I've watched this many times now, and I really appreciate Shane asking if Ryan is alright after seeing him truly scared. He would joke around a lot, rebuffing Ryan's claims most of the time, but seeing how really shaken Ryan was, he really tried to console Ryan and agreeing that Ryan might have encountered something

I did do some ghost hunting in St. Augustine. A few places are built on a burial ground. The Potter Wax musuem I think was one and im not sure if the fort or Ripleys was.

that sounds kind of sweet to be honest. like, they’re together in the lighthouse after death and he wanted to make sure she got a chance to talk to them since they probably haven’t been able to. it would explain why she asked why he was leaving, because they don’t understand why he’s scared of her which is sad. they were probably just trying to have a conversation and didn’t know what they did wrong :(

24:05 two theories: if this is saying "swap me" then I think it's Eliza switching out with Joseph, who then precedes to talk about falling off the roof. But I think that this actually says "Not Me", because Ryan has been talking with Joseph the whole time, and picked up him talking to Eliza. I think at least three ghosts are here during this, because while Ryan is freaking out over 23:54, there are a bunch voices talking in the background that sound farther away, as if they're further up the stairs.

See, this is probably one of my favorite episodes. It's mainly because none of the ghosts here seem to have any kind of malicious intent, it's all very sad what happened to them, but the worst case scenario here is just a grumpy guy who'd rather you aren't there. But everyone there, in my mind seems fairly kind and welcoming. It's also one of the most active places, and to me, that shows that people don't need to be afraid of all ghosts.

Not going to lie, having been there several times in my life, it can be unnerving. Even during the day in the hottest parts of summer, you can sometimes find freezing cold patches as you're climbing up the tower. It has no air conditioning in the actual lighthouse itself. There have often been times you can feel dread or like someone is watching or touching you, even if you're climbing alone. There was one incident on a school trip of mine that our teacher got a bad feeling and told all of us who were in the group to move back. Seconds later? The railing around the lighthouse started wobbling violently as if it was about to tear off. There was no wind. I never booked it down stairs so fast.
Eliza sounded so sweet and approachable I feel so bad for her she’s trapped there for eternity:( I would go back and visit her she sounded so desperate for company and someone to listen to her

yeah I just went there tonight for the Dark of the Moon tour and saw the mural, was like "oh, it wasn't a ghost after all"
This story is so sad and true . There is actual sightings during the day and night by actual visitors and workers . This is a beautiful lighthouse with so much history. St. Augustine is the best place to capture any ghosts and to go ghost hunting. They also give ghost tours . The whole town is haunted ! But St. Augustine is so BEAUTIFUL ❤

just watched this episode (currently exploring the series), this by far the best episode, because Ryan literally had a conversation with the spirit box not just the usual gibberish or random words, it literally send a chill down my spine when Ryan tried to leave the lighthouse, and whoever that was, asked "why are you leaving?"
This is one of the more convincing episodes I think - the fact the “Eliza” was so clear and the repeating of “chimney” in “fell off a chimney” made it seem actually coherent. The added “you hear me” as well - it’s like the ghost is surprised the spirit box works lmao. Still don’t fully believe in ghost, but 10/10 ghost-y stuff

From what I understand a spirit box is supposed to switch from one radio station to another so quickly that without supernatural intervention the random syllables, static, and music would just be nonsense..... however when this spirit box does put together a complete word or phrase.... it's always ALL from the same station..... which means that the spirit box they use doesn't actually switch as quickly or as randomly as it is supposed to.
If this spirit box produced a word or phrase out of multiple different radio stations' syllables, the probability that could happen on random is so slim. That could be really compelling evidence, especially if it says something relevant or long. But so far, all it seems they've done is just listen to a radio set to scan.
I think they're kind of annoyed with it and just don't put much faith in the evidence it provides anymore. #postmortem (tell us what you guys really think about how effectively the spirit box works if you aren't cowards, Shane and Ryan)

ive been rewatching the series recently and wow, ryan's solo investigation has to be the best piece of evidence they have ever captured. whoever or whatever that was was having a genuine, intelligent conversation with him. gives me chills!
Despite all the evidence that was captured in this episode I still couldn’t really focus because I was thinking about the cat successfully parachuting from the top. I mean what happened after that? Did the boy continue to develop and improve his design? I feel like that deserves more attention. Imagine parachutes for dogs, cats, and other animals around that size. Talk about life changing.

This honestly (if there is actually a ghost there) broke my heart because they probably where really surprised someone wanted to hear and talk to them. I finally got the chance to visit St. Augustine recently. I unfortunately sprained my ankle before the lighthouse trip… No, that did not stop me from making the 400+ steps of the building (counting going back down). Definitely recommend the city. It’s beautiful, and has a very cool lighthouse to boot.

People theorize it's because Ryan is a believer and Shane is not. If you were a supposed ghost, why would you bother trying to talk to someone who is just going to mock you? Ryan actually takes the time to try to listen and speak with them. It makes sense to me.

i know this is kind of a meme, but really i think the spirits are afraid of shane. or they just plain don't like him. like imagine you were just vibing somewhere and some giant lanky man comes through the door being loud and pestering his friend/you. i wouldn't wanna talk to him either. most ghosts are totally harmless and even somewhat shy, so a person like ryan who is gentle for the most part and open to a two way conversation is more likely to draw out responses from them.

I think this is still a really great episode, we don't see a full, swift conversation over the spirit box like that very often where a ghost answers coherently in most of these episodes. If I'm honest most spirit box noises from this old series just sounds like garbled nothing to me, so this actually seems like a real ghost (to me at least)
