The joy of real music. No supermodel singers needed. No pitch correction needed. Just good old raw talent and commitment. So good!
Those of an age...do you remember when The Midnight Special first came on? It was soooo RAD! RIP Wolfman Jack!!!! May the Midnight Special shine its ever-loving light on you❣️
Totally remember that show!
When I was a young pre-teen my cousin and would listen to Wolfman Jack, WOKJ, Jackson, Mississippi. We could only receive reception in the middle of the night. My grandma would be asleep and we’d be jamming our young behinds off. Those were the days!❤❤❤
I watch some of him on UA-cam. Great show.
OH yeah, it was something special, because we were used to the WHOLE TV shutting down by midnight, with the sign-off recordings and that creepy holding pattern that basically said, "It's past your bedtime." We didn't dare miss the show, either, because there were NO VCRs back then, so no catching it later.
There has been so much great music in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Makes this old lady want to move and shake... LOL
Go for it girl! Shake that bootie😂
The Spinners.
"Could It Be I'm Falling In Love," and "I'll Be Around." Both 1972. Probably their biggest hits.
"Rubber Band Man" (1976) was their attempt to pivot to disco.
Classic Motown look and sound. LOVE that horn section....so rich and alive.
Not Motown, this is classic Philly Soul!!!!
@@lamontmerrickOpps. My bad. LOVE THEM ❤️
Motown first, then Philly.
No, you're right. Philly came later.
Horns and that 4 piece ( string) section! Been to the room where they recorded that 🎶🎶🎶 💜❤️💜 and saw the piano they used to all stand around practicing, with one of the writers( Holland -Dozier - Holland) playing and the Supremes, Stevie, Marvin, Levi Stubbs etc singing. Such a magical place. 💖🥰🤩
For me personally, NOTHING will beat the music from the 60's 70's and 80's.
Yay on The Spinners! Great group, great song, I find myself dancing around the room! Great choice Tim, & great to see big smiles from you. Thanks & take good care.
I love The Spinners! So many hits. Please listen to them sing "One of a Kind Love Affair"
The Spinners were one of my favorite groups. Getting back to my High School days.
The Spinners were a great group , very prolific in the 70's.. Some songs to check out are It's a Shame, I'll Be Around and Love Don't Love Nobody, to name only a few. Phillipe Wynn was the lead singer in their most popular songs until he left the group to join George Clinton's band.
What do you mean they "were" a great group? They are still amazing! I actually just saw them in concert, awesome show
So Encourage to see You. You had shared with all of us about some hard & challenging times that was happening in your life, and I just want to let you know that You are an individual that has touched my heart. You & your brother are kind hearted & full of grace & love. I am thankful to see these wonderful & endearing strengths you carry in your daily walk. Sadly we all have hurts & disappointments in our lives but it how we respond & react to them that makes us Good Human Beings. Continue to love & forgive, hope & trust in Jesus and He will continue to lift you up. You are precious and dearly loved. 🙏❤️🛡️
So beautifully said❣️
That apart...Remember God has you and your family! Much Love! ❤
Oh wow! Have not heard this song in ages! Great choice, keep playing them, thanks for sharing. 🐰🐣
I always loved this song!!!
The Spinners and this song bring back great memories!❤
They wee smoooooth…and a lot of fun…
I remember people dancing with rubber bands during this song -- similar to what they're doing in the video. People like me with less dexterity just pretended we had rubber bands and did the same dance moves. Such fun! More Spinners to add to your playlist:
Working My Way Back to You
I'll Be Around
Then Came You (with Dionne Warwick)
The Spinners, where do I begin. First of all review “Sadie”. It will make you cry!! The Spinners were another Detroit group. They were inducted in to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last September 2023. New Edition honored them in song. The last original member, Henry Fambrough, was in attendance but unfortunately passed February 2024. He was my church member and the new group still rehearsed there. Their first hit “It’s a Shame was written by Stevie Wonder.
Did not know Stevie wrote that!
I knew you would like this.
The Spinners are definitely a group worth more listening
I haven’t heard this in forever! Loved the Spinners! Tim, your smile is beautiful 😉 Those “boot cut” suit pants are “bell bottoms” … that’s just what we wore back in the day 👍
Such a great song!!! 😂❤❤❤. Love it. Spinners rock!!!
Awww man thanks for this!! I had this song on 8 track...back in the day. We went roller skating and danced to this when I started high school. Such great memories...I just danced the whole song! They were a popular group...✌️💜
OMG Love Don't Love Nobody ❤❤❤❤
Haha, I couldn't wait to your face when this started. The Spinners are one Class Act. This song has humor, that makes you smile. They also made other great songs! “Could It Be I'm Falling in Love" and “I'll Be Around" are good songs to start with.
One of the most popular groups of the 70's. Many radio hits.
Love 💖 the Spinners! Saw them in Detroit 1968
Great to see you feeling better. The Spinners are great
More Spinners.
Love this song great childhood memories 🤩🤩🤩🤩 💜💜💜💜💜
Boot cut, in my day they were bell bottoms and the bigger the bell the better I loved them covering my feet! Ahh music at it's BEST!
This song is so dope! I get so much pleasure watching your love of good music in real time 🎉
The Midnight Special was a show that featured many different artists and bands. You should check them out! 😊
This one of my grandsons' favorite song, he was introduced to it at age 5 when his granddad( DaDa) used to ride him around, he's 16 now, glad to see young people learning our musical history, I love watching your reactions.
Last member of this group, Henry Fambrough just passed away in February at 86. A classic Motown group.
You forgot Philly, too.✌🏾
NOT MOTOWN!!!!!!
They were from Detroit but reached their fame in PHILADELPHIA.
On the Atlantic label . With Thom Bell producing, as well as writing with Linda Creed.
And backed by MFSB of course.
They signed with Atlantic in 1972… I’m old enough to remember the 60s Spinners who were with Motown and the Motown subsidiary VIP. Saw them live in the “Motown Review” in the 60s at the Uptown Theater in Philly. I own one of their Motown vinyl’s…The Original Spinners (1967).
This song came out when I was 10. Made me giggle imagining an actual rubberband man. Loved the song ever since.
THE "GREAT" SPINNERS!!! LOVE ❤️ THIS GROUP. THEY ARE "LEGEND ". LISTEN TO "SADIE"; WILL BRING (WARMTH AND TEARS) TO YOUR "SOUL". THANKS "TIM"! 😊 ❤️ TILL NEXT ⏲️ TIME
The Spinners were a great group and had so many hits. I love this song. You should react to I’ll be around.
Just saw this and immediately thought of Paul Pressey who played for the university of Tulsa under coach Nolan Richardson. When this amazing playing was introduced they would play this song as he ran out onto the court. Still can’t hear this without thinking about TU Basketball!
One of my favorite "can't sit still" songs!
This song was so hot that Staples used it for their commercial LOL
Just a microphone and his background singers. The best.
I love this song!!!
Absolute classic, glad to see you enjoying it!
Love the Spinners! So many good memories! Hoping that you and your family had a Blessed Easter! 🙏🙏
I was 14 years of age and remember seeing this on TV in 1976. The lead singer left to the group to go solo, after a failed solo career he joined Parliament/Funkadelics . You can hear his voice on Uncle Jams Army, Knee Deep, One Nation Under A Groove. He passed away from a heart attack shortly after a Funkadelic concert performance.
Please listen to Funkadelics , Uncle Jams Army hear him sing with Bootsy Collins playing bass it's like magic.
YES Tim. Definitely need to react to some George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelics...that dude was on a totally different orbit!
Love the Spinners and Philippe Wynne. ❤
The great Philippe Wynne, often described as the last great soul voice and what a singer he was.
One amongst many of the greats of the 70s soul groups.
Hope you will discover them all.x
Check out Mighty Love.
Takes me back to my high school days back in Detroit! I liked this song so much-so it was fun seeing you enjoying it too. Thanks for the memories!
Woo hoo! Love the Spinners! Thanks for this ❤
Check out "It's A Shame" by The Spinners (written by Stevie Wonder)
Phillippe Wynne was so hot! The group itself was always bringing the heat. All their songs were good.
Great old school song, thanks!
I so wish one or more of the younger singers today would resurrect the Motown vibe. During the last American Idol finale when Jay was singing with Earth, Wind, and Fire.....every single person in the audience, young and old, was standing, clapping, and moving to their songs. Music (and sports) unites the country. We need that right now. (Hi, Tim!!!)
Your beautiful smile says it all. Love this. I'm 67 years old and we used to live for the "Midnight Special"!!! Thank you for all you do
That's a great song!
Fun music
The coordinated dance moves paired with the harmonies was classic for that time. I miss it. They had stage shows back then. Earth Wind and Fire and Parliament Funkadelic were all doing this as well as the Jackson 5 and many others of that time.
Your bonus homework is looking up New Editions version in tribute to the Spinners Rock and Roll Hall of Fame special! Johnny Gill was strutting around like a spry 33 year old when man’s nearing 60! 😭😎
Yes! I suggested this song a long time ago. Great to hear it!
GREAT SUGGESTION! This song always makes me so happy!
That was a monster hit back in the disco era!
Midnight Special ran throughout the 70s because our music was that good.
The best!
You will love just about anything from The Spinners!
Nothing better than the spinners
awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the greatest groups ever!
I loved the Spinners. Philippe Wynn passed away a few years back. 😢
When you have time, will you please play and react to Fantasia singing “Summertime”? She sang it on American Idol several years ago, and was the winner that Season! Love Fantasia! Hope you, Fred and your family had a Blessed Easter.🙏
My bad. The Group is The Temptaions for the song Papa was a Rolling Stone.
Boot cut pants? In my day we called them Bell bottoms.
YAAASS!
❤❤❤❤
Please listen to their song Papa was a rolling stone.
If you haven't done "Bad Luck" or "The Love I Lost" by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, please do ❤
This is one I like to have on in the car.
I love your energy man! You NEED more subs fr.
Please react to “Maybe I’m Amazed”, the live version, from the Wings Over America album.
You need to listen to the 90s song by Rappin’ 4-Tay, “I’ll Be Around.” It has an excellent sample of The Spinners, and is very similar to Kendrick Lamar’s “i.”
Check out living for the weekend buy the Ojays 👍
The ending with the bands reminds me of those things we used to play with - I think they were called Chinese jump ropes?
Just passing Thur what's up big brotha fun fact Phillip was the lead singer for Funkadelic in the 70s product by George Clinton knee-deep also Uncle jams Army check it out✍️
OmGoodness!!!! Here are some suggestions for this group 'It's a Shame" " I'll be Around".. "Could it Be I'm Falling In Love", "Mighty Love"
,"It's a shame" !! Check that one out😊

If u haven't done so, listen to Sly Stone Family Affair. Or Thank you. You will definitely enjoy.
👍👍💯❤️🔥
You and your brother played The Spinners' 'Mighty Love' off Obama's playlist.
And the ladies in the background-so beautiful and sexy and fully clothed!
Hi Tim! This was a fun reaction! I was wondering if you would react to "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton. Keep up the good work!
Hello Tim,
You need to check out 2023 RRHOF induction with New Edition paying tribute to The Spectular Spinners!
Listen to the album version. Jus much better all the way around.
Oh they did a bunch of good stuff!
Dude have you done The Staple Singers yet? RESPECT YOURSELF
Or "I'll Take You There" ❣️ They did react to "Do It Again" awhile back.
if you think you liked that live performance, then you would NOT be able to sit still if you heard the audio😀
That's my song and I'm only years old.🎶💙🎶💙🎶 You should listen to the recorded version too.
Go reaction doo wop music 💪🔥
In first with the "I know this song from Avengers Infinity War" comment.
A time b4 autotune when they could sing and play actual instruments
Iris The Goo Goo Dolls
Hey!! Please react to “Working my way back to you” if you get a chance! Always enjoyable to hear your reactions.
Where you been?
