Great idea my z71 has no e brake set up with the 5 speed now i can use it on hills and when i get out of the truck quick so it stays put will buy tommorrow saved me alot of cash
And cheap, we used a electric line lock for awhile but it would get hot and turn off after about 10 minutes We did find a manual line lock set up for like $400 But this was $30 can’t beat the price
We use this to lock all 4 wheels instead off just front or rear We no longer use this on the jeep We purchased a taser Which used the abs solinoids to lock all four wheel in “anchor” mode for winching
@@matt.mckinzie - Can you explain how the Tazer Anchor Mode works? I can't for the life of me get it to work on my Gladiator. In Park? Foot to the floor - pull in the High Beam (toward the steering wheel) and nothing happens. I'm on the newest Firmware. I actually came to see what you were using and was probably going to rig up what you have here in the video until I saw this comment.
@@Spyder-ManAdventures the anchor mode works in 2wd or 4hi and not 4lo We hate that fact but took us a bit to figure out Let me know if that works for you Yes hold brake pull high beam Oh one more you have to turn on the setting called brake hold Where if your stopped at a light and you push hard on the brake in D it also holds the brake That setting has to be enabled to use anchor mode
@@matt.mckinzie - I did not realize brake hold had to be on to use anchor mode. I don’t see that in the instructions from ZA. I’m certain that’s my issue. Thanks!
Tow trucks have a button “winch brake” that applies the brakes during a winch job Regular vehicles do not For a electric brake lock add on kit your looking at $500 A line lock kit around $300 We lock the brakes up to take some of the force off the ujoints and other drivetrain components during a winch job

Works equally well on the gas pedal. 😉
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's a brilliant idea I never even thought of that
thanks... I got no parking brake working at all...... this will solve my issue and add winch Brake at same time. Mucho Appreicato.
You're welcome!
It definitely worked well for us for 2 years and counting
I like that pipe ribbit gun where did you buy that at
When you were using this (before the Tazer) - were you leaving the vehicle in N or in P with this in place?
Park and with E brake applied
I like that idea, very clever indeed. 😊👍👍🦘🇦🇺🦘

Awesome!!!!!
Hopefully this set up will work for ya
@@matt.mckinzie definitely going to try it out cause it’s way cheaper than the line lock we were gonna install.
@@TowMan127 most line locks only do one axle also
This does all
@@matt.mckinzie the one we were looking at does all 4 but still $400
Nice. I plumbed in a ball valve to my rear brake line.

For clarification... Do I understand right.... you suggest cutting with it collapsed so the inner bar gets cut too.
yes
Why do you need this when you can just use your left foot?
Not sitting in the truck and using a wireless winch remote
I thought line lock was a term for locking just front wheels for burnout purposes 😂
We use them for a winch brake
What would be the purpose for that? Maybe its just late but I don't get it. Not being a dick, just want to know.
