This is very similar to my partner's situation. Toxic workplace, narcissistic and gaslighting boss for 3+ years (she was an employee there for 14 years), then discarded March 2020, and her emotional capacity is majorly reduced. She has PTSD from it.
The tipping point for her is very close to the surface in terms of hyper-reactivity to change, fear of the unknown, tears, irritability, anger, lack of self-esteem, high self doubt, feelings of worthlessness and helplessness, and so on...
      You're not alone.

I am dealing with a lot of these external factors and I use many of these strategies to cope with them. Most of the time I'm golden until I have to enforce my boundaries with people who resist and refuse to respect them. These are the should and have to people. I cope by video coffee chats with my sister group, going to physical therapy, but most of all I've been making a ritual of savoring the little things like taking my time drinking a hot cup of tea in front of an open window or escaping into my video game Runes of Magic. You get a house you can decorate and it's your very own ASMR room. I just put it on my desk top and enjoy the fireplace or take my horse out for a ride on the trails. Hey it's covid and I'm escaping to my happy place.

In my rehabilitation I learned manage my emotional state of being. I learned to regulate my emotions.

    Hello Julia,
What resonates with me the most is your pause on our struggle about why we think taking care of our well being doesn't actually really matter. My immediate thought is because it doesn't (to others)! Our whole lives are conditioned to bending to the will of others or else. From childhood through adulthood, personally and systematically, we watch and learn how to be compromised explicitly, subliminally, with coercion and corruption, and told the result is our own choice. We are not part of a system that "actually really" cares about us. But thanks to people like yourself working to figure us out and communicate healthy solutions. Watching your videos is helping me gain the courage to standup for myself and benefit from my true value.
    P. S.
I love learning to fly. I've been at it on and off most of my adult life. I kept putting it off and at one point gave up on the idea. I'm back at it. Closer than ever to acheiving my pilot license but now under medical scrutiny. Here is a clear example to be present in life and not wait for the future to tie things together for me. There will always be something in the way of our dreams. Overcome those somethings now.

thank you for ur videos ☺️
Sometimes is nice to take a break from just a DID community and just hear that even those without mental health struggle with these things .

I recently went in my closet and did a primal scream... so fed up. Although it scared my BF and he said he opened the door to our bedroom to make sure the kids didn’t think he was killing me. I immediately felt better after the scream. He was alarmed and i was relieved. ;)

So helpful. I’m right on the edge, as I home school 2 kids plus I’m a vegan activist plus my marriage broke down and I’m having an affair. It’s a lot.
Edit: I’m daily dealing with animal oppression, it’s constant and it’s painful
