Never even considered that dinosaurs and related might not have hard egg shells. I always assumed! that an egg that large HAS TO BE calcified. Eye-opening.
Steven, do you think you guys could ever do a video specifically discussing feather coverage/integument on non-theropod dinosaurs? It’s something I seem to never see people discuss. I know there is some evidence of quills on Ceratopsians, but I feel like theropods always steal the spotlight when discuss integument. Would be cool!
Merry Christmas, YDAW!! Best Wishes!! And Happy Holidays too!! And thank you very much for posting this cool paleorewind video for us viewers on this special holiday!! :D
I always loved paleontology, Dinosaurs were something I always enjoyed getting into, especially with Jurrasic Park and jurassic world movies. I would always try to get dinosaur books and mobile games to play and read just for the sake of my love for it, even as a kid I had an imaginary parasaurolophus that loved, being a female you wouldn't expect me to think this. None the less this was an amazing video and the ending was amazing!
I feel like jumping to the conclusion that the nodosaur ate plant material after a forest fire perhaps overshadows the simple fact that they could breathe fire and enjoyed a good BBQ.
Hey! Your job is fantastic, I get always amazed by the level of technical informations you bring in your videos. They are such a rich and interesting source about dinos that stimulate me to seek more and more, although it's more a curiosity/hobbie of mine than professional interest. Btw, don't you think it is about time we have a Spinosaurus YDAW sequel haha? Hoping for your best 🙌🏼
Honestly I just found this channel and I love it. I really hope he talks about the Compsognathus one day, I was actually trying to find factual videos about it the other day but there really wasn't much. Mainly just videos talking about the ones featured in Jurassic Park. Not even TreyTheExplainer has done a video solely about the Compsognathus. It would be interesting to see
His first vid was made 7 years ago in a channel named geek group (your dinosaurs are wrong #1) he did like 31 videos there and then made a new channel, his old channel is now used for engineering
The head pitched down on Irritator would be strong evidence for Spinosaurus carrying its head much the same, yes? If it was a shared characteristic within their clade that would certainly help with Spinosaurus' balancing problem. As I understand it that pitched posture was already suggested as a potential resting position for Spinosaurus, but not through any anatomical evidence, purely as a solution for that balancing issue. Thoughts, anyone?
I would love to see a video on ceratosaurus, i find that it's very intresting animal living in very intresting enviroment, would love to hear some speculative use it might have for its bony armor (osteoderms) on its back i tought it might help for defense since the animal is lower to the ground compared to the allosaurs for exmpl i know they werent that big but i was wondering if that is the case, anyways your vids are very informative keep up the good work!!
So, will this help newer dinosaurs, like chickens, for example, make nests? 🤔 Edited to add: The lack of mineralization you refer to, do you mean lack of calcium? Since that's what modern bird eggs are made of.
Considering that Protoceratops is known from a pretty dry environment, those soft-shelled eggs (where soft-shelled eggs would pretty rapidly dry out) should open a whole can of worms, shouldn't they?
could you possibly do Allosaurus again? but go into explination about the different Species? or like something Along the likes of A. europaeus A. fragilis, A. jimmadseni, and explain the places they were found and all that, if its too much i do apologize but Allosaurs is my favorite dinosaur!!!
How often are you planning on uploading videos for the core YDAW videos? Is this the right channel for it? The last video was months ago, when will the next one be?
I wonder if the soft-shelled eggs contributed to the extinction of non-avian dinosaurs, and the hard-shelled eggs to the survival of birds and crocodilians?
In a dangerous world, an animal would need to grow fast. So a 13 yo rex would have not been able to survive by himself. This would indicate that T-rex lived in groups, like elephants or lions, for example.

YDAW Argentinosaurus
Can u make YDAW iguanodon????????????
YDAW shunosaurus
YDAW. Do you critique dinosaur figures based on photos? If so, where do I submit?
I, myself, a dinosaur, was indeed looking to find nesting advice here.
What species are you
As a Dakotaraptor I have no idea how to nest my chicks. I just give them an IPad and let them tire themselves out
Never even considered that dinosaurs and related might not have hard egg shells. I always assumed! that an egg that large HAS TO BE calcified. Eye-opening.
"There is a deep split among the chasmosaurines..."
You could say...
You know...
A chasm?
I am myself a dinosaur and have been planning to build a nest. Thank you so much, this advice was very helpful! 😋
The best Christmas gift: a new YDAW!!!
"As if you, yourself was a dinosaur considering making a nest..."
Well, YDAW *does* have a wide subscriber base... :P
I had to restart the episode because I was so fascinated by the AWESOME sweater, I stopped hearing words
"If it were simple, it wouldn't be paleobiology" 😆
This is EXACTLY what I asked Santa for, for Christmas! A Christmas miracle!!
"What if we had rakes on our heads?" And then they did.
With the soft shell eggs, this might start another mass discussion like features or Spinosaurus
I myself, a dinosaur, am considering building a nest.
Relatable content.
You too? Congrats
goddamnit, i just made pretty much the same comment.
God tier content as always, Steven and Liz! Happy holidays 🎄🦖
2020 had lots of new and interesting discoveries for paleontology.
Merry Christmas, Steven and Liz! 👨🏫🦎🎄🎉
Love the ending btw. 👌
I have to say i am a dinosaur but im not looking to make a nest. Im just here to chill out and learn about all my friends🦕☺️🦖

Real MVP is E.D.G.E for organizing this rewind.
Absolutely love the iguanodon animation at the end.

Wooo! More ceratopsians. I have so much paleontology to catch up on. Glad I started with this one to give me some good news.
Thank you and thank you to the Paleorewind for bringing to my attention a couple of channels I did not know about.
It's always a great day when YDAW posts a video!
Merry Christmas, YDAW!! Best Wishes!! And Happy Holidays too!! And thank you very much for posting this cool paleorewind video for us viewers on this special holiday!! :D
Amazing work!!! Thank you for an awesome description of June’s paleontology!
Merry Christmas, YDAW!!! Thank you for this vid! Hope you're all doing well. :)
It’s really cool seeing my ceratosaur on the shelf in the background now

this paleo rewind thing is nice!
cool shirt! Merry Christmas Steve and Liz!

It really makes my day when you guys post, great video thank you again!

Great video, again! Love that you guys try to upload more frequently.
Brilliant video as always. Really informative and accessible. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas!

Amazing presentation as always.
merry Christmas!
I love the sweater!
I love this show man, I think I will start reading more articles on PLOS One
What happened to the May section?
According to E.D.G.E: "late"
@@paleoph6168 Yes indeed. XD I'm currently in the process of fixing it now, and I hope to get it out for you all soon. :)
Well, to be fair, I have often pictured myself as a Cat-a-saur and dreamt of making a magnificent nest.
I just subscribed to you great content
10:02 yeah, i knew that
I think your side camera commentary is better than your front camera commentary

Amazing stuff! Merry Christmas!
Also, $100 says Greg Paul will restore Terminocavus and Navajoceratops as Pentaceratops
Hello, is an update to the Spinosaurus video a possibility in the future?
I'm a simple Anne: I hear "Sue," I cheer.
I, for one, welcome our new chasmosaurine ceratopsid overlords.

Where did you get that awesome sweater?
It was a gift, I don't know the provenance I'm afraid.

1:10 Yeah, it would be disturbing if sheep ate deer-foxes.
Can someone tell me what a synontomorphy is? I can't find anything on google. Was it a term coined for the paper?
How often are you planning on uploading videos for the core YDAW videos? Is this the right channel for it? The last video was months ago, when will the next one be?
Christmasaurus!
Rex
I hope the we have an episode based on the new data of dinosaur, like Spinosaurus new tail.
i am so studying to become a paleontologist.
Could borealopelta have died from a viral or prion infection in the brain? Or charcoal is just toxic.
...So, are Triceratops and Torosaurus no longer considered the same species?
I want you to know that this video INSPIRED me and I'm sending you the result. Along with the worst dinosaur I have ever personally seen.
I wonder if the soft-shelled eggs contributed to the extinction of non-avian dinosaurs, and the hard-shelled eggs to the survival of birds and crocodilians?
No...I actually am thinking of building a dinosaur nest myself.
Dinosaur thoughts and dreams would be a much more interesting paper. Paleopsychology!
It would be so awesome if you created videos of animals of the cenozoic epochs.
so, like some cows, trying to settle their stomachs.... a bit of ash..
Hold on , Goats are “selective “ feeders ? . . . . . Have you ever raised goats ?
Haha I have not, but I meant the way they bite their food, not the choices they make.

10:40 Cudos to the Graphic Designer who made a Frankenstein's Monster 'easteregg', eh
That "graphic designer" is actually steven himself! He's very talented
