@@debodatta7398 It's a Hinglish show with a largely hindi-speaking audience (exception being the South Indian segments like South Indian actor interviews) where even the host wouldn't understand Tamil. So, it's not really surprising. They are titans in their respective fields, no doubt; but to ascribe some superior sense of social etiquette particularised by Gulzaar saab's attendance just to elevate their moral stature is both strange and unnecessary in the present context. Just my opinion.
P.s. I'm a Kannadiga. Just putting it out there before somebody redundantly twists my comment in some absurd manner to make it look like I'm some North Indian Hindi supremacist.

Got emotional watching this interview. I’m in awe of all three gentlemen. Gulzaar saab just stole my heart here! What a legendary man with such legendary films and songs under his belt! I love the analogy he used for working with Mani sir and ARR being like an Eid celebration! His love for culture and the Urdu language melts my heart! Love how ARR describes how his faith inspires him and brings out the best in him! This was such a wonderful discussion!

A.R.Rahman is an Indian composer in the league of World Class Composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith, Alexandre Desplat, Michael Giacchino, Dave Jordan, Thomas Newman, Ludwig Goransson, Alan Silvestri, Dave Jordan, James Horner, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jerome Moross, Trevor Jones, Craig Armstrong, Danny Elfman ... and even better because of his extreme versatility ranging from Western Classical, Orchestral, Electronics, Indian Classical ... to almost everything
I lost when Gulzar sir called Mani Garu as mani sir and appreciating Anupama garus remembrance about the past interviews, when mani Garu talking about the faith towards the religion and rahman sir being humble as always... This is not just an interview it's all about the wisdom of these great people.. Somuch to learn from them... No loud laughs, cracking for silly things, unnecessary questions... Its all a pure talk.. Younger generations really miss these interviews pity them..

What all three of them did with Dil Se just blew my mind as a teenager and had such a huge influence on my life. Thanks Film Companion for this interview. I wish there could be a special on Dil Se at Film Companion. I want to know so much about the entire process of making that movie.

I remember in school days, I bought the cassette tape of Dil Se on the very first day of the launch with my pocket money. I rushed to my home to play it on my Walkman player. The magic ARR and Mr.Gulzar created with all those talented singers can't be matched with anything till now. Dil Se is and was the best collective work of A R Rahman. Dil Se is and forever will be the best album from Indian Cinema for me.

Gonna watch Ponniyin Selvan for the 3rd time tomorrow. Watched FDFS here in Bangalore, and I couldn't get over it. And, I don't think I ever will. Mani Ratnam does a wonderful job. He lets his art take over, and thus, this beauty of the movie. Its painful, its intimate, heartbreaking anf yet so lovely. Music was brilliantly made and extremely well placed. Makes your heart scream almost. Only complaint will probably be no scenes for Poonguzhali, Sendhan Amudhan, or even Vanathi for that matter, which is understandable. I really wish he had made this as a three parter, but, even this. My god, I can't tell you how obsessed I am.

Though, personanlly for me, Gulzar Sahab is the highlight. Any interview with him is a masterclass in itself. He tells about everything in such a poetic way and that to with utmost simplicity. What a man!

I am a proud Thanjavur woman. My roots belong to this place. I was so much drawn to this place that we ended up constructing our dream home here. Now its become our favourite and frequent holiday destination.
And most importantly, i have named my daughter "Nandini" taking inspiration from the Nandi Bull present in the UNESCO recognized world renowned Brihadeeshwar Temple. Its a moment of great pride for me to watch a movie based on our heritage and culture!

I am amused to know that once upon a time these three legends were common people leading a normal life, like yea Aam aadmi hey, in the past.. But their dream, courage to pursue their determined new path had led them to new victories, new conquers, and the way they continue their passion for new more adventures, though they have achieved a lot, makes me think that they are pioneers.. They are teaching us the ways we should pursue to reach our dreams, from common man to something achieving remarkable.. we need more triples like them..

A R Rahman is an absolute genius when it comes to music but he is any interviewers biggest nightmare because he is not good with words. Gulzar Saab on the other hand is a delight. He is a word magician. Quick witted, a dry sense of humour and a genius as well.
