considered them, but haven't taken the leap. Your comments convince me it would be a mistake to do so. Thanks.
For my style I just keep my eyebrows as natural as posible. From time to time I will remove the sparse hairs that grow under my brow bone and I just fill the empty spaces. I don’t over line or over thicken my brows because it makes me look older. Would love to have naturally fuller brows but I work with what I got.
I use Nars Medium Brown Warm pencil and for the few gray hairs in my brows, I use an old mascara that is a little bit dried out and brush over the grays very lightly. It makes you appear younger with no grays in your brows.
Great video :) My hooded eyes are the deciding factor for my brows. My natural brows are dark, full, a little thick, and a little straight, so I pluck a good deal from underneath in a gentle arch shape, the goal being something like the "golden ratio" "ideal shape" for two reasons: 1) to make more room between my lashes and brows, otherwise applying eyeshadow is a nightmare 2) to lift the outer corners of my eyes; being hooded, they can use the lift I still wouldn't like them to be super thin, so I leave as much as I can, and use some cream product to add volume and definition, but I'm thinking about switching to powder for a more subtle enhancement.
Justine, loved this blog . I never plucked my brows, but with aging I got a gap. So I have a tattooed brow a small one. You can makeup with powder a bigger brow, and if fashion change again, I doe have the small brow. Color is also fashion related, now I have the darker ones, and in summer I make then lighter. I use castoroli for growth, and a brush for pushing upwards. Will try the face shape , see if it changes my face. Have a nice week
Hi! Great tips ^_^ Im a natural strawberry blond/redhead. My natural eyebrow colour is practically invisible against my skin. It's amazing. Not many people dare to go without eyebrows but I love how freakish my face looks if I only use eye makeup and don't fill in my eyebrows. 😆 And other times I can draw in whatever shape I like!
I have micro-bladed brows and love them. They require very little attention unless I'm actually putting on makeup to go out, then I'll touch up a few places and that's it. They're terrific for those of us whose brows have become sparse post-menopause.
Thank u sooo much Justine for making this video. I requested for it in the longest time. I rushed to watch it as soon as I saw the notification. Thanks a lot 😊💋
for anyone looking for cheaper alternatives for brow stuff i highly recommend the Essence 'Make me Brow' eyebrow powder. it is an amazing product, not like your usual eyebrow powder, fine milled and in perfect shades. but i do agree that the best brow pencil and clear brow gel is the ABH one.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have been trying to figure out an aesthetic brow and I FAILED so _many_ times. You’d think I would’ve learned something after consuming countless opinions on vanities. But nooo, I’m currently with a half shaved brow (I found it cute and thought it could work ..wrong..) and I just drew my arch and I looked 1000x better. Thank you so much!
I've tried different shapes for my eyebrows over the years, and have settled on very close to my natural shape, just tidying them up a little bit, and whilst I have dark brown hair, I use a pencil called eyebrow blond just to fill in a tiny bit. I could not wear the current massive eyebrows, and think on most women it looks ridiculous. Just because there's a fad or trend doesn't mean we should wear it straight, we need to adapt these trends to suit our shape, colours, proportions, and that's the fun part. And that's where your videos, that break down all the parts that go into creating our look are SO helpful! Now that I understand the parts of fashion I can work the whole and dress purposefully, and personally, with the intention to feel good for myself. Getting dressed is so much fun since I found your videos, whereas before it was just a stress. Thank you for your well researched content and your integrity in presentation.
Also, my mum told me when I was very young not to pluck my eyebrows. It was the trend to have very thin eyebrows in her 20s and now she has basically none!
That sentence you wrote, beginning with "Now that I understand. .." that ends with "to feel good about myself" could be the mission statement for her channel. She is so good at describing the timeless ideals while "allowing" for each personality.
Justine!! You are so knowledgable! What did we ever do before you made this channel? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!Has anyone else benefited immensely from this channel?
Merci, Justine! So much good info about eyebrow shape & color here, & I love that you bring in the golden mien. And very good advice about not doing anything too permanent to eyebrows. You asked about our routines: I have mine groomed by an aesthetician shortly before every haircut because my bangs will be cut above my brows. Between cuts, I pluck only stray hairs & trim back the longer, curly hairs when they crop up.
Hi, Justine. I love your videos -- lots of helpful information and fun to watch! Can you please do a segment on what French or other European women wear for sleeping and/or lounging?
I mostly gave up on my brows and cut a fringe to cover their sparseness after a phase of tweezing. I apply castor oil to them and they are growing back very gradually, but I refuse to clog the area with cosmetics, wearing off existing hairs with frequent makeup removal, and would never do something that would really damage the chances of regrowth further such as the blading which oftentimes looks too severe anyway.
your hands are so beautiful. thanks for the video. I tweezed my eyebrows 3 days ago and saw this video just today. Surprisingly I had done my eyebrows just like you said! thanks and see you on sunday!
When Pretty Pastel Please (a youtuber from Australia) did a Korean Makeup tutorial she did the new square brows- and she thought they looked weird- but EVERYONE in the comments told her they suited her face shape -( they really do) - so now she does Korean Brows all the time and it suits her face! It's so important to figure out what brows your face shape needs.
Somehow your videos make absolute sense and everything I read online I come back to check its authenticity and accuracy on your channel. Such strong content you create, Justin. Thanks and greetings! :)
I have learned so much about fashion thanks to your videos!! But I also love to watch your videos about skin care/hair routine etc. can you please make a video over the best types of SPF and face creams!
I’m fortunate to have been born with the perfect brows for my face shape. They’re just the right density and have a natural arch, so all I do is trim the excess length and pluck away the strays, and I’m done. No make up on brows, since it would look comical. The 10x magnification mirror, needlepoint tweezers, and nail scissors are my best brow friends.
Thank you, excellent timing..I'm growing out my brows to reshape them. Been doing a lot of research about this lately.. 😁Massaging browns with a clean tooth brush and putting on coconut oil before going to bed is good for growth and care.. My plan is to make them a little thicker than before, my face needs more colour, definition..now when I decided to stop dyeing my hair and embracing all the silver, white, grey.. Take care. Hugs & sunshine 🌞 N
i got an empty mascara bottle from amazon i filled with organic fractionated coconut oil (also from amazon) and started putting some on my eyebrows and eyelashes before bed. i got my first results in less than a week, all the hairs were feeling stronger and started growing in thicker. i'm glad bc my eyebrows were patchy. i only tweeze when i have to so i usually do a few hairs here and there as they pop up. my eyebrows (like my eyelashes) are completely different from each other so i try to even them out as much as possible for an even, natural look so if you have any tips for regrowing eyebrows or taming curly lashes while others are straight i always love your advice! anything you want to share on natural hair or skin care would be so helpful for me! i trust your recommendations! love you so much!!
Thanks so much for the video Justine!!!! I have been trying to control my eyebrows (that's the way I am saying, because they are very strong, bush and dark) and funny enough the style I am liking more now a days is quite close to the style you suggested for my face shape. It was a big help!!!
Great video Justine! When I look at some pictures of myself from the 1990's I cringe. The skinny eyebrows were popular back then. Thankfully I didn't do any permanent damage and was able to grow out my eyebrows after the skinny trend ended.
When I was a sophomore in high school (about nine years ago), I had pencil thin eyebrows. Now I'm embarrassed to show anyone my yearbook photos. Haha Oh, well. You live and you learn. 😀
I never pluck but use a tiny razor to shape my brows. That way I won’t damage the follicles. It’s great for regrowing brows since you can keep them tidy while the follicles produce more hair.
Eyebrows! I've actually changed the shape of mine slightly, taking away the arch and making them slope down, similar to the Korean brow. It makes me feel like I "look" more friendly and gentle. I can still see traces of where my original brow would have been, and from time to time, I draw them in to see if I'd like the natural slope again, and I detest it. Or I try the golden rule, and I still don't like it. I much prefer the sloping-down brow, which almost looks kitten-like to me, ha ha. It's amazing how much brows can attribute to one's overall look. Great video, thank you!
I don't have one way I always do my brows... it changes depending on my mood and what style I want that day! But I think I have a diamond face shape and your advice is actually similar to how I generally aim to shape my brows :)
This is fascinating!!! I have an oval shape and well-behaved (they grew in the right way for my face) brows. My daughter was less fortunate and has to augment what she has. I know sometimes what she creates looks a bit off but never knew why. I'll have her watch this to see how it may impact how she applies her brows, though as a teenager I know she likes to experiment which is fun.
Mother Nature has gifted me with a bit too much of the eyebrow goodness, so I have to keep them in check. ;) #Q&A 1 for the next season: it seems that fashion (or niche fashion) is recently very much into the "librarian style": cardigans, A-line midi skirts, boxy cuts. I've discovered myself sliding into the comfort of that style - as you say, clothes should be comfortable, n'est ce pas? But I also feel bored and meditate how to "vamp up" that cozy librarian in me. How would you do that, pair two different styles? Any tips? #Q&A 2 Terrycloth, suede, corduroy, chino, culottes... fashion is full of professional names for clothing and fabrics (no coincidence there's so much French in it) - how can we "digest" it, as individual consumers trying to pick a fabric with particular features or a shape of trousers that will fit our body types? How can I recognize a good corduroy fabric, par exemple? You already made a video on fabrics, but I would be very interested in more. And oh, culottes, so pretty, but I would never put it on as an apple shaped girl... Merci and have a good day.

Just brush them upwards and clip off unruly hairs with a small scissors. You will loose your eyebrows over time and it will be “aging”. Just a heads-up. Also, Justine, I love your videos!🥰
I only tweeze the 'stray' hairs on the side, where the hair has to go away. Otherwise my eyebrows are light brown caterpillars.
I use a nail clipper to get as far to the root as possible
Thanks for the tip - I never thought to cut my eyebrow hairs!
Great idea - I’ll clip the “unrulies” instead of plucking them from now on. Thank you!

One of the BEST channels on UA-cam!
Justine, I just love how respectful and professional you are. Thank you very much (and congratulations) for such a great work!
My grandmother never allowed me to pluck my eyebrows. She thought Brooke Shields had the perfect eyebrows and thought mine looked like hers. I've always left them alone and now in my late 20s, I'm happy tweezers were never an option growing up 😂
I have an oval and heart shaped face, so I guess my natural eyebrow shape (wide and slightly arched) is what's best suited for my face.
Great! And don't worry, trends change 😉
I am 57 years old and my eyebrow hairs turned grey. I am aesthetician and used a professional tint. Last year, I had microblading done and love it.
You are amazing!!, thank you very much
I overplucked my eyebrows in my youth and now they just won't grow any more.. what
I do is I use eyeshadow to drow them but i can't make them much thicker because it doesn't look natural. I'm so happy every time i see a new video from you Justine 🙂. Thank you for the great content ❤.
Little did I know I'd already had the perfect eyebrows (I was shocked yet am outlandishly excited by this discovery, especially for never thinking of this topic before being recommended this video).
Wonderful idea of video!!! Videos like this makes this channel unique!
Whoa, major difference right away. I have thin, light-colored eyebrows, so it's hard to tell where the natural arch is. With your tips I realized they are about a quarter of an inch further out than I thought they were. Thank you!
Finally, the video my eyebrows have been waiting their whole lives for! Thanks, Justine!
hahaha :-D
I can never thank you enough, for the first time ever I feel good about my round face shape
I had to draw the other one on or it was horrifying noticeable 😒
Thankfully it grew back
Justine just explains everything so well!!! I feel like I’m always in the know after her videos and can apply the knowledge right away! Thanks so much, Justine!
💛
I love how nuanced your videos are, you're my favorite fashion UA-camr because of how considerate you are💘
Ok, so I'm a towhead as far as hair color & my eyebrows appear almost non-existent because of this so I've always kind of penciled them in to give my face some shape that it was lacking. But I never was happy with what I did and watching your video has changed the way that my eyebrows have looked, for the last 20 years like they have shape I have an arch like I never had any idea how to figure out where and how to make them look like this. So thank you
My mom was an esthetician and makeup artist. I have perfect eyebrows because she taught well. I get compliments on my brows! Lol. Thanks Mom
Hi Justine! Can you make make a video on androgynous style on men and woman and with different body types? That would be so cool🌸
Love you💕
You're actually a genius, this is actually probably the most informative eyebrow video I've seen!
❤️❤️
Glad you found it useful!💛
This was the best and most comprehensive video ever on eyebrows! Thank you, Justine!
Really want to see a closet/wardrobe organizing video from you with all the tips please Justine!
Great video :)
My hooded eyes are the deciding factor for my brows. My natural brows are dark, full, a little thick, and a little straight, so I pluck a good deal from underneath in a gentle arch shape, the goal being something like the "golden ratio" "ideal shape" for two reasons:
1) to make more room between my lashes and brows, otherwise applying eyeshadow is a nightmare
2) to lift the outer corners of my eyes; being hooded, they can use the lift
I still wouldn't like them to be super thin, so I leave as much as I can, and use some cream product to add volume and definition, but I'm thinking about switching to powder for a more subtle enhancement.
I don’t do anything my brows. I’m so lost with them. This was so helpful! Thank you!
We have the same face shape, eye color and hair color. Your channel is awesome! Thank you. 😄
Yay! I have a diamond shaped face and my eye brows are super thin. I’m self conscious about that but now I’m glad 😊
You look so bright and beautiful! Thank you for all the tips!
I have micro-bladed brows and love them. They require very little attention unless I'm actually putting on makeup to go out, then I'll touch up a few places and that's it. They're terrific for those of us whose brows have become sparse post-menopause.
Helpful tip - draw in your brows before you pluck. This means you have the perfect template drawn on before you accidentally remove too much!
You add delight to all your topics. Such a lovely woman 🌟
This was fantasically informative! I think many poeple will find it to be incredibly useful. Thank you for mkaing it!
THANK YOU!
Your videos are knowledgeable yet leave space for our imagination. That’s lovely and all good wishes for you.
Thank you very much!
Justine!! You are so knowledgable! What did we ever do before you made this channel? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!Has anyone else benefited immensely from this channel?
You’re aways so kind light hearted and informative. Thank you 😊
Merci, Justine!
Oh I smiled as soon as you started talking. Sending love
Justine, please do a video on the new Met Gala, I always look forward to your Metgala reviews, they are spot on and great!
Yess!! Only Yesterday I was researching on this and now my idol posts a video on it! Thank you Justine!!!!
The best brow video I have ever seen, as always so well researched and I loved it.
wow... thanks!
your hands are so beautiful. thanks for the video.
I’ve been waiting for this for so long! Thank you thank you thank you!!! ❤️
Hey Justine ... glad to see you again 😌😌😌😍
i got an empty mascara bottle from amazon i filled with organic fractionated coconut oil (also from amazon) and started putting some on my eyebrows and eyelashes before bed. i got my first results in less than a week, all the hairs were feeling stronger and started growing in thicker. i'm glad bc my eyebrows were patchy. i only tweeze when i have to so i usually do a few hairs here and there as they pop up. my eyebrows (like my eyelashes) are completely different from each other so i try to even them out as much as possible for an even, natural look so if you have any tips for regrowing eyebrows or taming curly lashes while others are straight i always love your advice!
anything you want to share on natural hair or skin care would be so helpful for me! i trust your recommendations!
love you so much!!
Love the video informative & logical as always 🙂💟👍
Haha
Oh, well. You live and you learn. 😀
Lucky you.. mine never grew back. And now every morning on top of my make up routine it takes me 10 minutes to draw in my eyebrows.
This is the best eyebrow video I've seen Justine! Thank you!
Yes, brows are an important face feature!
You are dedicated and down to earth, salute❤
I don't have one way I always do my brows... it changes depending on my mood and what style I want that day! But I think I have a diamond face shape and your advice is actually similar to how I generally aim to shape my brows :)
Oh my! A new favorite channel and thank you, Justine
This is awesome, Justine. I absolute appreciate that you did a "how to style according to your face shape". You solved my eyebrow problem
Thanks for all the work you did for this!
Excellent video! Thank you - from Australia 🇦🇺
I listen to her video while I sleep because her voice is so soothing😄❤
Another informative video from a lovely smart lady! Thanks Justine and wishing you continued inspiration!
Love your channel. This video is great!!
Mother Nature has gifted me with a bit too much of the eyebrow goodness, so I have to keep them in check. ;)
#Q&A 1 for the next season: it seems that fashion (or niche fashion) is recently very much into the "librarian style": cardigans, A-line midi skirts, boxy cuts.
