I’m white lol and I always get the mini tub when I go to the super H mart (big Korean & Asian supermarket) because I literally put kimichi on everything lol 😂 and eat it almost every other day. Mannn, I’ll eat it with rotisserie chicken, rice, steak, in eggs scrambled, on pizza, with pork, with ramen 🤤😩 or sometimes I’ll just eat some out the jar. Idk, I really love it. It’s really good for you, probiotics and for your intestines. It helps your digestive tract. But I love other kimchi’s too, like cucumber kimchi, radish kimchi, chive kimchi 🤤🥰 man I’m hungry. Lol

I just moved to Maryland and HMart is my main place to grocery shop. I've changed my whole way of cooking. Korean food is one of the BEST! The flavors are insane! I really want to try fishcakes soon. Thanks for this video.
The thing about fish cakes is that the diversity is kinda double edged: yes, there are types suitable for chicken soup, fish soup, tteokbeokki, pho, ramen, and straight up boiled, but a fish cake that is good for one dish may not be good for another. That said, when you know the 🍢 is good, it’s fucking delectable. And you might not even need to go to HMart to get it, any local JP supermarket should sport a frozen section with good fish cakes. (You will need to defrost and boil them yourself, though, and even possibly slice them)
I feel like Hispanics and Asians are similar when it comes to eating certain parts of the animal body. I grew up eating pig's ear, liver, blood sausage, pig trotters, all that good stuff. We just make them different.

I just love how so much asian food is super delicious and has SO many veggies and they just know so well how to use those veggies to make it all taste so amazing
Hey Mikey. The literal translation of kimbap is "seaweed rice" which mistakenly alot of folks think of them as a Korean "sushi" roll. In fact both are not prepped or taste even remotely the same hence why you'll never find soy sauce/wasabi offered with kimbap. The main characteristics of kimpap is the densely pack rice roll filled with whatever filling (usually beef or imitation crab meat, carrots, spinach, pickled diakon radish in the States) and a generous amount of sesame oil on the outside. The whole thing is basically a self contained flavored roll (strong sesame oil flavor) with a dense texture (especially on the rice). The most important ingredients personally is the pickled daikon radish should be 1/4 of the entire of the entire inner filling ingrediants to provide much needed acidity and a contrasting texture crunch. That being said they are a childhood nostalgia and perfect food (often wrapped in aluminum) for a picnic or food on the go. The reason for their popularity in Korea is you can get a massive kimbap roll for $1. Also in Korea they have many different filling such as canned tuna, kimchi, and even cheese. TDLR - Don't mistakenly think Kimbap is a "sushi" roll. Think of it as a dense rice roll and you may like it (but most people won't) 😂😃
Several years ago I was at an Asian grocery and I thought it was weird that they had sushi rolls that were just, out there by the front counter and not refrigerated. I did end up trying it, and it was good. Now I know what it is.
I had always thought of kimbap as a Korean sushi roll, and I am glad to have been corrected! Thank you for the info! I do enjoy kimbap as well as sushi, and that explains the different flavor profiles, so again, thank you!
Omg, this H mart is literally five minutes' drive from my house and I go there every weekend. My husband and I would be delighted to host your next dumpling/ Noodle section so we can try more varieties. We usually hit 85 Degree across the street and Shared Tea (the best milk tea in Lynnwood) after the H Mart run. BTW, I put the fried mackerel into the fish stew. The mackerel is tender, juicy and flavourful!
Thank you for the positivity during this challenging time!!! Can’t wait to try the yakult soda- cheers! This is giving me so many ideas I cannot wait to try!

Okay but is no one gonna talk about Mikey's choice of music lately?? They really be boppin and I ain't even mad at them. Love how he knows when to turn em up and lower them. Great job Mikey!! 🥰🥰
No joke, every time I go to the kimchi section of a H Mart, I salivate. Everything looks so good and when I bring it home, it's just as delicious as I imagined it to be ^_^
H-Mart? Really! How cool. Wish we had this up in Canada! I absolutely love your grocery store food reviews! This one was awesome.. especially the ready-made food section! Great job Mike!
The montage of the shopping inside h-mart was amazing. I only have small family owned korean markets in my city. And every time I go I already spend way to much. I couldn’t imagine what I’d spend there🤯😳
I love H Mart! We also have another Korean mega store called Assi Plaza. I love learning about new foods. I'm half Italian and half Vietnamese. Both sides have great cuisines, but I love discovering new cuisines.
They're one of the many local markets here, and I love stopping in when I'm in the area! I'm always pleasantly surprised by what new goodies I find here at each visit
I love garlic too. Garlic everything. I even like the garlic smell on breath. Yes. I'm odd. I do think garlic keep a person younger looking tho. My family can never have enough garlic on my mom's side. And they all look 20 to 30 years younger than their age.
I love H mart - and I also have a Zion Market both within 5 miles of my house. During the being of lock down H mart have everything a I needed Toilet Paper, Water, Meat H-mart had my back
@@reinulf656 You actually have, but only in major cities like Hamburg. There are several huge asian supermarkets with all kinds of stuff. Obv. not as big and great like this but still :D
M e too! Just that h mart is a longer drive...like 20 minutes. I don’t know about you but in my Zion market there is a furai chicken food shop in the food court and it tastes amazing!
I really enjoy watching with how much genuine joy you go grocery shopping because you just genuinely enjoy eating food. honestly I can never tire of your commentary on and pointing out the various things you can find inside stores. I found the line about your shopping spree in particular really amusing. and I totally relate to that! if I could go on an endless shopping spree, I would love to do it inside an asian store as well
I wonder if Mikey knows how cute he really is, especially when he gets excited. No, this is NOT a "come on or pick up" line. He just gets so innocently and adorably excited. 😊💜❤
Hi Mikey, i thought of a tip while watching you eat the clams: since the sauce was a Separate Frozen Block, you could collect and separate all the clams, and rinse them in a strainer..then no more sand! Or at least, way less!! Maybe try it?? Hopefully that will work!! 😃
I’m so happy you show the shopping because a lot of us have no idea what to buy and what to do with it. I understand most of it is Self-explanatory however there is a quite a bit of food in Asian super markets that unless you grew up in it if you don’t know what it’s for what to do with it. Thank you
MIKEY!!! THIS IS MY HOOD LYNNWOOD! Please come back and try the Korean fusion mom and pop shop called 9 Delicacies. The BEST Korean fusion pork shoulder and KFC sandwiches!!
happy fathers day to my MOM, who raised my brother & me on her own && has stepped up for the past twenty years to be a better ‘dad’ than any man I’ve ever met ps. love your vids, mikey!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE me an H Mart! I’m so lucky to have 3 in Long Island! My favorite one has a full restaurant and bakery in it that’s fantastic! Plus, they hand out so much food samples that you can have a full meal just walking around the store!
I’m not a huge fan of Kimbap in general, funny enough, not the HMart one, either, but at least they’re *consistent*. The real value in kimbap, though, lies in piling that fucker high with ground marinated beef, julienne cucumber, surimi crab, shredded omelette, burdock, julienned carrot, wasabi, gochujang, and sesame oil.
Wishing my stepdad was still alive. He’d be all up for a road trip to check that H-Mart out! I swear he’d act the same way as Mike! Thanks for another great video!
When you did get exited I also whas soo exited. I wish they have store like this here in Holland. I really want to try Korean/Chinees recepies. Peace from Holland.

Mikey’s “just a bit” of hot chili sauce is the equivalent of “two shots vodka” from Sandra lee. I’m here for it.
He walks by 12 shelfs of chili paste and mentions it. Gets home "all I got is this hot oil"...
scary

😂 you have a special bond with your tummy
Haha for reallllll 😂
@@TheDonkDonk420 I just ate Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Yellowtail, Eel roll, Salmon roll, AND beef noodles

"Just a hint"
Proceeds to put three whole scopes of chili oil
It looked as red as the devil xD
I saw that too!
I was looking for this comment
That's a Gordon Ramsey sized "hint"
ok so im not tripping! hahaaa
I've gone to the HMart in Houston and it is my new favorite grocery store. Problem is, I live in Louisiana. Lol
There should be something similar in your area.
You gotta get outta there!
It’s always so refreshing seeing someone just enjoy food! Love watching your videos! Makes me miss my Grandmother’s cooking! (She’s from Hangzhou)
Okay but is no one gonna talk about Mikey's choice of music lately?? They really be boppin and I ain't even mad at them. Love how he knows when to turn em up and lower them. Great job Mikey!! 🥰🥰
Most likely his editor haha
No joke, every time I go to the kimchi section of a H Mart, I salivate. Everything looks so good and when I bring it home, it's just as delicious as I imagined it to be ^_^
H-Mart? Really! How cool. Wish we had this up in Canada! I absolutely love your grocery store food reviews! This one was awesome.. especially the ready-made food section! Great job Mike!
There's a few in Vancouver too
Good to know.. I'm in Ottawa.. we really need to get on board!
Edmonton has 2 H-mart stores
Consider looking for Galleria Market as an alternative.
Busybee we have one in Coquitlam
The montage of the shopping inside h-mart was amazing. I only have small family owned korean markets in my city. And every time I go I already spend way to much. I couldn’t imagine what I’d spend there🤯😳
I love H Mart! We also have another Korean mega store called Assi Plaza. I love learning about new foods. I'm half Italian and half Vietnamese. Both sides have great cuisines, but I love discovering new cuisines.
"Just a tiny bit of hot oil"
*puts 3 tablespoon of hot oil* 😀😀😀
LOL Mikey is like Gordon Ramsay with the olive oil. "A little" = a sh*t ton 😂😂
Ayyyyyyyy welcome to the hot oil gang everyone
Mike: “B positive and liver a little” Me: “Don’t leave meeeee, take me with you”🤣
They're one of the many local markets here, and I love stopping in when I'm in the area! I'm always pleasantly surprised by what new goodies I find here at each visit
Asian parents in noodle forms: “It hurts you, but in a good way.”
Did anyone ever mention Mike turn into confucius when eating because TRUTH
haha too funny!
Imagine if he was in he mafia they send a pig head and he starts to cook it
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He wouldn't be scared, he'll thank them 🤣
I love garlic too. Garlic everything. I even like the garlic smell on breath. Yes. I'm odd. I do think garlic keep a person younger looking tho. My family can never have enough garlic on my mom's side. And they all look 20 to 30 years younger than their age.
Garlic is great tbh, thibk it is that and probsbly genetics?
I love H mart - and I also have a Zion Market both within 5 miles of my house. During the being of lock down H mart have everything a I needed Toilet Paper, Water, Meat H-mart had my back
So nice. We don't have anything like this in Germany. It looks amazing!
Lucky!!
All throughout the lockdown in Oakland ca. Our Asian market had tp all the time...
I really enjoy watching with how much genuine joy you go grocery shopping because you just genuinely enjoy eating food. honestly I can never tire of your commentary on and pointing out the various things you can find inside stores. I found the line about your shopping spree in particular really amusing. and I totally relate to that! if I could go on an endless shopping spree, I would love to do it inside an asian store as well
“I love pig ears. That’s why I have good hearing “😂😂😂😂
That's why a dogs hearing is so good
"maybe this pig was upside down his whole life"
spiderpig? is that you? guys, they got him.
This hits different while fasting
That’s my local H mart! I love that store. There is always amazing new stuff to find there. I’ve got some things added to my list now!
07:46 Mikey asking the HMart employee to make it rain while arranging the hot dogs is one of the greatest things ever
I'm Korean and I just wanna say this looks ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
".... unfortunately my chili oil is all I have"
😱😱😱 Don't you dare talk to your chili oil like that
"Big gyoza, those are my favorite types of gyoza"
What about the giant gyoza challenge in Tokyo? 😂😂😂
I think he tried that once.
That one changed from LOVE to PURE HATRED within 1 hour
I love oriental supermarkets😍I could lose myself there...their fruits!!!👌👌
@@strictlydumpling the ice cream challenge must have been worse, though you did mention the brick road challenge lol
Dude. Thank you. Your videos always make me smile. Especially during the lockdown, I feel like I’m having dinner with a friend! Thanks again.
The only thing that's lighter when I leave H-Mart is my wallet 🤣
Last time I went I spent $60 just in ramen and instant noodles
@@joshuacastillo798 me too 😅
Why is he still slim. I just put on 5kg watching him eat all that food 😂
Asian magic...
He isn't slim. He is a bit chubby, nothing bad, but not slim.
he buff af
Hes a beef cake 💗
Might be odd but I'm finding Mike's videos to be comfort food for the soul
I wonder if Mikey knows how cute he really is, especially when he gets excited. No, this is NOT a "come on or pick up" line. He just gets so innocently and adorably excited. 😊💜❤
I just love him! ❤
@@gypsymom0819 I do too. 💜🤗
Hi Mikey, i thought of a tip while watching you eat the clams: since the sauce was a Separate Frozen Block, you could collect and separate all the clams, and rinse them in a strainer..then no more sand! Or at least, way less!! Maybe try it?? Hopefully that will work!! 😃
I LOVE how hype he gets over food ahahah YOU INSPIRED ME TO RUN OUT TO HMART real quick.
If mikey calls that a hint, imagine what a gallon looks like to him
Haha i'm pretty sure he was joking and he knew he was adding a lot. His voice had sarcasm in it as he kept putting more and more oil
@@kruton93 yep agreed, he jokes about it most videos nowadays :D
A splash lol
@Úłtrà Ãrës GG G4
daddy, is he gonna eat all that??
yes dear, he's asian. he has multiple stomachs.
like you daddy?
goto your room
lol cows have 4 stomachs, but Mikey has 6. Scientifically proven fact.

Store: How much food would you like Mike: yes
Your jokes today were definitely needed and appreciated!🤣🤣🤣🤣
10:38 "and just a tiny... bit of that... just a hint"
and Mike literally dump 3full teaspoon of chilli oil
Momon ikr, i was like thats not a tiny bit of of hot oil, hahahaha, luv this guy......
The BEST Korean fusion pork shoulder and KFC sandwiches!!

ps. love your vids, mikey!
I'm diggin' this guys enthusiasm. Thumbs up.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE me an H Mart! I’m so lucky to have 3 in Long Island! My favorite one has a full restaurant and bakery in it that’s fantastic! Plus, they hand out so much food samples that you can have a full meal just walking around the store!
We need a “Tiny Bit of Hot Oil” t-shirts.
With a ladle full of it under the text
@@radomilprokopmaly5722 or a bucket
Yesss ahhah and yess to those^^^ 😂😂 I'd buy them
The veggie kimbap is actually a lot better than the beef or seafood ones
Love, love, love your videos!!! I try to keep up, running late but I'm still here!! Keep em coming 😀
LOVE H-Mart and blessed to have TWO close by me!
