No hate, but pressure cookers take longer than 10 - 15 minutes to fully heat and even build decent pressure. Sweet spot on half filled is 40 minutes Matt
He can't wait that long cause he's just itching to shoot something!!!🤣😆😂
I was going to comment the same thing
We don't do things the right way around here 😹
I came here to say the same thing
Same 😂
We need a redo on this one Matt.
for sure
Yep. Round two please.
Gasoline or whiskey is what I was hoping for
Turkey
Yes water would work fine...actually it's the best fir building pressure ...but it takes much longer than 10 minutes...and yes you can cook rice, beans. Lentils etc...in 10 minutes but that's AFTER the cooker has reached the needed 70kpi.
Matt blurred BUD LIGHT 😂😂😂
Now I’m getting genuinely worried 🤣
UA-cam content rules, can't show alcohol in a video without getting an age restriction.
@@BluegrassFilmsKY u sure? the didnt censor the rubbing alcohol. also funny enough that with guns no age restriction, but beer - age restirction? ive seen so many vids with beer or worse, that did not get restrictions. might be some other, crystilizted water structure related reason, why this was blurred.
@@Abteilol you can't drink rubbing alcohol because it's designed to be poisonous for human consumption, so it doesn't count as booze. Also he probably blurred the Bud Light to avoid giving them advertisement due to the recent controversy and boycott over it.
Yeah, it was very obvious it was bud light and im willing to put some good money down that bud light was used because it was cheap, plentiful and no cares if it's wasted. Plus, this channel has shown alcohol and used before so i think my prediction is pretty on par 😂
@@Abteilolrubbing alcohol isn’t the same 😭😭😭
I wonder if Scott felt a disturbance in the force as you used Nacho cheese and DIDN'T make the obligatory Nacho cheese joke! lol

In this episode we learned Matt never used a pressure cooker in his life 😂
Or built a raging fire 🔥 😤
And drinks bud light..
@@Redwhiteandtired or maybe he, ya know, bought bud light cause its cheap and anything else isnt worth shooting.
@domshooter934 if he were a poor man your argument might hold water..
Or took thermodynamics. There's a reason we still use steam turbines :)
GAAAAAAA!!!!!! I am an avid pressure canner. It takes TIME to build pressure. 30-40 minutes on high heat isn't uncommon. REDO the right way.
@@darkcode5562neither of which are flammable? Though they do have low boiling points, you might not even need a heat source.
I was today years old when I learned Matt doesn’t understand how pressure cookers work.
Man that intro was the HI-POINT of my morning
How did they miss it
Are you F N kidding me?
10 minutes is not nearly enough time to build pressure.
Plus the ones on the fire, probably burnt the plastic seal.
enough for you to watch the video, though )
@@northwales1000I mean older stylw pressure cookers were always used on a fire so I doubt that, it's only since instapot came out that electric ones have become common
yeah even with closing the vents you probably need 45 mins or something
Hi Matt - anything you want to explode should be water based as water expands to several hundred times its volume when converted to steam. Also, pressure will likely need to exceed 150psi to explode, so it will take much longer than the 10 minutes you allowed for that pressure to build. Please refer to Mythbusters water heater episode, and try again - it will be fun to see.
Water expands 1700 times when at steaming pressure. So a gallon would instantly expand to the area 1700 times of a gallon of water.
yeah, a pound of beans and some water will do nicely
Water and buck shot
@@dylanherald1687 That's how you receive random ATF visits and we don't like that lmao
Moreover pressure cookers have some protections - overheat protection disables heating at for example 130*C, and there is probably also an over-pressure valve. To make it explode, you have to get rid of these.
Hahaha, in this video I was so surprised that the beer is so pixelated that I thought I had forgotten to check my moral compass, while experiencing the paradox - that carrying a weapon in public is allowed, but enjoying a beer, especially German beer 😂, is not, which I think is hard to digest even for you in a channel with explosive experiments, isn’t it?
Great video! I always wanted to see what would happen when shooting on pressure cookers 😊. You made my day 😊!
Water being the most dangerous in the pressure cooker came as quite the surprise. Always enjoy the out-of-the-box content.
Kinda like the time he shot dry ice with the Barrett at the start of the video. and it stripped the jacket off of the bullet, then everything after that was rather anticlimactic in comparison.
10 minutes is not nearly enough time to build good pressure with a mostly full cooker, also when doing it with water you only need like half a cup, water is about 1000 times more dense then steam...
This guy knows
1600, you are under estimating quite a bit.

@@Ghostlyedits5duhduhduh
Ya water expands 1600 times in volume when it turns to steam … Firefighter basics homie

KB would have done a way better job delivering on this video idea
hahah yeah he knew, cos you know who's cheese it is.......:D

i can tell matt has been under alot of pressure lately to make some good content for us, ive come a long way from the random stuff shoved into shotgun shells. those were the glory days, get home from school, and then watch this man destroy a shotgun but putting it through its paces
I have one of those big pressure cookers. It takes about an hour to get up to boil. And then it takes about a half an hour to get up to pressure. Should try that one again and let it sit longer to build up pressure.
That’s what I was thinking
This is Demo Ranch! Can't expect them to actually follow through with an idea when it's a little more complicated than they expected.
Exactly what I came here to say: less than an hour is not doing much of anything.
He could easily go haul a load or 2 of gravel and let the cameras camera.
With the water one, you'd only need a very small amount too. Being that it expands 1600 times when turned in to steam........
Guys you need to wait much longer than 10min for it to build pressure.
When liquid turns to gas is what makes pressure build up, and for best effect you wanna evaporate pretty much everything in there, and that takes time.
I don't believe you didn't do the classic dry ice pressure bomb with that, and didn't put any gunpowder in the pot...
Also whenever you put flammable liquids in there and make it spill over the fire of course it'll light up, its not the pressure that caused the cool effects with the alcohol and "apple juice", but the 50 cal letting it spill onto the fire.
Really hope you're gonna make another one of those!
Ngl, at the beginning of the video I was concerned that Matt is turning into Scott with all the mayo and nacho cheese...
Only need some eggplants and watermelons to complete the set
For Matt, saying 10 mins is very safe. Some knucklehead, crayon eater may try this and not take personal responsibility for his/her failure to think. Ya don't need a gun to have a blast, when you have a pressure cooker and heat.
The rubbing alcohol did build pressure, though. It evaporates faster than any of the other liquids he used, and so it was able to build *some* pressure when in the fire.
@@thechad4485 true, though it's visible how it sprays the alcohol everywhere and only then ignites from bottom to top and that's not pressure responsible for that effect
@@scottnj2503 with a channel this large there has to be a knucklehead trying it out as we speak, and googling how to use a pressure cooker isn't hard. I doubt it was a decision made out of online caution and not boredom, as waiting for a cooker to build pressure really is boring. We see in the video how they constantly complain about wasting time on boring stuff and that pretty much clarifies it for me.
Of course, we can never know for sure unless Matt responds
@@michaelgoldberg4000 Indeed. Though the fireball wouldn’t have been nearly as big without the pressure, as the alcohol would have simply spilled out. As you said, it sprayed. It sprayed due to the small amount of pressure it was about to build in that short time. For the other mediums, he definitely didn’t wait nearly long enough to have the effect he desired. And the water pot was only as effective as it was because of hydrostatic shock, not pressure as Matt assumed.
@4:12 I needed that hearty laugh! 😂😂❤
When you shot the nacho cheese I had the Mario jump sound in my head when when it jumped up😂
It takes way longer than 10 minutes for them to build pressure. 30 to 45 minutes at least for most.
Takes about 30-45 minutes to build decent pressure, BUT the viscosity of the mayonnaise etc was the issue too. Water is most effective and efficient at building and maintaining pressure( that’s just the plain physical properties of h20)
It's like you went back to your roots when you started UA-cam. Loved it.
That intro man, I just can’t Barrett anymore 😆
A couple of observations.
First with the volume of liquid you're using you'll need to increase the waiting time for everything to heat to its boiling point. Something like 20-40 minutes is probably more practical.
Second, using screws to seal the release valves could have potentially broken the seal and allowed for the pressure to release. Pouring some heat resistant epoxy into the valves might be a better solution.
Third, the stuff you were putting in them was mostly just water with different additives. Something like isopropyl alcohol, dry ice, liquid nitrogen, or gasoline would all work great at building a ton of pressure and some of them would definitely have an impressive effect with an incendiary round.
This was the comment I was looking for! You got every point! He definitely broke the relief valves with the screws, the pressure just went out through the spiral gap in the threads.
So what I’m learning is Matt has no patience lmao
I’m seven teen and I’ve been watching this channel as a kid and I just recently subscribed to this man 🇺🇸👍
The intro is so good I can't Barrett 😂
To close the vent holes you should use some type of sealant inside and out otherwise it will still release pressure. Also 30 to 40 min minimum just to build pressure.
It takes about half and hour to build up the pressure you want.
It is "half an hour" not "half and hour", you could have even just said "a half hour" or "half-hour". Who told you to say and write it like that?

Inpatient Ranch for this video. 10 minutes is not enough time to build up much pressure
How on earth does no one at the filming location, have the sense to say; you need to apply more time and heat to get pressure.
I was more surprised after the first 5 did nothing that they never realized hey maybe build more pressure before shooting lol
Pretty clear that nobody on the team has ever actually used a pressure cooker before
Its just him and mikey
The isopropyl alcohol has a lower boiling point than water which is probably why you got a better pressure build.
Yep, and the gegetable oil that the mayo and nacho cheese are made from doesn't boil until about 570F. Which may be some of the lack luster performance from those.
But, I still watched it and enjoyed every bit. Keep it up!
Water is the way to go Matt. When it is pressurized properly and then suddenly reaeased, it can expand 1000's of times it's original volume.
The view is magnificent, the camerangle is oscarworthy amd the 50 is sparkling and that is what counts.
Even though you were disappointed and the idea wasn't doing anything, you still have the ability to make it an AWESOME video!!!
Im gonna ask for a redo on this one lol. People have made pressure cooker bombs so I know they're deadly so maybe leave everything in them for 30 mins to an hour

One of the best openers yet!
Fun fact, adding mentos to Diet coke does NOT produce any extra pressure. It just helps the dissolved gas separate from the fluid. With the baking soda and vinegar, put the vinegar in a sealable bag and put it on the bottom. Then the bag melts/pops, and the baking soda and vinegar will mix after it is already sealed. Just an idea. But you definitely need to redo this one...
Vinegar in a 2 mil plastic bag takes way longer than 24 hours to melt, lol. Go back to your Google-University.
@jong2359 hmm you're right that anything other than a zipplock bag probably wouldn't work.
Better to sit the vinegar in a jug inside. Close the lid and give it a shake.
@@scottll that's a good idea!
