Hi Marthyn, I'm watching all your videos, really good job I'd like to have your opinion on the Heel-Toe technique, I worked about 6 months to get it (practicing as an amateur). But in most of your videos with always about swivel technique or simple stroke.
Bin mehr ein Old School Drummer. Aber hier entwickelt sich das alles weiter. Und so muss es sein. Hätte es einen Cozy Powell ohne John Bomham gegeben? Oder ein Simon Phillips ohne Billy Coham? Sehr gutes Video.
Thanks for your work Marthyn, and of course the same goes for David! I have a question, will the videos of these workshops be always available if I get the yearly suscription to the drumacademy website?
Saludos!
David: so i just put my feet here and i can get it started *brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* Interviewer: thats... interesting *skip ahead a few minutes* David: brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr “and thats it”
You are doing what i do/did? Left up right down. Its like traditional grip but for the heels/toes . I stopped for a few weeks and then switched to normal when relearning how to play.
Check out The Devil Wears Prada's old longtime drummer Daniel Williams! A pretty good video of him is a 2009 doing Sassafras and Reptar. OG songs. He's so passionate. ua-cam.com/video/GCBrIPl1_5M/v-deo.html. Or Mammoth by the same band a few years later ua-cam.com/video/_etMPTSFYYo/v-deo.html.
its only got the 2 legs, and gets part of its stability from the plate beneath the hi-hat pedal. Even this configuration gets in my way, I have one with no legs that attaches to my rack
If you really want to take your bass drum technique to the next level you should practice rudiments on hands and feet, and alternate between hands and feet. Speed is nice, but control and timing is king.
Matthew D That’s what Danny Carey (of TOOL) does...everything he practices with his hands he also does with his feet. But then again, we all know Danny Carey is a cyborg alien...

David is an absolute beast. Amazing at what he does. Definitely my favourite drummer!
Man, you guys super chill demeanor really betrays the level of drumming that y’all perform
I love watching David play. It's kinda of meditative.
I’ve watched David for years even though I’m not in the extreme scene. Always amazes me.
Great to see you Martin ! Every upload is a joy even for an non drummer fan like me .
Very cool video!
AMAZING MIRACLE
the inspiration, David Diepold
David, .... you are amazing.
Not bad for an elementary school teacher. I wish I had one like that!
Marthyn you lucky bastard. Nice work.
Is David Diepold really an elementary school teacher?
What a beast!
Legend.
Increíble técnica!!
My idol 🤟

Saludos!
Anyone know what brand and model this kick pedal is pleeeease??

My Idol 😍
David is the fuckin MAN!!!!
🔥🔥FIRE🔥🔥

What drum is this?
My hero 🤘🏾💪
I love these lessons, but is it possbile to hear the actual bassdrum sounds without the triggers? Thanks in advance :)
Nino Catacutan without the triggers, you wouldnt even hear it. Too soft
I think that kit has mesh heads on it so you wouldn’t be able to hear it at all without triggers
Marthyn, David and Krimh together?
Oida!
Good 👏🏼🥁

That double stroke on the bass I can achieve only by accident
Yeah, I thought that was actually mixed into by a repeater.
So both have played Lucifer Incestus.....
Both at 270 bpm
I not understand wheer is hi-hat satnd 3-rd leb. Mis hi-hat stand must get far do mot hit double basspedal chain-head,
its only got the 2 legs, and gets part of its stability from the plate beneath the hi-hat pedal. Even this configuration gets in my way, I have one with no legs that attaches to my rack
My god
Imposible.
Just like that...
“So its kinda like *bass pedal brrrrrrrrrrrrrr* ya know?”
Fuck those basses sound grand
Every lesson kinda tells you dont follow advice, do it your way.
REACT TO JAY WEINBERG FROM SLIPKNOT PLEASE HES A MACHINE ON THE KIT 🙏🏻
Thachary ..fuck no he sucks live!! just saw him..."Joey Jordison still destroys him any day"!!😈😈😈🔥🔥🔥
Finally
leg position and siting position- I see thet You are more far back in usual I play drums = knees not hit side way to snare sides.
Anybody ever told you that you look a fair bit like Peter Sellers?
richtig gutes video!

*Plays double bass to the speed of light with no effort* "That's it." Okay, that's it then :D
Chuck Norris has nothing on Diepold
Dude.....this guy is ridiculous.
