My base model has only had one issue of freezing in the nearly 5 months I've been using it - but that's one site so not counting that as an overall problem. It's a beast with battery life.

@@aanikethghosh2343 man my 1100 dollar dell from 1.5 yr ago has literally done so much worse. Freezing multiple times, worst battery backup possible, legit changed the battery and still randomly shuts down. U can fry an egg on it even if all u r doing is zoom meeting. Really disappointed with the purchase so planning to get the MacBook this time around.

I got the base model M1 Air about 4 months ago when I traded in my 2020 Intel MacBook Pro. I have absolutely zero regrets and even though my old computer had 512GB and 16GB of RAM and my Air has 256GB and 8GB of RAM, it works great.
I agree all the way. I've owned the 16 M1 Pro. Currently, I have a gaming PC that can edit videos too, on a 32-inch QHD 144hz monitor, that can edit videos; as well as an M1 MacBook Air. I absolutely love the Air and how little I spent on it compared to the 16-inch. I use it 90 percent of the time and plug it into the monitor when needed.
I grabbed one from Best Buy, right before Christmas for $799 brand new!! Best computer I've ever owned and it's not even close.

I got a gold base model with about 20 cycles on the battery for $650. Completely happy with it!
I got my base model Air for €949 a few months after launch and it’s been a fantastic laptop for all the editing I’ve thrown at it including a bit of client work I’ve done here and there on it. I can’t see myself swapping it out for a different laptop any time soon since nothing has slowed it down even when I was editing a 4K timeline with a heavy colour grade and effects

I’ve had good success with EBay’s refurbished program for several electronics. Their program seems well-done and the service was excellent. The prices were not rock-bottom, but overall the balance of service, pricing and how their program is done worked out well for me.

Bought my MacBook air m1 for $600 off of marketplace had everything with it and everything checked out. Only had 20 battery cycles at the time and is still a great laptop.
Costco 512mb MBA was $1049 ($150 off current price), but just went off sale 2 days ago. You forgot to mention no ?’s return policy & warranty enhancements - 90 days & double Apple’s 1 year to 2 years AND double that to 4 years with CostCo-Citi CC! Warranty does not include physical or water damage, but does include manufactures no-working things.

I commented on your previous video that I purchased mine at Costco. My original purchase price was $949 like you show in this video. That is their everyday price. One week later it went on sale for $799. I took it in for a price adjustment and they refunded the difference in cost to me. I picked mine up at my local warehouse.

wow how you could catch it lol. I was stationing in Costco for weeks and never saw it went down under $849. Ended up purchasing a almost-brand new one from Ebay for 730 total though. Not a brand new sealed one, but only 1 cycle charge. Seems like that person did not like the base model :))

if you're in college/know someone in college, many college book stores will give you the education pricing as well as no sales tax. I bought my moms that way. I got mine used basically new for 700.
Gary, next time you do one of these kinds of videos, should take a look at Swappa. I've been using it to buy and sell and it's been a dream. Imo, it's been worth looking at.
I bought one. I’ve maxed its memory several times. No crashes but had to keep hitting optimize memory every 20 seconds.

My best bet on Ebay for years. I spent hours on Ebay to see if there is something good. Most of them were either too expensive (>$750 without tax) or not best conditions. Caught one *just listed* with almost brand new condition, 1 cycle charge and paid $728 in total for it. The machine came flawless and the only missing thing is the manual. But I'm happy with my M1, way way better than my company's $1400 RRP Surface laptop 3.

Got my 256GB 16GB Ram M1 Air for 800 Brand New, been loving it apart from the WiFi being oddly slow or not loading at all every now and then even though the WiFi is quick (issue only happens on the MacBook)

It’s tough to know that the cheapest option for a new base mode M1 air here in Brazil is around 1300 dollars. It’s still one of the best options for a premium laptop considering the price. I hope the price drops on the next few months so I can get one

I have the cheapest m1 air (except with 1TB storage) and it’s so good I was able to work on a paper with 30 tabs open at once and it didn’t even go above room temperature. With my old windows laptop I would have been waiting 5 seconds to see my mouse move.

Try…..some of those eBay picks, you missed the “parts only” banner under the listing. That’s why the low listings are so low…
recently got a m1 macbook pro 13 and honestly i kinda wish i had just gotten the air, wouldnt had have to pay as much, about the same performance and, while the touch bar isnt terrible, its not very useful either and just creates more problems than it solves with the few times i need to use the function keys. also kinda prefer the look of the wedge shape and it does dig into my hand a bit when using the trackpad.
I used to really like the MBP 13 and while its not bad anymore, its lost a lot of its usefulness because of how good the MacBook Air is.

I bought mine last month from Costco for $800. They go on sale randomly. However, they do not offer with the purchase Applecare. You have to buy it separate.
Here in Mexico a base model is $1,251 USD from Apple website and we don't get the refurbished section. The marked for used Apple products is person to person and renewed on Amazon but I have only seen for iPhones and iPads. Only Macs I've seen on Amazon are refurbed Minis, Pros and Airs from a Turkey seller with 2015 models.
Costco currently has them at $866.5 USD after a $144.43 USD coupon (normal is $1011).
To me it is a great price considering my local market prices but I'm still not sure I want to give it a shot considering the next Air is around the corner (even if its later this year and not in june like "rumours" say).
I rarely recommend waiting, if you have a need now buy what you need now. Who knows when/if the rumors will be correct.

Micro center is the best. I just got a brand new macbook air M1 base model for only $700.
Costco had great deals about a month ago which is when I purchased my 13 inch MacBook Pro. The M1 base model was $1,099 so I felt like that was a great deal to go for the pro over the MacBook Air. $100 difference for the fans and touchbar (which I’ve never used before).
I went with the same deal a year ago with bestbuy & love my MacBook Pro 13.
You do get 100nits of more brightness & more battery in addition to fans & Touch Bar.
How come everyone Loves the battery life?
I use the basemodel and do some stuff simustaniously like zoom, terminal, visual Code, 5-20 Chrome tabs, apple notes app ans thats about it. The battery lasts for like 5hours, while i am also using a 2nd screen (2k 27inch). Tbh the workload on the cpu is not much at all and almost not existing on the gpu. Even though I use 2 screen 5 hours is not a lot of usage i get out of a full batterie. And Also i kinda feel the 8gigs of ram are not enough sometimes

It looks like you are in Ohio and perhaps in Columbus based on the gear you have. So, Columbus MicroCenter really has some good prices but often for in-store only.

I just curious about ssd health for refurbished mac, especially for refurbished macbook m1 chip. Many people just talking about performance, battery health, or cheap price of refurbished macbook air/pro, but i think not just all about that.. No one talking about refurbished ssd mac ssd health, considering the "SSD Swap Issue"

It’s such a shame that a new base model M1 Macbook Air costs around 1300 USD where I live. If Apple was selling it here for the same price here as in the States, it would be a no brainer, but for 1300 USD it seems better to go for a high performace windows laptop.
BTW thanks to Apple’s pricing, almost nobody uses Macs here, so the refurbished store for macs isn’t really a thing here.
1300 is a pretty rough cost for this one, I don't know that I'd be as excited about it if it were so expensive.

With these prices it's no wonder only hardcore Apple fanboys buy Macs here in Czechia.
