I had the exact same problem with my awning. I also used an Awl with waxed cotton thread. I would suggest taking the awning out of the bag before attempting to stitch it up. It really looked like you had your hands full. Just lay the awning out on the ground and sit on a stool and work your way along the bag.
The awning is attached to the bag. It was the bag that was ripping away from the top. We had it propped up on something so we didn't have to sit on the ground, but the driveway would have been another good option. 😊
Thanks for posting this. I have the same issue with the awning bag on my 07 Fleetwood and I had planned on doing the same thing but wasn't sure if it would work. Well, now I know it will.
Hey, in your playlist, prep & planning camp trips (couldn't find a way to comment there) you have a couple of out of place videos. A vocal warm-up and a drum worship video?! Anywho, just thought I'd try to let you know.
So mine done the same thing and I fixed it but mine happened before I bought my camper so when I bought it my awning was already off so my question is does the gray part just slide into the groove that's on the camper mine has two screws but it seems like something should go in the groove also but I'm not sure what cuz I wouldn't think just two screws hold it up there
Sounds like set screws. Ours doesn't have any set screws, but most campers do. Ours just slid in the track (with a couple people and a little wiggling.)
@@codytipton90 ours just has the rubber/vinyl track on the awning bag, which slips into the track on the camper. If you go to one of the pop-up camper FB groups, you could post a photo to ask. 🤔
I have a few and only got a couple comments a couple people said it just slides in a couple says you need a rope and I've been searching for a video but can't find them I appreciate it
I have used a stitcher like yours for years to stitch my shoes , and many other things , I use #100 fishing line for some things
I’m a baby about mine. As soon as the wind picks up I put it away. Great video as usual!
Yes, I think we might be babies now too. 😂
We learned the hard way about storms and awnings!
The awl is good for sooo many popup applications! 👍🏽 FYI, Your bag is on backwards. The folds should be in the back.

You can do it! Much patience is required. 😊
Same thing happened to my awning. Its been off the trailer for years, haven't got it fixed.
If you have some time and a sewing awl, this may be your ticket. 😄 Patience is definitely required. 😊
Good Job!
Thank you!
Great video!

Ha, thanks! I'll go through our list

Some people told me there should be a polyrope that slides in the track also
