- I have ridden several Mountain Coasters before but never an ALPINE SLIDE!! That was until I visited Ober Gatlinburg!!!! Ober Gatlinburg has a realistic alpine slide similar to those you will find in Switzerland, Germany and other areas in Europe. Cascading down the mountain through a series of twists and turns the sleds zip and zoom in a unique way. Come ride with me and see this POV!!

We were in Gatlinburg in 2016 and saw this. Intended to do it, but for some reason we didn't. REGRET! LOL
I would definitely recommend it on a return trip!!! Very cool... I have seen lots of these online in other countries so I jumped at the opportunity to ride one here in the states
Good review. I didn't know that was there.looks like lotsa fun. Thanks. You always do a great job.
It was really cool...I had seen something about it but didn't know what to expect then got there and was like YES YES YES.....thank you sooo much as always Eddie!!
We love it here! The kids enjoy ice skating year round there and we ski during winter. During spring and summer our favorite is the bear enclosure we go out there and talk to the bears.
I thought about ice skating when up there but if I would have fallen and broken something I was just on the beginning stages of my trip and lets be honest I am kinda clumsy...lol
This would have been fun for our family when we were there. Didn't know this was there.
Yes ma'am sooo many things up there to do .....
I looked this up and it looks to be seasonal. Right now is their snow season. That being said, I am glad to see this so that I can get some ideas in advance because we have decided we will be going to this area this Summer after continuing to see your and other videos.
Yes I wanted to put this out now so people can start their planning for their upcoming season!!! It is a wonderful place, highly recommend!!!
Oh how fun! And seeing even the tiny kids doing it makes it even better for our kids!
Yes this place is very family friendly! I will be adding another video in the future of the inside options!!
Been up there and have ridden that. I am a bigger guy but still could ride.
that is awesome to know... people often ask me about things like that but it is hard to know for sure so if I have someone ask I will make sure to share your experience!! Thanks!!!
One of our favorite things to do there. Thanks for the memories.
You are so welcome! I definitely wanted to share some thing to bring warm fuzzy memories of my adventures there even though it’s a little cold at this moment in Gatlinburg.
Wow didn't even know they had things like this.
YES!!! This was absolutely awesome! Glad I could share it and share something different with you!!
Nice, our alpine slides tubes are metallic in Switzerland, most seeds too with a cushion on top. We can go extreamly fast that way if we like, lol
Oh that would be fun to do.. one day I hope to get the opportunity!!
It looked like it was going at a pretty good speed. Did they say how fast it goes. I have always wanted to go to Obergatlnburg but have not so far. We did Annekesta in July. Do you recommend Obergatlnburg. The reviews aren't always the best.
It is an older place but very fun.. I went during their Oktoberfest which was an added layer of theming while there and there were lots of different things to do with the all access pass including a wildlife area, the lift to the scenic overlook, alpine slide and coaster, ice skating, ice bumper boats, an old school arcade, panel maze, mini golf and shopping. I have a couple of other videos I will be posting to share a bit more about it in the future but I would say that it definitely was worth it. Very different than Anakeesta but very nice.
It wasn't fast at all, when I rode it 10yrs ago. Maybe 5mph, 10 max. I'm a 230lb man, not sure how much weight impacts speed on this slide.
OMG! HOW FUN!! I need to try this out ASAP! Great video and beautiful footage!
Thank you!!! I definitely encourage everyone to check this out once in a lifetime it is sooo fun!!!! And if you happen to be at Ober and get the wrist band you can do it as many times as you want which is also very cool!!
Really enjoyed the POV
I am sooo glad!!! I really enjoy sharing these type of videos because they allow everyone at home to experience the ride and if they are able to visit then they know what to expect. If they are not, they will have the concept of what the ride is!
@@BunnyPlaysHere It really is effective.
Great town, so much 2 do and see
Great video POV, very different than the coasters you published
This is a much different sensation to ride... you are closer to the ground and so you feel the track more
I want to try this! Looks like it would be fun!
It was sooo fun!! You should definitely try it at Ober!!!
Omg! We went today and it was so fun! The only thing is, my board was really slow. I was pushing the thing as hard as I could. I thought I was gonna love this ride, and I was looking forward to it, but it was my least favorite thing. I ended up LOVING the mountain coaster!! It was my fav, I also loved going to the top of the mountain! Me and my fam had a blast! Hope to go there more!
Completely understandable I saw that some of the boards went faster than others and I don’t know if it was the individual boards and how they were set up or what the deal was but I’m really sad that you were bummed about this one on the flipside so glad you enjoyed the mountain coaster I absolutely loved it and definitely thought that it was one of the highlights! Did you do the maze I have a video coming out this next week about doing the maze it over because I totally got lost LOL
@@BunnyPlaysHere Yes! We ended up finding out it was just the board. We didn’t even know there was a maze! Lol, we got there at 2:00pm and didn’t even have time to do everything before they closed. We did the swings up to the top of the mountain, alpine slide, roller coaster, ice skating, bumper cars, animal exhibit, and rock climbing. We’re moving up to Tennessee, so we’re gonna go more often!
How many things like this do they have at this place, it looks like there are so many things that would be wonderful for my family. Thank you for sharing all of these videos, really gives me some ideas.
They have so many things here from ice skating and ski lifts to alpine slides and a mountain coaster. during the summer there is a small water park and during winter skiing.
If you aren't going to school to be a news reporter you're natural talent would be wasted! 🙂
I never actually went to school to do any of the things that I do currently LOL but I truly enjoy my creative side and being able to exercise that in a variety of different ways. I’ve always enjoyed doing video as well as graphic design and things but this is just an extension of all those getting to come together.
@@BunnyPlaysHere Keep doing these videos and you may just be discovered! 🙂 Glad you're enjoying yourself, and appreciate your videos.
Which GoPro are you using?
Hero 8 Black
@@BunnyPlaysHere Did the camera smooth the ride appearance or is it relatively smooth. I could hear the division pieces so I assumed it bumped a bit.
@UCtF9WI0F6DkRIQZtOfV3Wjg It does smooth the footage a bit with the built in stabilizer, you can definitely feel the little bumps along the way, but it added to the thrill of the movement... from a distance it doesn't look like it goes very fast, but what it lacks in speed it makes up for in thrill because of proximity to the ground
