Anyone who says Lewis is only winning now in F1 becasue of Mercedes should watch some of these kart races. He is pure class and bursting with talent in all conditions.
As a rookie in F1 he was paired with record-young double world champion Fernando Alonso at McLaren. He scored 6 poles to Alonso's 2, lead 321 laps (most of all drivers that year in fact) to Alonso's 203, and scored 9 consecutive podiums from his debut race which still is the record for any driver in his debut season and still the 12th best consecutive podium streak of all time. Due to McLaren's mistake of keeping him out too long with worn tires in China and the early malfunctioning gearbox issue in Brazil he lost a well-deserved rookie title. At any rate he finished 2nd behind Raikkonen with just a single point. Those who say he only wins due to his current Mercedes didn't see Hamilton back then and his McLaren days. In 2008 he was leading the point standings for 14 out of the 18 races and his win in the rain at Silverstone where he won the race with 1 minute and 9 seconds over the 2nd placed driver, not even Schumacher's best rain victories ever had such a huge winning margin and neither did Senna's legendary 1985 Portugal win. Senna's 1993 Donington win is better but that's one of the greatest race wins in motor racing history. In 2010 a puncture at the Spanish GP on the second last lap denied Hamilton a certain 2nd place finish. 18 more points. Enough to make him 2010 champion in fact. In 2012 McLaren's reliability let him down, he was 15th in reliability among the drivers that year. The Marussia car raced more laps in 2012 (2158 laps) than McLaren (2150 laps). People also forget that he put that bad 2009 McLaren on pole 4 times that year, compared to the far superior Brawn car with its blown diffuser and the Red Bull - both of which Button and Vettel put on pole 4 times each. As for Mercedes being the best. In 2014-2015-2016. In 2017 and 2018 not so much. The 2017 Ferrari was competitive and arguably better on some tracks. The 2018 Ferrari was the faster car overall but Vettel missed the title through several mistakes. Now we know the power unit of the 2018-2019 Ferraris were illegal which would explain their speed. Nonetheless Hamilton was champion with a legal car, which certainly wasn't clearly the best in 2017 and 2018. If the Mercedes team is the best Hamilton has a crucial role in that. A great driver makes a team work harder on all levels. A great driver motivates everybody to do better. This is why Schumacher could rebuild Ferrari but Vettel couldn't.
@@bertmurphy8096 I bet he pays every bit of tax that he is required to pay. Exactly the same as you and I do. If you are complaining about the lack of tax he pays to the UK, can I ask how much tax you pay to Croatia? You mean you don't pay any tax to Croatia because you don't live there...........

Lewis will become the greatest F1 driver of all time. I have watched him through all his formulas. Schumacher, although a great driver, was a cheat. How many times did he shunt his opponents off. Damon Hill as an example. I have never seen Lewis be unfair. He is a true racer. He has my utmost respect.
I'm not about to jump on the "greatest driver of all time" bandwagon, but there can be no doubt that he has an incredible and rare level of talent. Lewis has pulled a few unsportsmanlike moves, but they are rare - he simply doesn't have to. And he doesn't have the absolute control regarding his teammates that Schumacher had. Yes, there have been times that Bottas's raise has been compromised for the sake of Lewis, but for the most part, the team plays fair - the driver who is faster on the day gets the preferred strategy. Schumacher's teammates *had to* play second fiddle to him. There's no doubt that the complete dominance of Mercedes in the hybrid plays a major role in Hamilton's success - if drivers like Leclerc and Verstappen had a car equal to the Mercedes, he wouldn't be dominating the driver standings like he has been - but dismissing his success as being due simply to the car is nothing but an ignorant denial of his abilities.
@@valerierodger7700 When I said totally agreed I meant about Schumacher's cheating, Hamilton isn't on the same planet in that respect but I do agree with you on not being able to name the greatest ever and you make some good points

I don't think Hamilton has any desire to do that, he is creating his own legacy, not copying the old ones. Kids of the next generation wont be dreaming of the red car they'll be dreaming of the silver (or black) one. Ferrari have a great history, but just being Ferrari isn't good enough anymore. I'd love to see them be the best again, but if we are being honest, I think you'd have to say that it hasn't been the case for a while; 12 years or so. It was at Hamilton s old kart track please help me😢
Anyone who says Lewis is only winning now in F1 becasue of Mercedes should watch some of these kart races.
The kid with the No.44 kart looks like he might win a F1 championship or two in future
Haters will say he used the party mode.
No, it's the lucky conker

I was a couple of months old, now I’m 22 year old Lewis Hamilton fan. Time flies...
December 2021... He missed his 8th F1 world champion title in the last lap of the last race!!! What a legend!
*He was robbed of his 8th championship because of Masi breaking FIA rules TWICE to gift the win to Max.
We all know he really won No 8. It’s just that FIA chose to hand to Ver-strap on and his girlfriend Karen Horner.
4 time world champion now
7th perhaps
7 already
and on to the 8th
if anybody can..LEWIS CAN ....LITTLE DID HE KNOW
Goddamn! These cart races can heat up your blood, they are so exciting. That was one beast hunting by Hamilton.
He deserves everything he has achieved, worked really hard to get where he is today.
He could pay a bit more TAX though
@@bertmurphy8096 I bet he pays every bit of tax that he is required to pay. Exactly the same as you and I do.
If you are complaining about the lack of tax he pays to the UK, can I ask how much tax you pay to Croatia?
You mean you don't pay any tax to Croatia because you don't live there...........
@@ohidontknow1061 So a "Tax Haven" is not somewhere you go to avoid tax!
@@bertmurphy8096 I thought he resided in Monaco, I didn't know that it was called Monaco, the tax haven......
Still doesn't matter, he's done nothing wrong, neither illegal or immoral so, where he choses to live is nothing to do with any of us.
I bet you could pay a bit more TAX though......
@@bertmurphy8096 You'd do it if you could afford to
Lewis will become the greatest F1 driver of all time. I have watched him through all his formulas. Schumacher, although a great driver, was a cheat. How many times did he shunt his opponents off. Damon Hill as an example. I have never seen Lewis be unfair. He is a true racer. He has my utmost respect.
Paul Henry, Totally Agreed!
True dat
@@valerierodger7700 When I said totally agreed I meant about Schumacher's cheating, Hamilton isn't on the same planet in that respect but I do agree with you on not being able to name the greatest ever and you make some good points
Everyone be saying its the car and hes just lucky but this proves he is an trye talent at his sport
Love him or hate him, he's the best
If you hate him that says a lot about you
Hard to see who's who there, so many of them wearing Ayrton's lid design! I think our Lewis certainly does it justice!

The king from over 20 years ago.
Lewis wasn't gifted a F1 seat he earn it all the up tru the ranks, winning championship at al levels ,and almost won in rockie yr in f1
His techniques and style now are very similar.
I can't stop laughing...the #26 signaling that he was going to crash on the next corner.....LOL!!

This boy will be a legend one day if he races F1... Just saying... mark my words..

funny how nowadays if it rains like that in practice people head for the pits and go home and then wonder why they cant race in the wet
I'm better in the wet lol

His rich dad made a secret deal with the tire manufacturer. They mixed the tire compound with Pattex glue, exclusively sold on Amazon.
Sarcasm mode off.
I think that this guy with n°44 will became the GOAT
One of the best drivers in history, I wish to see him on a “red f1 car” one day 🤞🏻
I don't think Hamilton has any desire to do that, he is creating his own legacy, not copying the old ones.
I think LH will try to take 2022 and then retire a legend, though I'm sure it will be tempting to bail after next year if he wins, what do you think?
bizarrefruit I totally agree with you, I was just saying that I have this (maybe impossible) dream to see him driving the most prestigious car ever
Not on their current form. Be like Ronaldo going to play for Southend United. Never gonna happen.
Just love this commentator
