For yarn storage, I use bins with the yarn in individual bags. I put in lavender sachets, cedar blocks, and, when we moved, those moisture absorbing packets. Love your shawl!

Thanks for the shawl love. I do have some yarn in ziplock bags but I do like the "stackablity" of the shoe boxes. I use dryer sheets and lavender to deter the critters, I would like to invest in some cedar blocks as well, especially for my sock drawer.

@@CandiB.Knittin I didn't know the dryer sheets trick! I will have to try that!

My son asked me yesterday if we could switch rooms and I said Yes thank you! Now I am organizing my yarn and looking forward to a much more smoother knittingprocess. I get a light room with to windows, he is getting a dark room with only one little window but he will be gaming and sleeping in there so he'll be fine :)

How cool is that!? I have to admit, I've been eyeing one of my kid's rooms because she has a big wide closet, and her room runs cooler than the rest of the house. And I love organizing a new space. Lighting is a really important consideration as well, unfortunately my kitchen gets the best lighting in the house.

I'd love to see a video of your crafting space when it's done!
My yarn stash is in bigger transparent plastic tubs (with lavender sachets) sorted by weight and I have 5 or 6 upcoming projects in labeled project bags. Having yarn out on open shelves (out of direct sunlight) where air can flow through it and where it can be squished and moved is the best deterrent for moths (they like dark humid environments) but I don't have the space. Having my yarn in transparent tubs makes me open them often to think of ideas for future projects.

Thanks! I've never actually seen someone recommend open shelving, that makes me feel a lot better.

Your Vertices Unite is lovely so far. The SSK is typically messier looking than k2tog. If you pull the outer yarn ply after doing the SSK, that will help the look.

Thanks so much. Good to hear it's a common issue. I'll try your suggestion next time around.

SSK stitches as commonly knit are wonky reflections of K2tog - Patti Lyons has an explanation for 'why' that I haven't quite wrapped my head around. She also has videos on a one-move SSK that fixes the wonkiness.

Thanks, I just googled "patty lyons ssk" and a ton of stuff; Knitting Bag of Tricks is also on my "to read" list. I LOVE knitting theory.
