  • In this video Krimh explains how to find the perfect seat height when playing double bass and how he starts and stops double bass patterns.
In this drum tutorial you'll also learn about Krimhs foot technique at slow- and mid-tempos and he also covers his swivel technique for fast double bass playing.
These exercises will help you improve your double bass drumming (and it doesn't matter if you are using a chain driven pedal, a belt drive or a direct drive pedal like axis, trick or czarcie kopyto).

Thank you so much Krimh for inspiring me to never give up! Your so patience and you keep pushing me to be a better drummer. There are so many times I just want to give up cause I try and I try but can't do it, it's so frustrating! Unfortunately I do double strokes cause I can't do ankle at all. I don't get the concept of it and tried everything. But anyways thank you again.

I like krimh because in him, I see myself. I think a lot of our techniques, taste in music, and drumming styles overlap

Typically there is a negative correlation between power and efficiency (As power goes up, efficiency goes down and vice versa). However, Krimh is a master of maintaining the two at the same time and it is really inspirational!

It's insane how much a half inch in seat height can change your playing. I've got a weird lanky body,I always need my seat higher then I think. Saw the seat height video and raised it up like a half inch and I could play like 20 bpm faster and was more consistent at all speed.

Indeed. Anything is at play when it concerns the height and quality of the seating position/posture. It can literally handle your stamina and precision in ways that were never before explored. I also think that the height is the one that has most the influence when it comes to conserving stamina and relaxation.

Thanks so much Marthyn and Krimh! You guys have helped me so much with my double bass-i use two 24 inch kicks with Aquarian Super Kick heads and the old Danmar Metal Pads-Vater wooden beaters on my Pearl Eliminators-no triggers.🤘🤘Great videos

In two weeks my controlled strokes on my weak foot have gone from a sloppy 85 to a (almost) clean 160. This is dark magic, I'm so grateful for your work! I was just running into the need for pretension yesterday and today this came at the perfect time.

Now it all makes sense. I noticed a while ago that I developed the habit of resting the beater on the head. But that was only after I learned to play with ankle technique. Not sure if it would have really been an issue, but I fixed it to having the beater slightly in front of the head anyways.
