Actually, no! You never lose your original accent because the first language you learn develops the muscle structure in your face. In French, we use 27 muscles, in English, they use 18. Russians probably use a different amount and the structure development will be different than French or English speakers. So, no accents people grew up with are not fake even if they have been speaking another language for a long time.
I love america, the people are so friendly, I get people coming up to me and saying "hi", I get that a lot. . . I love to get "hi", don't you? It feels so good to get "hi", don't you love to get "hi" too?
Yeah, was communist Ukraine still a part of the Soviet Union? Was Soviet Ukraine dominated from Moscow? Was it or was it not basically treated like a province? Besides perhaps Yakov wanted to rip on Russians more than his native Ukraine.
@Chorkaloopa In his acts, "HE" says Russia. However at times he becomes specific and says he's from Ukraine. What you have to understand is when he left, Russia would have been normal for him to say. Ukraine was considered by Russia to be just a province or state, not a country in its own.. Russia has suppressed Ukraine as an independent country for century and wants to do so once again.
Very original humor; clean and very funny and consistent entertainment
Yakov is hilarious
The real Borat...

He could go back to Russia and tell "In communist America..." jokes
He's been here for damn near forty years. That accent is just an act now.

I know the man personally and his accent is genuine. I've also known other people from various countries and they still have accents
My dad is 98 years old, he came to the US in 1961… and he still has a thick accent.
You can definitely hear the difference between his stage performance (where he puts on the accent heavily) and in his interviews
Now Governor Newsome says "Don't leave home."
MADE BANK
what? he succeeded despite not requiring all of his paying fans to learn to speak Russian first?

dude, yakov, you didn't like it when people put in mask mandates.
He was born in communist Ukraine, not Russia. There is a difference. Americans have always been so out of touch with the world.
