I just have to love every song of Metallica equally.
hello
This tier list will get a lot of reactions!! You gotta watch it all the way through!
Thanks sis!
You two are the most wholesome siblings and my only goal on UA-cam is to get famous enough I can travel to Canada and meet you guys and drum w u
Stop you self and dont advice you brother i like you not him so im here to unsub but im not subbet this is you fault 😢
Awesome list! Death Magnetic is literally in my top 3, it came out when I was 11, and it was the first new album I got by them, it has been special to me since I was a kid, I'm 26 now and it still holds alot of memories for me "The Day That Never Comes" is in my top 5 Metallica songs! I love pretty much every album. 72 Seasons was an Awesome comeback for such a wait! It was a grower at first but it rips!
Thanks so much! Death Magnetic is definitely a great album!
You're right on death magnetic. It really is the most underrated album of metallica🤘
Those comments about Load being forgettable hurt my soul slightly! I would have to disagree about Reload being ranked higher than Load, but hey everyone has their own personal favs. Keep rockin!!!
Also, 100% agree about Death Magnetic. Absolutely belongs in the A tier. It can definitely be argued that it is their best since the Black Album.
I know right, Load is so good, and it showed that Metallica could play something other than thrash metal and make it great.
Finally someone else who likes Death Magnetic!
My god, someone finally said it out loud - Death Magnetic is a great fucking album. Especially James vocals, imho the best ones he ever did. I also, no shit, have bumps on my skin when I hear All Nightmare Long ending
Load/Reload is what happens when a band decides to release all the B-sides as album tracks, resulting in one good album divided into two mediocre albums.
I think it’s a pretty good tier list! I agree on much things.
Dude what a great tier list! I’m not lying when I say I’d rate everything exactly the same (if I could put aside my bias for Kill ‘em All). The love for Death Magnetic nearly brought a tear to my eye lol.
Death Magnetic is severely underrated! Will never stop giving it a little bit of spotlight.
Great tier list! Yours is kinda similar to mine. I'll put it here:
S: Black Album, Master Of Puppets, Ride The Lightning, Kill Em All,...And Justice For All
A: Hardwired To Self Destruct
B: 72 Seasons, Death Magnetic, Load
C: Reload
D: St Anger (of course)
Great list!
You should do the same thing with Korn too! Great video! 🔥
Thanks! Korn would be a great one
Although my tierlist would be a lot different I still liked how you explained yourself really well. At the end of the day everyone has their own opinions. I grew up with Death Magnetic which also got me into Metallica. So that's my favourite album. I honestly prefer their modern sounding albums to their first although I respect the first 4 as well and love some songs of them. I think the past 4 albums James' vocals just have so much depth yet still having that punch. The riffs are really heavy, unique and catchy. (I think James got overrall better over the years) Solos and drumming were better in the 80s. The bass playing has always been great with each bassist. But that's just me and preference
Here's mine:
S: DM
A: 72, HWTSD, St.Anger, MoP
B: Reload, AJFA, KEA, RTL
C: Black Album, Load
Excellent video, thank you! Your insight is amazing for your age
Lars was the reason for AJFA not having bass because he claimed it messed with his drumming so he told the mixer to turn down the bass where you can barley hear it
Face reveal at 100k?
Yes
Newer gonna happen 😅
72 seasons
Comes out on my moms birthday exactly
LOVE IT MR, watching from Northern part of India (Nagaland)
What a wonderful review
Thank you
Metallica is my life. I absolutely live and breathe these four guys and the music they create. It was an absolute pleasure to finally hear someone give Death Magnetic the praise it deserves. It's an amazing thrash album. I figured that if they released this album before the black album it would have gone down as a great. Some people's veiw of Metallica changed because they apparently "sold out" after the Black Album. So regardless of what they put out it would always come with a lot of criticism.
Only thing I would change with your tier list would be putting 72 Seasons behind Death Magnetic in A tier . I can't stop listening to it , the riff in Chasing Light and the harmonies/double bass towards the end of Room of Mirrors are just a couple of examples of this album making the the hair on the back on my neck stand up. I would also put the Black Album in the same tier but behind the other three.
Im also a drummer!!
Great video bud.
I'm one of those thrash guys who loves the first 4 albums, personally my favorite is Kill Em All for the pure raw passion present in it. Really the other 3 go on cycles depending on my mood that day. The new stuff from the black album to 72 seasons just is a step down for me personally. I liked the covers on garage inc though, like crash course in brain surgery, the prince, breadfan, and die die my darling.
My tier list my opinion. 11 load. 10 reload. 9 lulu. 8 Garage inc / garage days.
7 kill em all. 6 black album / st anger .
5 death magnet / beyond magnet
4 hardwired to self destruct. 3 72 seasons 2 justice for all. 1 Ride the lightning / Master of puppets of course
I grew up in the late 80s and early 90s so my favorites are from then and before but I love hearing opinions. I love this form of content. You freaking rock!
Thanks! Glad you liked it🤘
That's a awesome tier list, I would just change some things, like the nlack album in first and 72SEASONS on A tier, but that's your opinion and most people opinion but still incredible list
Ghostface you should get a very small mic for the inside of your mask to try and get rid of your voice being muffled in these types of videos where you don't play the drums. And I'm just making a suggestion.
I can tell the difference: Hardwired…To Self-Destruct sounds a little harsher and more like Death Magnetic in terms of overcompressing, while 72 Seasons sounds wider, defined and the bass is always audible and the whole thing isn‘t overcompressed.
This was a great tier list. I would say my tier list would look almost identical to this one.
S: Master of Puppets, ...And Justice For All, Death Magnetic, The Black Album
A: Ride the Lightning, Load
B: 72 Seasons, Kill 'Em All, Hardwired... To Self-Destruct, Reload
C: St. Anger
D:
good underrated list
dm is sooooooooooo goood
Thank you! DM is sooo Underrated
My Apocalypse is, in my opinion, by far their best modern song.
Kill em all is there best album in my opinion
Room if Mirrors allow should bump 72 seasons up a tier
You need to have an F spot on the tier list
Yo can you do a tier list for slipknot albums
crazy train is the most iconic metal song of all time
as long as you put kill em all in the first place and after the black album everyone in the last place the video is good
Watch it now and tell me what you think!
I FULLY agree with this list
🤘
4:54 eh his lyrics are be questionable ahem "wish i may wish i might" and "bitch you ain't mine"
Looking forward to it
Thanks for watching!
Nice list but for me 72 seasons is an A. I’ll give you the solo’s aren’t the best kirk has ever written. I feel the mix is superior to anything since the 90’s. And I’ve just seen complaints around that it feels like older material and that makes it feel boring. Like I can see how some people feel that way, but I personally think that’s the biggest strength of the album, coming from someone who listens to the first 5 albums 99% of the time I’m so glad that they turned back the clock 30 years and delivered a relevant message at the same time.
Really good point! The more I listen to 72 seasons, the more I like it!
metallica is a mega band,🤘🤘👏👏🙌🙌🔥🔥💯💯
Facts
A big fan of Metallica is right here from Malaysia.😊🤘🤟
I gotta say that was a great review i agree the only thing I'd change is rtl & mop are tied!!🤘
Thanks Lou
Metal blog!!🤘🥁
The first Metallica album I ever heard - was 72 Seasons (yeah, I got into Thrash Metal really, really late, with Lux Æterna being the first ever Metallica song I ever heard), and that is why I really, really love 72 Seasons, as I have that bond untold with the album. Also, St. Anger is a really great album, I’ve listened to the remastered version of it, and it just sounds amazing! I really do wish that Metallica puts out a remastered edition of St. Anger. One can only hope so.
But still, I respect your opinion. A great tier list overall, just 72 Seasons’ rating made me sad a little bit.
I think that’s a fair list, a few things I disagree on but it’s not bad. The most notable ones are I think 72S should go to A tier and I believe Kill em all is very overrated and should go to C tier. I know people will hate me for that but it’s true
Great job and analysis for us Metallica fanatics.
Breash of freth air
That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in a while
Almost as funny as me saying I have a future
😂
@@GhostFacedrummer IM NEARLY IN TEARS THAT YOU JUST RESPONDED TO AND HEARTED MY COMMENT YOUR MY FAVOURITE UA-camR
My top Metallica albums are The Black Album, Garage Inc, And Justice For All, & Load. Speaking of which, you and little sis must checkout Metallica: The Blacklist (if that counts), absolutely unbelievable tribute to the Black album by a potpourri of many amazing bands/singers!!!!
Thanks for watching a great list!
@@GhostFacedrummer Your more than welcome GhostFace. Hopefully before the summers out, the two of you can "get done" (in the words of little sis) the Wayne's World solo challenge. Thank you so much to both of you for trying your best to make it happen, just remember at the end, she tells you "Wow, You're amazing bro!" and you tell her "Wow, You're amzing sis!"
My opinion :
12 GARAGE INC
11 ST ANGER
10 LOAD
9 72 SEASONS
8 DEATH MAGNETIC
7 RELOAD
6 HARDWIRED
5 MASTER OF PUPPETS
4 METALLICA
3 KILL EM ALL
2 RIDE THE LIGHTNING
1 AND JUSTICE FOR ALL
Respect 🤘
Good List so far, although I do not agree completely. For me it would be:
S: AJFA, RTL, MOP
A: TBA
B: HWTSD, LOAD, KEA
C: SA, 72S
D: DM, RELOAD
Death Magnetic below St Anger? WTF?
@@gabrielpaiva9070 Death Magnetic imo is a boring and muddy mess. Only listenable track is That Was Just Your Life. Everything else is just bland to me. At least St Anger sounds different and interesting in a way and apart from lenghty tracks and a lot of cringe lyrics the album got energy. Also The Unnamed Feeling alone is a much more enjoyable song than whole of DM
@@premiumpils7623 Okay, your opinion. Was just kinda surprised.
Master of puppets is an amazing song no doubt, but it’s not even in my top 20 for them, certainly not the greatest metal song of all time, I think that goes to One or For Whom The Bell Tolls
You named every song from Justice except for "One" lmao
Bro Load and Reload are the best two Metallica records. They are the top s teirs but thats my opinion. Rock on.
Megadeth tier list?????
Will work on it!
@@GhostFacedrummer hell yeah brother
Glad to see St. Anger down at the bottom where it belongs. That one was terrible! 😂
Feels wrong not to have Kill in top 3
I honestly think that AJFA would have been better the MOP if the bass was there. Seriously! Go listen to "and justice for jason". It sounds so BEEFY with the bass
No Lulu? lol
Is that you Lars?
😂
Death Magnetic is definitively underrated. You still rated it too low it’s the best album.
Load & Reload are deserving of way higher, to put them below Hardwired and Death Magnetic is wrong. Not on a opinion level at that stage, just wrong. Load and Reload are both so well-rounded, dark, moody. It's hard-edge enough to be heavy, but the emotional journey they take you on is indescribable. The production is impeccable from my standpoint. The mix in my opinion is some of the best they've ever done, much thanks to Bob. To put Hardwired and Death Magnetic above them from even that standpoint alone is just wrong, have you listened to the initial master of Death Magnetic for God sake? You talking about 'louder guitars' strangely instead of commenting on what I would of thought to be your speciality 'the kick drum'. In terms of both albums the kick drum's level is what I would reduce. You're talking about fact they fixed the 'trash' thing when Reload released? Yeah ballads like 'Low Man's' & grooving tracks like 'Wild Things' and 'Carpe Diem' don't just tick the trash box I would say. People and you included are not necessarily directly comparing them to their older albums but I can't shy away for the fact that most of the reviews are coming from a perspective of oh "it's Metallica" so it must sound like "this." These Load and Reload retrospectives come across as lousy, half-hearted first impressions. I mean you're taking about 2x4 as being a stand out track while also complaining about whining vocals, have you heard the chorus? And of course the break down bridge with it's shitty pentatonic double stop sound like pure grease. Where's 'Sleeps' 'Bleeding me' and or 'House That Jack Built'? Those including 'Outlaw Torn' would be the strongest tracks without a doubt. Same with Reload, songs such as 'Wild Things' 'Carpe Diem' and what must be their best ballad from the discography 'Low Man's Lyrics' You talk about trash but failed to mention 'Prince Charming'? I'd find that strange. Look the low's of the records are low and I get that, but they deserve way more recognition than what they get. Calling them 'Dad Rock' is simply not appropriate if your wanting to actually rate something based on your opinion. And no this is not coming from some 40 year old, this is coming from a 15 year old Prog rock/Metal lover, who happens to enjoy Metallica.
lulu is so bad it isnt on the list?
Lulu is not à Metallica Album, but à Lou Reed one
There are 2 types of Metallica fans - Number 1 people who know where to place good albums and bad albums, Number 2 Brain dead (this video) since when is and justice for all S and KIll em all is A that is the most stupid thing i have ever seen. Kill em all is literally an album that you cant skip because every song is perfect. yes Dave Mustaine wrote some songs on their but Metallica perfected the songs. you can go to Megadeths first album Killing is my buisness and buisness is good and hear the original version of the four horseman and it is literally one of the worst songs on the album. not saying megadeth is bad because yes they have good stuff but every song that Dave wrotr for them was horrible until Metallica messed around with it and made them better. and getting to and justice for all, this album only has 4 songs that you cant skip One, To live is to die, blackened and ...and justice for all every other the song is 😴🥱. I dont know why you thought that putting those 2 albums in those certain places was a good idea. Also why the hell is and justice for all have i higher rank then ride the lightning. you are basically saying that Jason Newsted is better than Cliff burton which is the most idiotic thing i have ever heard a Metallica fan say.
There’s this new thing it’s called personal opinion and preference… spooky ain’t it 🤦♂️ btw AJFA kicks KEAs ass all the way to Pluto 🤷♂️
My guy what are you on? No way you just said all this 💀
@@hank35682 AJFA has got no bass in it at because Ulrich is stupid. That's why the black album is so much better and was way more popular. And kill em all will always be an S tier album. Nothing beats cliff Burton's insane solo and bass lines, kirk's perfect playing when he was actually good and didn't need to use a wah pedal for ever song. James hetfields vocals were unbeatable and perfect aswell, and Lars drumming was better I guess.
Would love to see more of these kind of videos!
Thanks man! Which band do you wanna see next?
@@GhostFacedrummer Probably slipknot! A lot of great albums 😆
Metallica Musik 🎧👍 Playlist Live Musik Concert 🎧😉
Pleeease do this with Slipknot
Best album is Kill 'em All, then Ride The Lightning definitely then it becomes subjective...😂🤣🤘
🔥🎸🔥
That's actually a good ranking except i like kea a little bit better than black
Do one on Pantera hell yeah 🤘
Will add to the list!
this is the ranking of metallica albums that I WILL AGREE, black album and justice is at the top with ride the lightning, I LIKE THIS......BUT....Reload is supposed to be in tier A and Load is suppose to be in tier B...Master is only a tier A
Thanks for watching, I hear you!
This is a great list, I agree with Death Magnetic. The day that never comes was the reason I got into Metallica, and Master of Puppets is my favorite.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
The snare on St. Anger is so horrible yet so iconic it's crazy. Load is an album you should listen to then come back to a few years later because there are so many hidden gems on Load. Hardwired isn't the worst album but the songs can be a little long and drag. ReLoad just like Load is an album you need to listen to and come back to because there are so many hidden gems on there. Honestly I think 72 Seasons is a way better Hardwired. Your take on Death Magnetic is absolutely perfect the guitars on that album have a beautiful tone in my opinion it's an album I need to relisten to. But other than that great list.
Haven't listen to Metallica in long time, but when I recently decided to re-listen their stuff again just like the good old days "And justice for all" is my favourite album my them!
You should make more videos like this! You should do Megadeth next 😂
Thanks! Will add it for sure🤘
Please do Avenged Sevenfold next!
Great idea, great band!
Somehow, I can hear a bit of Jason’s bass and he is amazing on Justice!
i love this make more like these , do slayer or megadeth next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
come on man Load deserves B at least in my opinion it is A. Yellow Album is C.
Can you do some weezer covers?
Awesome review Ghost Face. Thanks, Animal
Room of Mirrors is underrated bro. It doesn’t get mentioned enough.
a bresh of freth air🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i like your list, is pretty solid and I agree on almost everything, EXCEPT of course the Kill'em all pick, that's an S tier, considering the year, the sound, the genre defining style, the vocals... imagine being a skateboarder, still teenager guy (like James) and deliver this level of a masterpiece, S++ tier
Good point!
You forgot Loulou
1. Master Of Puppets
2. Ride The Lightning
3. Kill 'Em All
4. ...And Justide For All
5. Black Album
🤘💀🤘
Great list.
I wish you the best of luck cause that's gonna be tough!! I'll be there!!
Great tier!
Thanks Ryan!
@@GhostFacedrummer No problem bro!
I clicked off when he put AJFA in second
😂
imo s tier is scuffed imo mop>rtl>ajfa>tba
Marcs.
Yooo I love the commentary style video!! I also really respect your opinions on the albums!! Keep up the drums and would love to see more videos like this!
This is really cool. Thanks for taking the time.
S Tier: DM, RTL, JFA, KEA, MOP
A Tier: Black Album, 72 Seasons
B Tier: Load
C Tier: Reload, Hardwired
D Tier: St Anger
Good ranking!
@@GhostFacedrummer Ty yours too
Unpopular opinion:
I prefer Death Magnetic and Load over The Black Album.
Totally respect that..just wondering, why?
@@GhostFacedrummer to me, Black Album feels more "dad rock" than Load. Some of the songs on Load really spoke to me when I was dealing with depression and anxiety (Bleeding Me, Until It Sleeps, Outlaw Torn). Load also feels more experimental than Black. Maybe the overexposure of Black Album had something to do with it - Sandman, I think is good, but it's not in my top 10 - I prefer God That Failed and Through the Never.
As for Death Magnetic, I started listening to rock during the Nu Metal era so when older kids told me about Metallica, it was during the St Anger period so it was a bit of a turn off (although Unnamed Feeling is one of the tracks I keep going back to, for the same reason I mentioned those 3 songs from Load). So, Magnetic was the first of their album I actually bought. Then hearing For Whom The Bell Tolls on Zombieland opened my eyes to "classic Metallica".
Having said that, Justice is my favorite - even if bass guitar is my main instrument. I can play a few songs from the first three albums on bass, most of Black Album but Justice is waaaay out of my league.
to each their own man. personally Black Album is one of my favorite albums in all of music but Load is cool too
