I recently started drinking matcha. I normally drink a latte every day since I have an espresso machine and enjoy coffee a lot. I noticed the difference in energy. Coffee can sometimes make you feel very jittery and almost feels like I took adderall lmfao. I still really enjoy coffee though and the energy coffee provides has its time and place. But I'm obsessed with matcha atm
Questions from a coffee drinker: 1. Can matcha be enjoyed "to go", taken in the car on the way to work? Or, are you just supposed to have it on special occasions when you have lots of time and can prepare at home? 2. How do you keep it hot? or, prevent it from cooling off too fast? Temperature seems to be so important. 3. Is daily matcha consumption affordable for the average person? (ceremonial grade as you recommend) 4. Can matcha be prepared and enjoyed in a less labor and gadget intense method? 5. Is matcha intended to be consumed without other ingredients? 6. I have tasted matcha just a few times, I don't recall the taste being overly desirable. Is it an acquired taste? 7. Is it common for matcha powder residue to be at the bottom of the cup or is this due to improper preparation? 8. When the matcha tea product description says it makes 40 cups, does this mean 40, 4 ounce cups? How many ounces are in a typical matcha cup? Thank you,
Hey ok. 1. Yes you can have it every day, multiple times for any occasion 2. From what I understand the temperature actually matters less with matcha than regular tea bags. It can be made with Luke warm or hot water as it’s simply powder into water. Teabags need specific temperatures to extract certain elements. Whereas matcha is pure powder meaning temperature doesn’t influence anything besides your drinking preference 3. Daily matcha is affordable when compared to daily coffee consumption from things like cafe’s. Affordability is relative to your own financial situation 4. You could put the powder in a cup and just pour hot water. Maybe whisk with a fork. That method creates a less consistent blend of powder into the water and can lead to bitter chunks of matcha. It’s just practical to thoroughly incorporate a powder into any liquid regardless of what it is 5. Ceremonial Matcha is made to have by itself. There’s options of matchas that are cheaper that are designed to be in lattes as more matcha may be required to have good flavour. If you were to use ceremonial matcha in your latte it may be expensive as you typically use more powder than a standard cup of matcha and water due to milk diluting the flavour. 6. I do believe the taste is of course personal preference. The quality / preperation / type of matcha all influence flavour. If flavour is an issue, given you mentioned you’re a coffee drinker. The latte matchas could be a better option for you as they aren’t as expensive and have flavour suited for coffe style drinks like lattes. 7. I have seen it gather on the bottom of cups. But so does coffee when you take a look. I’d say proper whisking and good incorporation of the powder before adding the full amount of water should rectify this issue although it might be inevitable I don’t know 8. It’s typical for 1-2g of matcha per 150mL of water. Do the math on any matcha you buy. Calculate per cup. Say it’s (I’m talking AUD) 50$ for 30g you get 16 servings per day. Like 3.3$ a cup. That’s based on a ceremonial tea. Cheaper teas like I reccomend for you (latte matcha) could be 15$ for 100g. Like I also mentioned you might use more matcha for a latte. 15$ for 100g @4g a cup you get 25 servings. 60c a cup. It’s all relative to the quality and quantity you get
To me, "ceremonial" ACTUALLY means "ceremonial" lol, and is saved for special occasions and enjoyed "straight," with water. For my daily latte fix, MANY people are TOTALLY fine with "culinary" matcha. My favorite is "Everday matcha" (by Sencha Naturals.) It is a mix of 1st harvest (ceremonial) with 2nd harvest (culinary.) It's quite affordable for a "everyday" matcha, (as the title suggests.) And matcha is very "portable," for hot OR cold matcha tea/lattes on the road. (I suggest the "Hot Shot" tumbler by "Yeti," which, like a thermos, and you can just "shake" the tea for the froth, foregoing the milk frother. Be sure to remove the rubber bands on the cap, (like you should with ALL YETI lids to get properly clean as so many forget,) I just use 3/4 cup water, 1/4 cup whole milk and 1/2 teaspoon matcha and I look forward to my matcha breaks IMMENSELY!

I always drink matcha in the morning, tea in the afternoon, and tea in the evening.
If I drink coffee in the morning I’m grumpy all day.
Yes I feel the same way. I'm glad you like it!
That's good bro

Yes, I always wanted to know! thanks!
thanks so much! I'm glad you like it
I've been drinking matcha the past week and wow the caffeine hits me even harder than a cup of coffee. Even with the L-theanine
interesting. I find the energy is better than coffee but it doesn't "hit" as hard
It definitely isn't supposed to hit harder. In fact quite the opposite, and that's one of its positive attributes.
The energy is nicer because it doesn't make your feel irritated or wrestless
How can I get updates on when you are restocked on certain matcha teas on your website. I'm looking for a sweet one.
yes we just got the perfect one back in stock called the henta matcha: nioteas.com/products/matcha-tea-henta
Hey we are now back in stock with a lot of our matcha teas! nioteas.com/collections/ceremonial-matcha
is ceremonial Matcha the highest Matcha in nutrients and antioxidants?
yes it is because its made from the younger leaves and the first harvest
Your thought on one cup of coffee before one serving of matcha?
that might be a lot of caffeine but if you're not sensitive to it you can go for it
Excellent video
thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the video
