The issue is that many of these need more space than he’s showing and he doesn’t have time to actually explain all the care and time that most of these plants require. He makes it seem easy which encourages people to want to do it, but if you only followed what he does you won’t understand your plants and/or what challenges you face along the way. You could argue tho that that’s a good thing because hopefully more people would research about the plants…but he also gives some clearly untrue information in some of his videos too.
I just did this a few days ago in my apartment window and I have a bunch of very nice sprouts growing as we speak. I dislike food waste and your life hacks are fantastic.
i’ve sent this channel to so many family members and they’ve all started planting once again indoors and outdoors. the charisma this guy has just makes you wanna start planting lol.
Use a bigger pot than that please. Needs room to bulb. Not sure about the garlic skins thing, but know for a fact that you should powder the skins so they are actually bioavailable to the plant’s roots Edit: more garlic facts for those interested: you need the room because the garlic clove is going to grow more cloves, which growers call this process to “bulb up”. You need the garlic to be buried, you cannot suspend it in or above water. It takes a long time to grow and most plant their cloves in the winter before their first frost (you can check when that is in your area by looking up your hardiness zone for garlic) and won’t get their garlic harvest until about summertime. You can eat the garlic greens (called garlic scapes). When your garlic flowers (a very pretty purple flower), you’re going to want to cut it off so that all the energy it was putting to making a flower will go to the bulb itself. Watch out for mold and rot (don’t over water) and add mulch around the stems of the garlic to keep moisture levels up! Hope this helps!
My goodness! Every video of this wonderful guy is golden! The things I learned from him on the 7th video is what I would have learned in two years just browsing on others sites. He is incredible! A walking encyclopedia of HACKS!
Your vibe is sooo cool.. Haha at first it was intense but hey! You're different and informative.. I love it! Keep it up man. Love the water spill! Glad you didn't edit it out. 😂
Lol please believe me when I say, these videos have changed my gardening and planting skills !!! I have two mango seeds (my favorite mini mangos btw 🤤) that are beginning to sprout !!
How long does it take to harvest from growing in water first to planting in soil ? Mine has a ton of long roots and about a foot long shoot on the top. So I planted it in dirt about a week ago but how do I know when to harvest it ?
It won’t grow a whole new garlic bulb unless you planted outside in October. Garlic bulbs need to be in the ground and freeze for roughly 40 days before they will start the process that grows a new bulb.
Unedited water spill, love it. Can you imagine how many things he's edited out of all his vids? With his energy: 'just put this concoction in the blender and...... oh Sh*t' as he forgot to screw on the top and slop was everywhere! He cleans up and Act 2: he's excited and happy again!
So here is what I do in 2024: l slapped together several shelving units with low cost growlights & added a few fluorescent lights as well. I also utilize dollar tree aluminum baking sheets again cheap for drip pans. I also have some good sized metal tubs for drip pans. So the garlic, sweet pepper plants and the green onions are in pots or buckets with drain holes in the bottom and there isn’t a shelf above these. They will grow up as needed. I use 10” diameter pots tor the peppers. Some are staked to keep plants upright that have a high yield. I also hang labeled paper bags for next year’s seeds. The spinach, different lettuces, pac Choi Chives &lots of herbs I will buy perlite cocoa fiber and good potted plant soil. My additives are crushed egg shells & coffee grounds which give plants a bit more acidity in their soil. Calcium is in the egg shells. I use. 2.5 & 5 gallon buckets with snug lids for composting which is primarily kitchen veggie+fruit trimmings as additives as well. More to come😉 Hope this helps
Ideally you're supposed to plant the clothes in October so they can overwinter. They will start growing in the spring and you'll know when it's time to pull them.
Wow... I didn't think it was that quick. Question. . 🤚(hands raised). . Do wildlife like this?. . Deer, elk, javelinas, ect. . .like to eat it? Or is it a deterrent?
