Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 бер 2023
- Buckle in and get ready for a jamboree of sonic splendour as the Walrus Audio Fable hots the scene and unleashes it's wholly transformative granular experience upon us pedal lovers! Fable is without a doubt my favourite release from the Oklahoma based folks at Walrus and I couldn't be more pleased to help unveil this wonderfully complex box of tricks! adapt and change your playing with sampled elements of your input sound that are stretched, pitched, reversed, scrambled and smeared into some of the most beautiful textures this crew have designed to date. Enjoy!

so beautiful !
Thank you!!
Wonderful demo.
Thanks heaps!
Absolutely i got to have it the sooner the better
It’s quite wonderful!
Very nice pedal. Real smooth sound. If I had it, I'd bath it in reverb.
Outside of this demo that’s exactly what I’ve been doing!
I'm ordering mine next week.
Enjoy it!
Great video man! It’s kinda like a baby microcosm
It kinda is! A little more immediate version of the Mosaic algorithm perhaps.
Nice guitar parts for demoing this and thanks for the demo. I think this is the best demo of this pedal. Many times when people demo these kind of things they play things on the instrument that don't marry to the effect very well but you've got a real knack for it and leaving enough space to hear the effects. How do you find this compares to the Microcosm or the Pladask Elektrisk Backlengs? Which one of those would be your first choice for granular ambient textures? Does Fable offer something unique that others like Microcosm and Pladask Fabrikat or Backlengs do not? Which of the granular pedals out there is your favorite one?
Ah thanks for the kind words Bob! Means a lot to hear. I love all three of those pedals, they’re all pretty different though. The Baklengs is like a way more immediate CBA MOOD with less of a learning curve. It’s more of a different interaction than the other two. The Microcosm has a few pedals worth in it, including a longish looper, and it’s so often a new experience. I feel like the Fable is the best parts of the Microcosm condensed, except the looper, and is probably the easiest of the three to get along with quickly.
Missed that you mentioned fabrikat, I’ve only had a short play with that so don’t have a full opinion.
@@ponderersounds3172 Thanks for the good info! Your channel is one of the few I visit to find out what's new in pedal technology. Your playing and demoing is nicely tuned and toned!
Do you have some sort of lut? Your pedal has deep red and black! Looks beautiful. But I can’t find one that looks like that.
Yeah there is a lut on, my painting was a bit flashy so I smoothed it out a little.
This might be a dumb question but how do you connect your phone so that it is recorded? Great demo by the way!
It’s literally just a little lightning to 1/4” adapter, pretty easier to find online 👍🏼
Sounds great. BUT Walrus Audio ... there are lots of synthesisers with stereo out. Please don't forget us.
You’ll just have to buy two 😜
@@ponderersounds3172 or put one to the left and an other effect on the right ?
no additional reverb in use, either in play or in Mix?
A little room feel from the iridium was dialled in, and the ringtone had its own reverb.
@@ponderersounds3172 thanks much for that, you!
Just a lil tiny bit tiny disappointed it not stereo
It still pretty great, whack a stereo vibe after it and she’s good to go 👍🏼👍🏼
Sounds a little Fabrikat ish, does it use similar chip(s)?
Not sure about the chips but there are a bunch out there now that can be applied like this.
6:05 Wow
Would you mind if I would use this loop in some deep house stuff?
I’m sorry, not right now. I’m working on some music and pulling a lot of stuff from demos so I don’t want anything used in other music just yet. Maybe in the future. Thanks for asking though!
Damn bro. I thought my phone was ringing
Haha not for long though!
If you could only go with one, Lore or Fable?
Fable, by a whisker. The textures are a little more interesting because they aren’t as smeared as the Lore… but that could be what you want so 🤷🏼♂️
Fable, but I bet at least 2 more are on the way. I guess Myth and Legend......
Wondering peoples thoughts on Fable vs Particle V2
They’re both fish but from two different ponds, fable is more textural overall, particle is more of a delay with granular flavours.
I’m a month late here but I can tell you that after having owned the Particle 2 and now owning the Fable, the Fable is what I was looking for in the Particle. The Particle of course has way way way more going on with all of its algorithms but I’ve swapped it out for the Fable, you could say that the different programs have already done the heavy lifting for you and you can just focus on the music you’re making. That’s how I feel about it anyways!
Not really for live playing. No expression pedal input or presets? But sounds cool.
Works great to me, I don’t imagine you’d use it all the time, more of a flavour here and there. Presets and expression would be great though.
wow it could have been better if it has stereo output.
It sounds great with a stereo verb after it for sure
Is this thing stereo? I need to know!
No it’s not, I did have a little room feel from the Iridium dialled in though.
@@ponderersounds3172 bummer! i really wanted this to kick off my microcosm. i love that thing to death, but i only really use two algorithms.
@@joshuabenton3785in reality you do not need stereo inputs and outputs, you can add stereo effects later in signal
You could get to this with an hx stomp
Some slightly similar sounds I suppose, haven’t got quite so beautiful with an hx myself.
