The only problem I've had with aqua faba meringue is that it has to be even more carefully kept away from all moisture, even in the air. The stuff turns to mush if you even look at it moistly
"Look at it moistly". Too funny😂
Lol
i cant @ "look at it moistly".
I wish we could have a photo of you looking at something moistly. 😁😉😂🤔
Omg that is too funny lol 😂! Here! Have your 30th like on me 👍!
Helpful tip from someone who uses aquafaba all the time: freeze it in ice cube trays and then pop them into a ziploc baggie. This helps with the odd amounts you’ll get from the can vs what recipes call for. Saves you from opening beans before you’re planning to use them.
I’ve heard from my aunt that the reason why Japanese snowman has two body parts is because Japanese wear Kimono. (The western snowman has vest and pants=three parts) I don’t think it’s all that true, but I like the theory because it kinda makes sense and it’s cute!!! Anyways, Merry Christmas from Japan!!🎄
Love that ❄️
So cool! ⛄
In the U.K. we also have two part snowmen…so that dashes the theory, but I agree it’s cute!
@@LovelyRuthie 50% of the population is women in dresses so not different from kimono there
You know what else is different, the look associated with a UFO/Flying Saucer in Japan
Aquafaba can be used to also make vegan mayo. Very easy and delicious.
Post recipe please 🌸
Yes, recipe please
These are perfect for people who can't eat eggs, don't like them or are vegan.
I'm not vegan but I'd love to make these.
I sometimes make meringue mushrooms for my Yule Log. I might try the bean water next time.
That is a fantastic idea!
My vegan friend told me years ago that the starchy goop in canned beans could be used like egg whites but I couldn’t quite wrap my brain around it… very cool!!
Definitely takes getting used to!
Put the chickpeas in the air fryer and make a crunchy snack. You can put ranch powder or taco seasoning or just about anything or nothing but salt to season the chickpeas.
Its so darn good!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays from our home to yours.
My favorite is maple syrup with pumpkin pie spice 🤤
Oh what settings/ time do you use ? 🤗
I tried to make the chick peas like this but I did it wrong 😑 I’d love to try it again though
@@spookyvegan1402 try and get all the water out first. Make sure they are rinsed well. Place them on a paper towel. Get them as dry as possible. Then place them in a bowl with a lot of salt. This will help pull any excess water out. Don't rinse the salt off. Just lightly pat the beans then add them to the air fryer.
Yeees! Nutritional yeast would be yummy I bet! 😋
Aloha Emmy , I appreciate you making a Eggless Desert. I am allergic to eggs and always wanted to find a replacement for meringue.
I had no idea bean water could do this. So 3/4 cup bean water, 1/2 cup sugar added a tablespoon at a time, and teaspoon of vanilla. They are so cute! 200 degree oven to dry out, an hour or two.
Or 3.
I love that you encourage people to repair tools. :)
I was so scared the gummies were gonna melt into the batter and ruin theeemm im so glad they came out soo perfect! Theres hope!! Thanks Emmy you are the best!
They didn't because meringues aren't really "baked" as much as they're dehydrated. The idea is to leave them in a warm oven for a long time, so that they lose moisture but don't discolour. So that low and slow method isn't enough to liquify the gummies :)
@@NejiRaven meringues would burn in a hot car then lmaoooo ive got so many mega gummie after leaving a bag in a car out in the sun for a couple of hours and yeah
Those look like jujube candies, those things are barely digestible so I’m not surprised they don’t melt
Hello Emmy for years I have been allergic to eggs and milk. So my mother had a lot of recipes that are free of everything! Merry Christmas to your family!
Send them to her, she will be pleased to make them on camera ! :D
Recently subbed aquafaba for eggs while making gingerbread house icing. Didn’t have to worry about the kids sampling!
I remember doubting that this worked on the British baking show. But, it looks and sounds perfect!
So patient to cook for 4 hours!
I learned from Christine McConnell’s videos but it was fun to see it on the GBBS.
Assuming it’s no salt added container of chick peas. I made this once but the salt was quite strong.
Wow would have never in a million years guessed you could make meringue from bean water. I learn so much from this channel not to mention how stinking cute Emmy is 😍😍😍 Merry Christmas 🎄🎄
Been watching your videos for years and years now and just wanted to say how much I really enjoy your channel. Content creating and creators have evolved a lot in the last 10 years (and not always in a good way) but I’ve always found you to be warm-hearted and pure. Happy holidays to you and hope this next year is even better
I had never heard of aquafaba until this week while bingeing on The Great British Bake Show, there was a vegan baker and she used it. Interesting.
I had no idea that other bean liquids would whip. That gives me some ideas! Thanks Emmy!
Still nogood if you can't have peanuts
I had no idea that bean liquids PERIOD could be whipped. This is so cute.
I know, me too!
Wait which bean liquids do you know of? I’ve only done aquafaba
I knew chickpea liquid can whip but beans..wow that was new to me too!^^
This episode made my evening! Ty, Emmy. I plan to do this with my kids tomorrow.
Made something similar for Christmas Day this year (highly allergic to egg here…!). 1. Do not skip the cream of tartar 2. Don’t use a fan forced oven! I had very sad looking merengues that I had to turn into an Eaton mess…(which wasn’t bad…just not what I intended!).
An excellent zero waste recipe!
Since watching this channel, I have learned there are so many things that can be whipped up besides cream & egg whites.
These are so stinkin' cute! I had no idea there were such a thing as edible marking pens! How cool! I know what I will be asking Santa for next year!
Thanks for always bringing new ideas in cooking to us all!
if you use the water of beans you boiled yourself for this, i highly recommend reducing it down in a pot first- helps so much!
This episode helped me figure out why I had problems with the meringue. I never used the cream of tartar since I find it used very rarely, but I see why it's crucial in the macaron recipes for the meringue (egg white or aquafaba)
I love chickpea cookies! Sooooo good!
Amazing stuff! My wife made a Yule log decorated with aquafaba meringue mushrooms yesterday. You make the tops and stems separately then glue them together using Nutella. Adorable and delicious. Funny seeing you post this video right after we tried that. Merry Christmas!
I guess Fava beans would be Fava Faba then?
The thumbnail is so cute

Idk, ever since I saw Emmy do the worm video and eat worms, I just can’t stop picturing those worms in all the other food. When she said she liked the crunchiness of the garbanzo beans, reminded me of how she also liked the crunchiness of the baked worms. I think I’ve been traumatized. LoL
The smirk when you say “two-baller” 🤣
I’ve had my KitchenAid mixer since 2008. Still works beautifully! They really are built to last
Merry Christmas Emmy and wonderful family! Thank you for always working so hard to entertain, educate and provide us with an escape from daily troubles! Your whimsical personality shines through in every single video, and I think I can speak for us all when I say I can never be in a bad mood when watching you and ultimately always leave your videos feeling lighter and smarter! Love you Emmy and love to everyone in the comments! Whether you celebrate or not I hope you all had a lovely day! 💛💛🧡
Adorable! Merry Christmas, Emmy! Thank you for uploading and making our Christmas a little more bright!
SO adorable!!! Really really cute!!!
OMG, I remember watching you since you started doing japanese candies and giving your review on them. And now you've become so so amazing. Still loving your lovely energy as before! I'm so happy to see you've become so much bigger! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I never realized you could make aquafaba from beans other than chickpeas! Thanks for always teaching me something new, Emmy 😊
That was amazing! Never knew this could be done. I would rather use bean juice than eggs, so I gotta try this. You are so fun to watch. I love the glee you feel while you are creating a recipe. So uplifting. Thank you!
Yay! What a fabulous gift to have an emmymade video today! Thank you :)
If only this video came out before xmas 😭 it would've been so perfect. Thousands of people around the world making Emmy cookies for xmas
You’re awesome, Emmy.
Ahhhhhhh!!!! How did I miss this?!?! I make cookies for a living and actually teach cookie decorating online, I make ALL of my royal icing with aquafaba! As a professional baker/decorator, in my humble opinion, it behaves so much better than egg based royal icing does. No bleeding, stays puffy when drying, floods beautifully, I could go on and on.
If you ever want to do a virtual cookie class Emmy, I’m ya girl!
A warm hello from Trinidad and Tobago... where we can chickpeas “channa”
Its such a small thing, but thank you for the "if you're celebrating it" intro. As someone who doesn't, it can be difficult this time of year.
I noticed that too. It's great to see.
How fragile you are

That's amazing! Im not throwing my bean water out anymore ..I hate to waste anything and that helps so much... Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas Emmy! Always makes my day coming home to these videos after work.
omg...those are the MOST adorable meringue cookies EVER!!
Emmy, thank you for all of your videos. I always enjoy your videos. This year Your videos have been sunny spot during really trying times. I had COVID in April and will get tested Friday because I’m sick again 🤪 Thank you so much!! Wishing you and your loved ones enduring happiness and health.
I can't wait to try this Emmy! Thank you for being such a continuous bright light 🕯️ in our lives especially during these trying times. Happy Holidays to you and your lovely family! 🎄♥️⛄
Merry Christmas emmy!!! Thank you for this video!
They're so cute I can hardly stand it!
I've had my KitchenAid mixer for like... 20 years? It was originally my grandma's, who handed it down to my mom after getting a new one, then my mom handed it down to me after she got a new one. Still working flawlessly to this day! :)
Those would be nice to use as cake decorations
Love these! I got my 5 year old a poppin cookin set for Christmas because of how much she loves your videos and it was the highlight of her day!
The wolf on Emmy’s shirt is watching her and learning just as intently as us.
Love the cutie snowpeople :) thank you for posting even on Christmas Emmy! But please remember to take time off from youtube as you need it, make sure to take care of yourself and spend time with loved ones. Warm wishes to you and your family in 2022✨💖
Thank you for doing this! I've also seen aquafaba used to make a pseudo whipped cream.
I appreciate how you make an effort to say "snowpeople" and still kept the lil human parts where you say "snowmen" in, that's nice thank you :)
Those look incredibly professional! You looked like you were really having fun making them, too. I might have to make these the next time I’m invited to a cookie exchange, because they’d definitely be different from everyone else’s cookies - and they’d look so much cuter than everyone else’s, too!
Emmy I am not Vegan at ALL but I wonder 🤔 if you can do Vegan macarons and/or macaroons (French and coconut). Since you are the Queen of "Trying new things " I thought who better to ask 😉
I haven’t even started the video and I know it’s going to be a great one! 💙Emmy is so wholesome and kind 😊 happy holidays everyone!🎄🎊
Aaah...I lost my head. As soon as I saw the texture in the close up in the first few seconds I decided I must make these! And what a great excuse to buy a box of Jujy Fruits! Thank you Emmy!
In the UK we use the two ball method too, I hadn't noticed until now that its different in the US.
Merry Christmas Emmy to you and your family!
Those are so super cute. That is such a great idea for Christmas. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Beautiful snowman ⛄ cookies. Merry Christmas, Emmy🎄
Oh hey Emmy, Merry Christmas to you and your family🎄
Merry Christmas emmy!!!! Everything you do is perfection
Yes!!! I recently found out that I am not tolerant to egg and have been missing meringue. I cannot wait to try.
You should make my mom's chicken keiv.
Mix softened butter
Minced garlic, lemon zest, and a bit of lemon juice
Tarragon, salt, and pepper
Can add shallots parsley or make it your own.
Form butter into balls so you can wrap your chix breast around them firm up in the fridge
Boneless chicken breast butterfly pounded flat
Wrap butter balls with breast
Flour
Egg
Bread crumbs/ pankco
Shallow fry in neutral oil til golden on all sides. I'd turn with slotted spoon so you don't squash the precious butter out. Place on a rack over sheet pan in the oven for about 20 min til cooked fully
Cut into them and the butter sauce will run onto your plate, and be the most amazing sauce! Tarragon is so under used!!!
Your welcome!!.
My moms name was Carla Jeanne.
Now I know what to do with the bean water after I make hummus. Thank you.
Thank you for making this video, to show how easy this is. The same can be used for lemon meringue pies, or mousse.
5:57 Yeah, that's something that I learned recently. Refined sugar isn't vegan because they actually use ground up BONES in the process. So weird. XD
I had no idea either, weird
I didn't believe you at first, but I googled it and I learned something about bone char filtration today.
Depends on the country though. A lot of countries dont use bone char anymore, New Zealand/Aotearoa for example doesnt use bone char in their refined sugar.
Each of those cookies are like Frosty the Snowman. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Thanks for posting! Merry Christmas!
Ahhh...I lost my head! This is such a fun recipe!
Merry Christmas Emmy 💝.
I too love garbanzo beans ' hmmn hmm, hmmmmm' you do as I do with that little hum of pure joy 😊
Thank you for another year of great content :D happy holidays to you and your family!
So stinkin' cute! I love these 🍭❄☃️⛄⛄
That crunchy sound 💖
If using fresh, following the directions on the bag, let beans and juice cool in the fridge over night.
SO adorable!!⛄
Thanks for sharing!! Have a very Merry Christmas to you and your family!! 🎄🎅🏼🤶🏼
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Emmy.
Those are so cute. I'll need to try this!
