A person of ARR's calibre,..when he sat and worked for Roja,..If it was any other person starting his music career through a legend director would have preferred a heart throbbing, love soaked, running around the tree, A happy go happy ending kind of a love story.But, what was given to ARR, he just took it as such with no complaints ( I mean the story of movie Roja with its off beat militant cause, insurgency, curfew,.litle bit of village and most about fighting to get back the hero from militants clutches..etc..etc ). But look at the magic,.. he worked with what was offered and pulled it of so well that even a commercial entertainer subject would have not hit that success peak. So that's the catch,..doing the best with what's offered or available and coming out with flying colours is what the good learning which one needs to learn from these two great legends life and their good work.
My most favorite film of Mani is always Mouna Ragam and Alaipayuthey. Both the films are just like diamonds. ARR-Mani combo all the albums were awesome but was little dissapointed with CCV. Songs sounded nice but nothing stayed in the heart after the initial hearings. Kadal, OKK and Kaatru Veliyidai albums were the best thing that came from their camp post Alaipayuthey. Albums that heavy emotions and out of the world tunes. Those albums makes our heart skip a beat even by remembering the titles. Really hoping Ponniyan Selvan will be in that list too. Awaiting for it eagerly!

Both Mani Sir and Rahman Sir are soft spoken persons. Soft replies interrupted by high volume questions is really irritating. Also there are two (big) animated icons at top right and bottom left. It is has been at least 10 years that, animated icons have been found annoying and eventually removed from good websites or videos. Hope the Vikatan team learns it soon. The simple icon at the bottom left is sufficient.

During the good old days of cassette recorders I bought a cassette of the album Pudhiya Mugam. This cassette had a fantastic instrumental composition. I lost that cassette and bought another one mainly for the instrumental track. Surprisingly the track that this second cassette had was entirely different from the previous one. I am desperately looking for those two different tracks. Where can I find them? Does someone understand what I am trying to say here? Will Mr.Rahman help us out with it? If I can get that it'll be awesome. Thanks.

Thalapathy was fully composed by Raja sir. Rahman never compose music for any films before Roja. He was only doing ads and private albums.

Thalapathy was a 1991 film. Raja sir is not llike ARR. He does not take his musicians contribution into his work. Every single music note in Raja sir songs are all his own. ARR will ask his musicians to contribute their idea and accept their idea in his songs. So highly impossible ARR had composed even a single note in any Raja sirs compositions. But yes, Isai movie is roughly about Rahman and Rajar sir characters. That i noticed too. Aana athe avanga kathai illai ne nenikiren.
Nowadays ( for last 30 years) everything is promoted through advertisement, previously earned fame and marketed prior to the final product. Media plays important role in this marketing. People become famous through promotion, not because of their talent. Mani knows this and the pioneer of this trend. They get their money without worrying about people who buy the product, theatre people or audience. As long as Mani and Co get their money their job is done.
