Glad to see someone finally covering this. Was playing this during PTR and as my first char this season. It definitely triggered me to go down the rabbit hole with spreadsheets, planner, etc ;) It was a blast for leveling and would recommend for that but, quickly try to transition as you approach 100 to one of the other builds. Appreciated the tip about the benefit mathematical benefit of investing in multiple multipliers (DoT + Crit in this case). Minion survivability I found to be very important in this build since all your damage is tied to them.
I used shademist on my minion build while I was leveling. It was actually much more smooth than NOT using it. I didn't get to push it because it was HC and I got bonked at lvl 70
It tapers off near the end of leveling, but just that extra aoe clear that is actually improved by ADHD skeles is so nice to have. I tried a swap to a standard minions setup in my 80s but went back fairly quickly.
I also was thinking of trying it. I was wondering if shademist applied chill from bloodless scream if so it could be brutal but I doubt it based on how they word it
I was a little disappointed that the aspect of the void and the aspect of the plunging darkness didn't really work as well as i wanted it to with the new bone prison boots. I wanted the prison to be completely filled with blight and able to pull more in but it keeps the blight pool the same size as the smaller bone prisons.
Hey macro was wondering since shademist technically is damage dealt by your minions do aspects such as great feast or reanimation scale it's damage? Maybe to the point it could farm say t6 hordes at least?
Started D4 because of gamepass. Did a similar build for first character, best damage do with shadowblight was around 15m, breezes through tier 5 and 6 infernal hordes but not so much on tier 7. Lots of max stats required to get the most damage out of shadowblight given you have to juggle additive dmg/darkness dmg for SB base against shadow over time damage multiplier. Mortacrux with Howl from Below is extremely fun on this, turns ever corpse into shadow blight missiles.
if u focus on x'fal and x'fal only and use bone prison alone to carry shademist, the build has a very high potential. damned (2h scythe), grasping veins, sacrificial, shako for bone prison cdr, hectic.
@@droid5785 hectic to reduce the cooldown of bone prison. trag isn't good for single targets as the mist won't hit them in the middle. the mist from normal prison will all hit the target in the middle.
I also messed around quite alot with this aspect in combination with Shadowblight. I was trying to make some afk-style lucky hit build work with the autocast ring, xfals, andariels, doombringer and fist of fate. Easily the most fun i had playing the game because it was the first time i tried to create something totally on my own despite not having a clue if these ideas even would work in the slightest. Got one-shot in t6 hordes from the first mob so it ended sadly but while it lasted it was very fun!
I actually used a similar build while leveling, for me the most fun is that the shadow dmg from minions applied while ur with the horse and while going from place to place everything died
this with Mortacrux for more minions > more auras, and if/when they fix, Sever with the variant that does damage the more minions you have is going to be my pet project this season
so ive been building my own Cronenberg blight DoT necro with ebonpiercer and x'fal. just small things taken from other builds and then trying to scale on +damage% instead of DoT or CC dmg and i feel like this will work super well with my build. the blight will take so much increase from the shadowblight buffs from decay and blighted being capped out constantly. i'll have to give this a try
Why no Andariel's Visage on this ? It won't do anything for Shadowblight and it doesn't get the cooldown reduction, but with the lucky hit proc of minions it should add a not insignificant amount of damage no ?
I was not a slave to the meta until The Pit. The difference in power between an S and even an A tier build was unbelievably stark. I feel like the less time you have to grind the more important the base tier of a build becomes.
I want to make my own builds but assembling what paragon boards go with what glyph is confusing … why do they make the legendary nodes so far from the glyph socket?
Based on bugs and unique items, I'll pass as the bugs are mostly likely already fixed? And my RNG doesn't work as It is more punishment to me and since the Mother bs is online I am finding most other drops are worse and less and less Uniques dropping along w/legendary. You also do not go over the skills tree?
5:45 Shademist was fixed so it procs shadowblight faster the more minions you have? It didn't on the ptr and I didn't see that fix in the patch notes. I might play around with it then :D
It actually procs less than on PTR, not sure what fix we're referring to? Edit: oh the weird cap there seemed to be. Yeah no it just applies a single dot per minion instead of 3 per minions, so you don't reach whatever that weird cap was.
I’m wondering why you’re not using the FoF gloves and creeping death aspect. This will give all of the crowd control you need and creeping death with give a 7(40x) multiplier to damage over time. Unless I phased out and missed that bit 😂 Cool build I wanna give it a try.
DoTs are the vehicle for damage, not the damage itself which is Shadowblight and X'fals. As for FoF, unless you get a godly pair they quietly suck, and even then they really aren't all that good unless you are fishing for big number to show off.

@@thierryfaquet7405 Because the interactions are bugged at 100% normally, I just wonder if that bugged number can even be affected. I ran some tests but the numbers were inconclusive. All I really found out is that Shademist procs are okay in bulk but hilariously bad on their own.
Bone Prison doesn't seem to count as minions for the Great Feast aspect as far as I can tell. I wonder if it counts for your DR passive in the skill tree which would mean you lose DR when you cast it.
I know we can't scale poison damage but Andy's does a big amount of damage, I think it's 130k (Xfal is half of that) with a 2H. Would this work with it if you can proc it multiple times?
@Totherphoenix I was looking at the rogue and yeah they can scale poison but it's not really by much. The lucky hits amount you can get from this build is really high, I will test it out if I ever get one this season....it's not like the build is pushing to be S tier anyways
I've played with shademist this the whole time organically no guides and my first season since season 1. One time when I was experimenting with frost burn and I was thinking hmmm everything seems to be freezing more than from my hits alone now that makes sense. I haven't played it the way you have set up though so it will be fun to try, I was using sever and corpse tendrils, and corpse explosion because I got that one ring that autoprocs.
Made one of these with mortacrux for ultimate afk farming it's great. The extra minions apply shademist and have the same damage type as xfals and shadowblight so is very fun in this. This is how I'm farming mats and gold it's not very powerful but i can just walk around and all the damage sources proc (except bligh😢)
Try out spirit wave it's super fun you pretty much spam blood waves together with blood lance with high attack speed to spawn bone spirits with blood artisans
On hardcore i will use blood mist instead of hard casting decrepify, or maybe blight. Otherwise im gonna respec my 64 bone spear necro into this straight away lol. Doombringer to replace xfals until im 80 and can use one from stash outta be fun. Love you.
so on my necro i have the curse aspect ...um i dont have any curses on me just points in them and they proc for me, maby its just me but you can use that curse skill slot for another move btw. also i think bonespirite bone prison corpse tind build would be op. second im going to finish my blood surge necro then build an tank necro next i think

I saw this video title and thought "Oh, maybe he found a build that is better than mine and actually works at higher levels" only to come in to the video and hear you say "This isn't likely to push past T5", lmfao. Also, have you considered trying the Mortacrux with this build? The Minions that it summons also get the aura from Shademist, should theoretically increase the Shadowblight tick rate even more - not sure what you would be able to drop to make it work though.

Im going to try a good old shadowblight build using this, shadow damage warriors, ironmaiden shadow damage, blight corpse etc. See how it goes aimce shadowblight was buffed 100%.

My days of tryharding are gone. I play charged bolt sorc and companion druid this season. Its disgrace charged bolt is not even included on maxroll, the thing shreds. Not as much as spear build ofc, but its literally 1 button wonder. If i had mythics, the thing would easily do hordes 7-8, since survivability is my biggest weakness

Exactly. Having a meta build to farm mw mats or Mythics to build other characters is what I always do.

Thoughts on Bloodless Scream this season? Still trash? Debating trying some sort of darkness/chill build with or without minions.

It isn't damage dealt by your minions. Scales off the Necro.

An easy way to test this would be to remove all essence generators, put the aspect on and then use Bone Prison?

Do you have maximum life above 30k and barrier generation? As well as fortify? It really helps.

@@MacroBioBoi im almost capoed on resistances aswell and yes i have the armor cap… im legit lost and baffled at the same time.
@@vitorvena I honestly don't think survival in content is an option without 30-35k max life and barrier gen. Something does feel off about damage.

It’s been great made a chains stun / bash build on barb. It has endless chains aka endless stuns it is super fun to coop with.
