That lady that sold you those legos is a sweetheart. She was just trying to get rid of them and didn’t want to hurt your pocket. More people like that would be highly appreciated
When you're selling stuff and get anxious sometimes your mind can get a little confused and you end up taking much less than what you should. It's usually best to let the buyer offer first. She was probably kicking herself later. Sad. I think it has something to do with your mind artificially halving numbers when it's not necessary. Like say you have $10 on two figures, and someone asks what you'd take for both of them. Instead of saying $15, your mind thinks of what would be a good deal on just one, so you say $8. Ouch! Yes I've done this! It can also go the other way. Like say you're selling comic books for 25 cents each, and someone offers you $10 for the whole box and you say no. Later, you check and you've only got $6 worth of comics in the whole box xD (this actually happened).
@@PaladinHeart That's why has a seller you should be doing your homework, if you don't know the prices, take the time you need and don't just throw numbers out, it's the norm for sellers to state their price.
@@djgates06 I don't know that I'd go that far. If he was strictly a lego reseller yeah , it would be a shitbag move. The sopwith camel is worth close to triple what he paid for all of it , but I doubt he intended to rip her off.
I bought a similar deal of legos some months back. I sold the manuals by themselves (by far the easiest of the entire job), and the mini-figs. I sold the "semi-built" toys as-is with missing pieces, (because I'm a reseller, not a Lego builder). I ran those on auctions. The rest I sorted by pulling "rare" pieces and lotting them together on auctions. There are two schools of thought as to the best way to sell bulk Legos- either by color/ style brick: or by the pound. I am currently selling them by the pound, I've sorted them all I care to, so I had no interest in putting like pieces together.

WOW on the Lego's!! That's awesome. And I saw the RC in the background. Don't underestimate them. Some can be worth upwards of $600. Remember Tamiya. I found one at a yard sale for $1, and sold it for $250. Great videos man!
As a kid, I had the gum pack with the gag spring. Hurt like heck! Never knew they did the cig pack as a gag. Could be a good sell if it's older and not a spencers store gag gift or something more recent like that.
You have gotten a great deal with the Lego. No boxes which isn’t great and no doubt a lot of parts will be missing- but even if you only have a couple of complete sets, like the Sopwith camel or the space shuttle, that’ll more than cover what you paid. And if you can source missing parts from somewhere like bricklink so you end up with more complete sets you’ll get even more back!
That candy is still for sale at big lots in kentucky they are 50 cents a pack, the exact ones with box. Also purchased same heat lamp with tags a few months back at a sale myself. Cool piece
In my opinion, sorting the LEGOS by COLOR is the best way to do it. Gives people the option to have multiple sizes and be the same color, instead of a mixed assortment.
sometimes the pre built leggos will have extra things with them as the set, I would look at the manuals an see if they have any extras that you can eyeball quickly and put with the pre-built item (and the mini figure that goes with it) I think I have more fun putting the leggos together than my 6 year old boys lol love it!!!! have fun maybe the kids could help sort them....
That was awesome! I used to buy those candy cigarettes as a kid. There were bubble gum ones too. Don't think they sell them anymore. Very nice of you to pay the woman $25 for those dvds
The mini figures are super easy to sell. It is a lot of work but it’s totally like sorting money. LEGO never goes down in value it seems, great score man!
We are about to clean house and do a yard sale. Have you ever done a video on how, or would you do a a video, on how to have a successful yard sale? Things you have seen that make a yard sale good and attractive. Do we price things individual ly, by groups or not at all? Layout, good stuff up front or spread out? What ever tips you got. Wow the walker in the top left box alone is worth more then 100 if all the figs are included, btw if you didn't know yet you could use bricklink as well to look at going prices / to buy missing pieces. The slave is also worth way more then 50. If the instructions are missing they are easy to find through lego their website or through bricklink to find the complete part list. Also make sure to try to find the correct figs with the sets so you won't be stuck with the set ( star wars minifigs will sell fast / good often)
I would be in hog heaven sorting out those Legos, lol, I enjoy that kind of stuff.😃 Great hauls, unreal, I don't know how you didn't buy more, I certainly don't have your kind of willpower, sadly lol. Enjoyed the video thank you for sharing.
Great video and some amazing scores. You go after a lot of different items like myself. The Lego lot you scored for $30 was a hell of a deal. I find lego often but I have noticed people are charging more and more for them each and every time I go out sourcing. I guess people are starting to realize the value of LEGO. I scored a huge lot awhile back and they sold really fast, sorted them and sold them in lots of 5lbs, 10lbs, and then sold all the figs separately. Great stuff, thanks for sharing
sell the miniatures over $8 on their own, Sell everything else as bulk, on Facebook marketplace say 100lbs for $3.50/lb and someone will offer $300 for everything. I sell all the Legos i get to the same woman from Dayton and she pays $4/lb unsorted.
You are so lucky. I am a lego collector I know a lot about this stuff I would recommend you to use bricklink its a site where you can sell or buy legos and learn about lego sets pieces prices and all those stuff. If you have the time I would recommend you put the sets together 1 by 1 and sell it ass complete or missing pieces. If you don't have the time you can sell it as bulk lego which you can make money off of it but not as much as if sold separately.
For the LEGO I would suggest checking Bricklink online for resale value of the sets you have. From what I could see there are a few set worth selling completed with mini figures and instructions.
I can't get over how cheap that Lego was! Here in Australia, it seems 99/100 people know how much Lego resells for and they ask top dollar. Just that green tub would be about $200 at a market or garage sale.
I bought a big lot of legos a while ago and I didn't know it at the time but they glued a bunch of them together. I haven't touched them to try and figure it out yet because I know it will take forever. I need to just bite the bullet and get it done. thanks for sharing John.
Oh man the The Beast 10th anniversary patch! That was the first year I rode it when I was 10 that made me love roller coasters! I worked at Kings island for 7 years and now I work fora local wood coaster company. I collect The Beast collectables and should love to buy that patch if you still have it
I remember the candy cigs as a kid. They had the white powder on them that you blew to look like smoke. Then as you ripped the paper off there was more powder. When all done ripping off paper you stuck the whole cig in your mouth because it was gum. They sold everything back in the day.
That cigarette pack is a gag pack. You fold the spring back and when a person reaches for a cigarette, you let the spring go and it snaps forward and smacks the person's finger. That gag was there when I was a kid (about 35-40 years ago). I haven't seen one since. It might actually be worth something.
On the cigarettes gag you hold the spring piece while you offer someone one , you release it as they go to get one and it flicks them... it’s to make friends! Haha haha. New subscriber I really enjoy your videos!
That is a killer deal. I went to an auction house because they were apparently selling Legos and they probably would've sold that much Lego for close to 1500+

Awesome man! I scored 25 lbs of Legos for $20 a few weeks ago. Still trying to figure out how to lot/sell them and if I want to keep any for my kid. =P Some of the stuff is like half-assembled...not sure if I should just disassemble everything or what since I've never sold Legos before. Any tips?
Sweet haul on the Legos. I used to sell 1000 pieces for 30.00 then the market crashed on them on Ebay. However, sets will get you good money. It just takes time to put them together. Good thing is that you got books.
2:06 I got tears in my eyes. I sell lego parts at bricklink. That pile is around 45 kg. My whole lego part store is around 52kg/43 000 parts (or around 5000 USD when every part is priced at average selling price) And here in Latvia, we do not have garage sales and such a stroke of luck as you just got.
Hey I know I’m late, but some tips for selling lego minifigures is always listing the set number they/ the minifigures come in, because if you just list “LEGO Yoda” it’s not going to get sold.
Oh man - what a lucky find. I just sold a Ghostbuster set (not complete) with a bunch of other random still in pack legos for $150. I'd of loved to find a lady like that. Great stuff. Grats.
If you have kids in the family, pay them to make sure the sets are complete and sort all the loose stuff into colors. Sell the loose stuff by the pound or in big 20 pound lots ... I recently sold 40 pounds of loose sorted Lego for 500 CA in less than an hour on Facebook Marketplace. Guaranteed you have all the pieces to make sure the sets are complete. Damn good score!!
I am so jealous, I know everything about lego and those sets you got like the sopwith camel and space shuttle go for a lot on eBay. Please start listing them so I can buy some!
Someone may have already said so, but that isn’t adobe software in the books unfortunately. It’s working files to follow along with the projects in the book. I’m curious if they still would sell since cs5 is outdated. Best of luck!
I wish the people at the garage sales I go to were as clueless to LEGO value. I am jealous of your epic LEGO score! Let me know where I can buy the LEGO from you.
I don't think she was clueless. They definitely remember what they paid for them. I think they just want to get rid of their stuff. And probably think that people who frequent yard sales aren't there to spend $100 on legos.
I know it's alot more work and probably doesn't makes sense to people but when I buy legos I try to build the sets that are in it and sell them when they're complete. I hold onto any other pieces in the lots and use them to help complete other sets down the road. Alot of work but I love legos and I enjoy piecing them together. Plus complete sets usually give you good money.
Sell the minifigs and just separate them into like Star Wars ninjago stuff like that and sell in bulk lots that’s what I would do unless you actually want to count and figure out each set up to you but sell like 10 pounds of bulk Star Wars legos listings like that and sell the instruction manuals seperatly unless they are separated into each set already idk how they are but that’s what I do when I buy alot
Find a partslist for the sets (brinklink is a great site for that). It takes a lot more work to check and find everything but you can make so much more money is you sell the sets as 100% complete.
The good thing about parents selling their kids legos is they sell them for dirt cheap, as soon as the corona passes i’m gonna see if i can pick up legos from any yard sales
I just got a 30lbs bin of legos. Its my 2nd time with legos, and i separate the people, and accessories that go with them. The fastest way to do this is take a bin big enough so 33% of space is unused. Then SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE, and just like a jar of peanuts with all the big ones rising to the top the small people, and accessories to them fall to the bottom. Then remove the bigger blocks than went to the top, and now you can sort though 2 or 3 lbs of legos for little gems instead of 30 lbs. Easily 5x faster with same result
prioritise the Sopwith Camel Lego plane ( set 10226) - use Bricklink to get the parts list. They go for up to £100 GBP over here. Also the large Star Wars sets. Good luck.
The Sopwith Camel Lego set was over $100 new by itself, and will probably sell for a lot more. You are going to make a lot of money from them, either through separation into sets, or even by the pound. As stated before, www.bricklink.com is a good place to start, as they have listings for each piece, how many of each piece, and the minifigures in each set from the old to the new, plus average prices for those sets sold and for sale(basically a database and ebay for Lego).
I think you hold the little clip back on the cigeret think and ask someone if they want one. When they go to grab one you let go of the Clip and it hits there finger and they get scared.
Wow, I just watched this Lego Sale! I love to separate things. I hope you took the long way around and separated the all the boxes. You didn't have to do it all at once.
That lady that sold you those legos is a sweetheart. She was just trying to get rid of them and didn’t want to hurt your pocket. More people like that would be highly appreciated

Man, I must say you scored really good in this video. I'm itching to hit some garage sales!
prioritise the Sopwith Camel Lego plane ( set 10226) - use Bricklink to get the parts list. They go for up to £100 GBP over here. Also the large Star Wars sets. Good luck.
16:27 you had me looking frantically for my phone lol
amen for the street fighter II crazy thats deff worth a bit mabye more then 30-40 bucks
I think I fell in love with the lego lady! :) Don't tell my wife!
Wow!! HUGE Score on those Legos!
Love the Prague picture
Candy cigarettes, that was my childhood. They stop making them and started the gum ones
That is an insane deal on the Lego! Look up Minifigures if you have any, they can be worth money.
Wow, I just watched this Lego Sale! I love to separate things. I hope you took the long way around and separated the all the boxes. You didn't have to do it all at once.
