Kia ora, it was interesting listening to your learnings, it made me think about my own spinning.
I believe knitting or crocheting with your handspun is such a special thing to do, all that love poured into a project 🥰
For myself I love seeing how my imperfect thicker or thinner spun yarn look alongside commercial yarn in a project. And I think it’s okay not to be perfect, it’s what makes it an art as long as you enjoy what you do ☺️

Handspun definitely has a "spirit" to it, and it's great when it meets the "spirit" of a knitted project. I agree, I love the memories that come flooding back seeing my handspun in a project. And you're right, it's all art!

Yes, patience is definitely the keyword; that's my main takeaway/learning from my crafting.

You have such a soothing voice! Watched all of this whilst counting grams for my hand spun sweater, thankyou for the video.

Hello from Swansea, Illinois. I don't spin but your yarn looks great. I would knit with it.

Love your thoughts on spinning. I’m at about the same level with spinning as you. I’ve been spindle spinning awhile and got an e-spinner. I used some in in hat as a secondary color in colorwork but haven’t knit anything else’s yet with it. (I also split-spliced out my too thin spots ❤). I love your vertices unite - great way to start using hand spun.

Thanks for watching. Please keep me updated on your progress and I will too! E-Spinner, definitely on my list.

I have a "default" yarn i make if I dont stay really mindful when spinning! Definitely get a control card, it helped me a lot

Will do! I do love my default yarn, but there are some special projects I want to branch out into that it will be helpful for.

Thanks for your notes on spinning! The vibranium sock year is perfect for the i-cord border! I totally have the same issue with i-cords being tight, have never understood when people say they are stretchy and wondered what I was doing wrong. Thanks for the tip on upping the needle size for them.
I thought I was cheating when I spin as I tend to go more towards laceweight to keep consistency in the singles and the ability to ply it to what a project needs. Tend not to care about the length that I get. I like slubby, but not too slubby and this works for me.

Yeah, I also see people offer up i-cord bind-off as a stretchy option, and I'm like, huh.
I also skew to the thin side with my spinning and it's a super versatile option, but I'd also like to get to the point where I can spin anything on demand. I'd really love a bulky 2-ply. I'm on the fence about slubs, sometimes I embrace them as apart of the natural beauty of hand- spinning, sometimes I'm meticulous about picking them out.
