To those who are not sure which charging board part to buy: When you take the charging board out just turn it over and you will see the part number. Thank you for this video. I had a old controller with the worst stick drift ever and my new one had a damaged charging port. Swapped them over quickly and successfully with your video. Thank you.
You don’t have a stable connection and must either get a new flex cable or try to fix the one you have. If those gold connections have any break in them it is useless.
I did this but replaced the charging port and maybe others with another controllers that had a different problem but it still won’t charge and now the light bar won’t work what do I do
Sorry man. I have two explanations. 1 is your controller is fried/busted. The second is you have to hold in the reset button. If you don’t know what the reset button is, just look it up.
Same. I replaced the usb port and ribbon cable. I can charge the battery manually by removing it from controller, then cutting up a usb cable and splicing in the red+black wire directly to battery. The controller lights up then and looks for ps4 to pair... however I don't have a ps4, I have controller to use on PC. Regardless it wont charge or connect to anything via usb. So I have no clue what to do next, either i did something stupid or the controller circuit board has a fucked part
I have two controllers that no longer hold a charge after wall charging over night too many times. Battery replacement does not fix. Will replacing the port fix it?
I repeat never wall charge your ps4 controller. Some fast charges break controllers always charge on ps4. Heck even buy a good usb cable from GameStop. But always charge on ps4 to be extra careful
Is your port broken in when trying to charge your usb has to be pressed down to work cause when I use a flashlight to look if it’s broken it doesn’t look like it is
Technically yes it is broken because it has a loose connection from the physical port and the green board it is connected too. Its a super easy and cheap repair so I would say go for it
Yeah it should be fine just try to attach it back to the actual controller first before putting the shell back on to make sure everything is still aligned
Are the charging ports different for the different controllers or are all of them same??because i've seen blue charging ports too...but i've green in my controller...

It is possible via the sticker which is on the backside of the controller. But I highly suggest opening it apart and checking what is written on PCB on charging port. There would be something like a JDS-001 or JSD-030. There are actually 5 generations so it could be 5 different parts. So really is best to open it up, check what you have in there, and order the same one. Cheers

My controller cant turn on with out USB cable..but works fine perfectly in cable.. I tried replace a new battery.. I'm still have the same problems.. Can u help a brother out?
So when you bought the new battery did you install it pretty soon after getting it? They usually come charged so if it wouldn't turn on then that's most likely a board level issue with the charging circuit. Maybe the battery was dead but who knows.
Hey, I did all the steps but it still won't charge I have no idea why the led lights on the port come on but it won't charge. I have tried to reset the controller as well. Don't think it's the battery. Any ideas?
I broke my lightbar light pipe. That piece with the 90 degree curve just above the charge port. Did some searching and can’t find spares. Anyone know of any listed or have any on a parts controller they’d sell?
