The Spinners are an American R&B vocal group from the 50's-70's. They had a lot of great songs such as "That's What Girls Are Made For", "Love (I'm So Glad) I Found You", "I'll Always Love You", "Truly Yours", "It's A Shame", "We'll Have It Made", "I'll Be Around", "Games People Play", "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love", "One Of A Kind (Love Affair)", "Together We Can Make Such Sweet Music" etc. They had a big hit in 1974 with a collaboration with Dionne Warwick, "Then Came You".

They didn't have a lot of time because it was at a music festival so they played a medley of their biggest songs, this being one of them. I was bummed out but they had to give up the stage for the next act. They made up for it and ended their show with Rubbeband Man and kicked it.

Motown died out in the '60s, and Philly Soul took over the following decade as the new capitol of R&B/Soul, with The Spinners as one of the city's most successful groups. The Spinners, while originally from Detroit, had no success there. Its wasn't 'til they got to Philadelphia in the early '70s that they started churning out hit after hit after hit. _(The only reason you've heard people refer to them as, The Detroit Spinners, is because that's what they were known as in the UK, due to the fact that there was a British band already called, The Spinners. They were never called, The Detroit Spinners, in America.)_ As a general rule to know what's what: if it's '60s, it's Motown; if it's '70s, it's Philly Soul (aka, The Philly Sound). ps~How 'bout some more ELO, it's been 11 months since you last reacted to them! I suggest the studio version of their 1976 classic, *"Tightrope"!* You'll love it!

I mean you might as well just call it one of the best songs ever. It shows up on a friggin soundtrack every five years. It never gets old and everyone has the same mood when they hear it. Just a classic simple as that.

Woo !! This is an instant smile song !! I heard it a few days ago while driving and I know I acted a fool 😂. This is a great performance, but I still urge you to listen to the recorded version . I was fortunate enough to see them live . A Class Act .
