- David Phelps joined us backstage after performing with the Gaither Vocal Band at the Dove Awards. He talks about his Dove-nominated Christmas album, his relationship with Bill Gaither, gives an update on his new album and more.
David is the absolute best tenor in the world and the most wonderful gentleman I've ever seen. He is a blessing.

I think the best version of the Gaither vocal i have ever heard is Bill Gaither , David Phelps, Guy Penrod and Mark Lowry ...all the others were and stil is very good , but those 4 guys did it in a way that is really memorable
And I got to see this group in concert. Got to meet Guy and Bill after. I think Guy had just joined the Band.

I have listened to him many times and I love the Gaither singers giving Glory to God - I hope that David is as he has said that He really is ' truly a ' born again Christian. So Many other Gospel singers are not Biblical Christians use this Music just to make money I believe B Gaither, G Penrod,W Hampton some others are but lots of them are not - God knows what's in their Hearts.
What makes you doubt his christianity Doreen? Just curious that’s all.
When David sings Holy Spirit manifest through his facial expression and voice . God made David to be born to encourage His children and bless us . No human language to describe David’s voice except God’s precious gift to us . May God continue use David for His kingdom and glory . I pray for him that God will cover him with His blood till David’s mission is done in the earth . Specially nowadays I don’t know what would I do without his songs while we are beaten by coronavirus !
I was thinking the same thing. Some praise God with their lips, but their hearts are far from him. I don't know David's heart, but I hope it is not all about the singing and hitting those notes. Only God knows.
