I thought I was going to have to call an HVAC tech to fix this, which is why it went unfixed for so many years. If only I had known it was this easy...
This video involves part number part #62-22868-93, which can be found here on Amazon:

Thanks for the humorous and helpful video...I've surfed a bunch of videos about different components, and I checked them all with an ohm meter, looking for open circuits. It was getting late and I was ready to quit for the night, but your video gave me the boost to check one more part

This wasn't quite the same problem I was having, but seeing how it works helped me get to the solution much quicker. I watched several other videos from "professionals" that told me nothing. After seeing this I had the heat back on in about 10 minutes. Thank you.

So if my ignitor was lit does that mean it's just the flame sensor instead. Which I had that problem before in a different house and just had to clean

  • @chrisjames709

The fire stick was the issue we had to deal with. just a heads up, apparently a little annual maintenence will go a long way. Take a little time to remove that bad boy and dust it off with a piece of sandpaper.

Just a couple of quick tips from a technician. First, never touch the ignitor element. The oils from your skin will cause premature failure. Second, contrary to another comment, never clean the flame detection rod (fire stick) with sandpaper. The most aggressive thing you should use is a clean kitchen scrounge. Most techs just scrub them with a dollar bill.

Nice video. I have an issue with the same furnace, ours has a Direct Spark Ignition which ignites every time. Problem is the last burner was intermittent and found it was rusty so I cleaned it to no avail. I replaced the entire 3-burner assembly but still the last burner intermittently lights and sometimes needs 2 or more cycles... Any suggestions?

Don’t mind player haters like Poopoo Le Mule! You can’t get much more to the point than a 5:34 video that is successfully fixing everyone’s issue? No one wants to see a vid of someone talking like a technician droning on and on and putting us to sleep. Keep up the great work.

I'm really happy this video helped you! And thank you for the kind words. I suppose I'm not everyone's cup of tea, which is perfectly fine. Not sure why they feel the need to comment that I'm not their cup of tea, though. It's a free video to them, and commenting (either good or bad) only helps the channel grow. So, joke's on them!

@@ChickFixUSA I finally got it. My husband passed. This company had charged us $14,000 for an HVAC system. They installed the ac, but to make a long story short, they did not install the furnace. It is 19 years old. It should be less than 2 years old. I was out of town and my hubby was in a wheelchair and couldn't see it. So he trusted them.
