Just because you didn't have that doesn't mean that other people don't. Stop trying to say that all people now are this way, I'm sure the kid enjoyed this and she seemed sweet and like they raised her good. I don't understand why people like you do this kind of crap and say that this generation is gonna be ungrateful. People want to give things to their kids that they didn't have and that the kids would enjoy
When I was younger, my parents surprised me by renovating a room in the house and giving it wooden floors, shelves and everything - it was amazing. Not tumblr crazy or instagram but to me it was literally the coolest place ever because it was my new bedroom. No matter how I change my room, I have never forgotten being surprised like that.

The playhouse came out beautifully. Next time though look into getting krylon paints. Krylon spray paint is specifically designed to bind to plastic and is cheaper than Rust-Oleum.

Aaaw! When I was little, my parents built a really beautiful elaborate doll house for me. They put a little Santa doll in the chimney and gave it to me for Christmas. It was so special, I will always remember it. Haha and this was almost twenty five years ago now. I think your daughter is always going to remember this play house too because she’ll realize how much work you put into it for her.
