Thank you! I just got this game today and even after reading the instructions I was still confused about a lot of things, but your video is super quick and cleared up a lot in a very straight forward manner.
Awesome, glad it helped! How’d you like the game?
same!
Great job explaining the game. I keep seeing this at Target and keep passing it up. Now I think you cleared my mind that I want to pick it up now. Thank you
You’re welcome! I’m glad it helped push you over the edge lol
Best explanation ever. Clear and short. Thank you!
Awesome! Glad it helped you out 😀
I play this with a reg deck of cards . Take out 1 suit and the Qs+Js . Use the Ks for the monarchs.
Joey Salt Awesome! That’s a great idea for when you’re camping or traveling and don’t want to pack the whole game.
Thanks for clarifying the game play, can't wait to play
Very clear and concise. Well done, and thank you!!
Sarah Barron My pleasure. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Your video helped clarify a few things for me about this game. Thank you:)
That’s great to hear, thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for this video! Just what I needed.
Awesome, love to hear that! Enjoy the game :)
Excellent, thanks so much! This so well explained and presented! It would have taken a bit of time to figure it out on my own!
Steve Thompson You’re welcome! I’m glad it helped you. What did you think of the game?
We can't stop playing it! Every game is different as strategies change throughout, and the time it takes to play is perfect!
Thanks, very well explained
You’re welcome! Happy to hear it helped you out :)
This was concise and helped me with a few hangups. Thanks!
I’m glad you found it helpful!
Thank you! My game just came in today! Excited to play! 🌟🌟🌟
Heartfelt Homes Awesome! Have you had a chance to play it yet? What did you think?
@@MyklSkeleton Yes I played a few times. It was a lot of fun. The thing that keep it really interesting is you don't want to be "Greedy" & win to many tricks or you end up with 0 points that round. The special abilities also throw in a twist! Definitely worth $13. Have you played?
Thank you for your very good explanation!
jyt74 You’re welcome! Thanks for the feedback :)
Thanks! Just played this today for #ITTD and thought I was playing it wrong, so I appreciate the explanation. Good video.
tvdavis You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped! What did you think of the game?
MyklSkeleton : My friend and I thought it was a nice little filler. I want to sleeve the cards, though. Don’t like the way they feel.
MyklSkeleton : Played it with a second person this past weekend, and it was more enjoyable than the first time. Not a favorite, but a decent game.
tvdavis Nice! I just like how it’s a trick taking game that actually works with 2. Plus my wife prefers it to Jaipur so we end up playing it when we just want a quick card game.
Thank you. Straight to the points do very comprehensive.
Spankler You’re welcome, glad you liked it!
Great tutorial! Thank you 🤓💯
You’re very welcome!
OMG THANK YOU. The instructions weren’t super clear to me
You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped you learn this awesome game!
excellent explanation
The Shogunstein Thank you, I appreciate it!
for anyone wondering they have changed the wording on the most recent prints for the 7 so it's not confusing
That’s great to hear, thanks for the update!
Great explanation :)
Glad you liked it!
Thank you!
loenigma69 You’re welcome!
Thanks the 9s had me tripped up
Caleb Yagow You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped!
what is a "trump suit"? is it any differing card of the opposing players choice or is the card facing up next to the draw pile?
It’s the suit of the card facing up next to the draw pile (called the decree card). If the opposing player can’t follow suit (ie doesn’t have the suit the first player played) then they can play another suit instead. The trump suit will beat any other suit (barring the special rules on cards).
Thank you
You’re welcome! Enjoy the game :)
Good video. I wish they would just call it a hand instead of a trick. One of those things that bugs me I guess. Wonder why they call it a trick? Might just have to research that. Thanks for the video.Take care.
I think it’s just a weird old timey thing from when trick taking games got popular. But now I want to go look it up too lol
Thanks Mike. I just picked this up for the wife and I to play.
That’s great, hope you enjoy it :)
@@MyklSkeleton we do! It’s good fun !
Same
THX
You’re welcome! I hope you enjoy the game 😀
Does it still fit in the original box after you sleeve the cards?
Yes, sleeved cards fit back in the box
Nice! What size are the sleeves?
@@Willyman1942 66x91 which is the typical Magic-sized card. I use KMC Hyper Matte Clear sleeves for any boardgame with cards that size and these are also the sleeves you see in this video: amzn.to/41weCe6
What kind of sleeves are these? I just got it for my girlfriend for xmas, and I want to sleeve it for her so it stays in good shape but I can't open it to see the size. These fit nice it seems!! :)
I use KMC Hyper Matte Clear sleeves for pretty much all my games, here's the Amazon link: amzn.to/2zhZNkG. The cards are Magic: The Gathering size so any sleeve that fits those will work. I like the KMC clears because it lets you see the back of the card and they feel really good to shuffle and use. I hope your girlfriend enjoys the game as much as we do!
MyklSkeleton awesome, good to know! Props for using KMC :P I live by that brand.
No problem, I love KMC sleeves. Thanks for checking out my video!
My man over here making call of duty got noises explains a card game
I’m afraid to even ask what that means lol. Thanks for watching anyways, hope it helped!
@@MyklSkeleton *hit noises. The little *thocks*
ooo board games
What happens if the lead player can't match the decree card?
The lead player can play any card of any suit as the first card of the trick. The other player then has to follow suit and match the lead card’s suit if possible. If they don’t have a card of that suit than they can play any card of any suit as well. Winner for the trick is the highest card of the trump suit. If nobody played a card with the trump suit then the highest card of the lead suit wins. Hope that helps!
If you’re still confused go to 1:01 and watch the explanation for how to play a trick again
So you basically have to trust that the other player picks the legal cards? Instead of just drawing whatever they want?
Yes but that’s true of all trick taking games. Plus by the end of a round you see all their cards so it’s pretty easy to track overall
You have your cards in sleeves?? .....................
Lol why yes, yes I do....
A strat is lose all battles
For sure. It’s just not as easy as it seems since there’s only 2 players. And some hands just aren’t going to lose all (or win less than 3) tricks. Sometimes the cards have their own plan lol
Or lose 4 times then win the rest
Got this game today. Seems to be a different version. It is a boardgame.
Ah, i have the duet version.
Sounds like you have Duet. It’s a co-op version where both players win or lose together. I haven’t tried it yet, let me know how you like it!
@@MyklSkeleton true! I have the duet version. It is quite easy. That was the positive side of it. Unfortunately, the presented storyline (a princess and woodcutter’s daughter look for a musician in an enchanted forest) is not at all connected to the actual game (the person with the highest hand walks and hopefully collects some gems). It doesn’t tickle the imagination.
Edit: we sufferd from beginners luck and it became hard to win the game again 🤔
Edit 2: when you start counting cards (which is really not my talent) then the game becomes more interesting!
haha this is Spades but iike the twist
What happens if you throw the same number but none are the the trump suit?
Then whoever lead the trick (played the first card) wins
( the dorky skeleton)
Much more simple than reading the rules lol
That’s always the goal but I never know if I’m doing a good job of it or not lol. Glad it helped you!
@MyklSkeleton yeah all good some games reading the rules are complicated but understood how you worded it better than the makers
Spades?
Kind of but this one plays great at the 2 player count. And has cards with special abilities! Oooooo
Wait... who wins if both players play a 9?
If both players play a 9 then the special power won’t take effect and the person who lead the trick (played the first card) will win unless the 2nd 9 actually matches the trump suit.
@@MyklSkeleton thank you! 🙏🏻
Dylans eggs is superior
Never heard of it and couldn’t find anything on Google. Is that the actual name of the game?
So if you play a 9 you win. No matter what?
Generally yes but the other player could play a 10 or 11 of the trump suit and win instead. And if both players play a 9 then you ignore the ability and resolve the trick like normal just based off the numbers and suit. So they won’t always win.

adam sandler?
I’ve heard my voice compared to Toby from The Office before but Adam Sandler is a new one! Thanks? 😆
So its stolen from Eucre :)
Yes most trick taking games are just a variation of the originals. But this one plays awesome at 2 players, which is unique and fits great with me and my wife :)
