We might be able to help! Are asking where does the main power into the fuse box come from? You don’t have power at your fuse box? Just trying to understand better
@@theroygarage yes that’s exactly what I was saying. I pulled my engine and labeled the starter, alternator, oil pressure, temp sensor and distributor wires but I didn’t find a wire coming from my distributor. Also there was a wire coming from the IGN “ignition” on my fuse box and I didn’t know what it was there. So there’s no power wire coming from the fuse box to the battery to power it?? I have a 81 Caballero 3.8 V6 if that makes any difference.

@@theroygaragewill the starter wire to the fuse block be in the wires from the plugs on the firewall? I forgot the name of the plugs on the firewall. I believe they’re called bulkhead plugs.

Thanks! 🙏🏼
Would you guys happen to know where the power wire to the fuse box goes? My fuse box is missing the power wire.

🤔 usually the power to the fuse box comes from the starter solenoid on the starter.
I believe the IGN comes from your starter switch to the distributor. classiccarwiring.com/products/1980-chevy-malibu-el-camino-color-wiring-diagram
Check out that link, let me know if that helps. I’m shooting from the hip but LeRoy is going to look at the El Co and let you not what he sees.
