However, using "Jack" as an adult is quite deferent, as a child he kinda got an almost sexual thrill from killing, but an adult, Jack wants to kill anyone willing to exploit children and murder them, no matter how many laws ot social taboos he has to break. Jack has his own developed sense of "Justice". It just takes abit of therapy from Blade Wolf (and a suggestion from Armstrong) for Raiden to accept the duality of his nature.

I still think the 'moral' of the monsoon fight is utter bullshit. Yeah. Sure. Fine. Those men weren't utter evil. They had thoughts, feelings, lives. They were desperate for any kind of work. They're still destroying nations to trigger massive wars. Are we, as Raiden, a Guy Who Can Do Somethinf About It, just supposed to ignore them destroying nations? Especially when you consider that Raiden seems to have had an important role in building those peaceful and advancing nations? Raiden and the people around him are doing important work and these fuckers come in like 1970s CIA and ruin everything for their own agenda. Every person you kill in MGRR is participating in ruining or ending the lives of millions for the pie in the sky dreams of a hypocrite. Is raiden a monster? Yeah, sure, he's fucking horrifying once you turn the soundtrack off, but he's not indiscriminate. He KNOWS he's a monster. And he restrains himself in who gets targetted.
That was my interpretation too. I never got the feeling that "Monsoon was right, Raiden is really evil"-- honestly, I disagree that that ever came across as a "moral". Raiden just beats himself up about it *because* he still is a good person doing the right thing in his own hyperviolent way.
You overlooked the fact that the people doing the killing have nothing left to live for. Remember, Raiden himself said "What choice did they have". It's the system designed to abuse people. This applies in real life too. Corporations are so big you don't even know who you're working for. Strengthen governments and corporations. Weaken individuals. That's terror. Terror built into the system.
I don’t know much about this series at all, but the way I see it, if your trying to murder innocent people and entire nations, even if it’s for just work, then why would anyone care if you get killed by someone trying to stop you? You were the one harming innocent people in the first place. And in cases where the henchmen are being mind controlled, why not blame the person controlling them in the first place?
Tbf, the best way to respond to this is to focus on incapacitating targets rather than killing them. Soldiers that have been de-limbed are not having a great day, but they escape with their lives and can't interfere with Raiden at that stage. Even if Armstrong is singlehandedly streamlining every soldier's limb replacement to get them back out there, it likely takes days or even weeks to accomplish.
I can't find good versions of the cutscenes without subtitles on UA-cam I mean I could go into the game and record it there, but that would be a bit too much work than I want to deal with.
Never before has something been so artistic or deep or whatever while not taking itself seriously in the slightest. Except for kingdom hearts actually but still it’s up there.
@@ajoajoajoaj well if its artistic or not is debatable i guess but you will not tell me with a straight face that kingdom hearts takes itself Serious. they named the ultimate key-blade the χ(Greek letter thats only kind of pronounces like ki)-blade. the whole series is doing dumb stuff and trying to see how long it can keep a straight face.
"Okay but Raiden, have you considered murder is bad?" 'Well duh. But by killing a few of you, I prevent the deaths and mistreatment of who knows how many millions at the hands of a bunch of psychopaths. It's like the trolley problem, except on one track there's a bunch of innocent puppies and on the other there's like, seven Hitlers. It's not a hard call dude.' "Well...shit."
The question is: Does he have to kill? Is there no other way? And the answer is, if course: Who cares, as long as Raiden gets to slice them up by the scores.
I still cant get over the fact that i played this game around 2015 as a child and just over five years later it suddenly became a giant fucking meme, Not saying i hate it but it was very unexpected as you can imagine my confusion when memes about a game i hadn't played in almost four to six years started popping up all over the internet.
why did that long silence at the end between wolf and raiden make me think wolf was gonna get flipped and cut up into several pieces Raiden: I NEVER REFLECT ON MY BEHAVIOUR
The whole reason why Sam and Monsoon tell Raiden how unsympathetic he is was to emotionally damage him so he doesn't continue to foil the senator's plans. Monsoon in particular is selfish and narcissistic, because if they themselves truly cared for the lives of people, then they wouldn't put them out against Raiden with the knowledge of the almost certain chance that they'll be sliced into pulp. This is a common technique done by Villains. By making their enemies believe that the villain doesn't have a choice and that everything is the hero's fault.

"That's it. I still don't."
I'm revisiting the whole Raiden's Wacky Week playlist and I just wanted to post one comment to say this is my favorite video of them all (Raiden's Resignation Letter is a close second), the comedy is just perfect, the random epic music video at the end is great, the superfast editing turns my brain into mush, I love it.

"Play song Devil Trigger by Casey Edwards" has to be the best punchline I've seen for a joke in a while. I literally had to pause it to laugh and catch my breathe
Raiden: "I love killing people"
Me: **hides the Mount Everest-sized burning corpse pile filled with those I've killed** "Me too"

@@jemobolqvadze6905 you saw what I wrote
@@thediam0nddrag0n78 and that leaves me with a question that I probably should not have an answer to
"You finally experienced fucking empathy"
Raiden : "NO ! It' can't be
Guess I'm gonna have to turn on Devil Trigger for a while, that way I de-empathize myself."
later
Raiden : "Yeah but I feel bad about it for some reason"
Doggy : "You do remember Bury the Light exists right ?"
I love how you capture the spirit of Max0r
Raiden just beats himself up about it *because* he still is a good person doing the right thing in his own hyperviolent way.
also, once you sign on with an organization that guts children and harvests their organs, you've already sold your soul

No Kevin, Solidus did. XD
My running theory is that kev checked in on raiden to make sure his emotions were being properly suppressed
Never before has something been so artistic or deep or whatever while not taking itself seriously in the slightest.
Except for kingdom hearts actually but still it’s up there.
Isn't Kingdom Hearts the exact inverse of that?
@@ajoajoajoaj well if its artistic or not is debatable i guess but you will not tell me with a straight face that kingdom hearts takes itself Serious.
