First Aussie 😁. Ryan , you truly are the master of the lawn . It all happens on the Lawn Ranch . So when is the Moustache wearing mountain man coming to visit ? Long overdue . 🤠
just had an accident in my front yard.. washed out the container but completely forgot the hose and the RoundUp nuked a nice little 3x2 area of my trophy lawn. My fescue was pristine and now I've got a dead spot from that so I'm reseeding right now in 90 degree weather. Fun times.
Nice review! Also, glad to see I am not the only one who will rationalize the purchase of something on the cheap side to buy time while researching a much superior product. Harbor Freight is good for this purpose but I draw the limit around $25 and only if I know I can still use the cheaper product for jobs when I don’t want to corrupt my more expensive purchase.
If you go through a cheap sprayer with Teflon plumbers tape and a bit of dielectric grease, oil the piston part and check tightness on all the connections you will have a sprayer you can trust to not leak because 9 year old Chinese kids can't tighten connections tightly at their factory.
I would use a step bit or simple drill bit to minimally ream the nozzle cap peice in order to fit the teejet nozzles. I did this with the $19 Harbor Freight pump sprayer and it does quite well with the Teejets.
Try to flip the nozzle around too. I had bought a different nozzle from another manufacturer for the My 4 sons sprayer I have and tried it like he did at first. It didn’t fit and I was just going to bore it out a bit. Before that I took the nozzle and inserted it from the opposite side just to make sure I wasn’t cocking it to one side and sure enough it fit. It looks exactly like the one he has.
I fully understand not wanting to spend a lot of money and get it fast. OK, fine. My issue is why Americans keep buying made in China stuff. By doing that , we are supporting our enemy. China is itching to overtake us, and be the #1 world player. I quit buying made in China stuff (a couple of years ago) wherever possible.
Do you have a link to a sprayer with no Chinese parts and has no components assembled in China? I believe even the FlowZone sprayers have at least some Chinese-sourced parts because it's difficult or cost prohibitive to try to get them anywhere else.
Thanks for the video. You topped me over the edge, so I bought one! Agree the tip that it comes with puts out to fine of a mist, so I will be ordering a TeeJet like you added.
Another Sunday morning video drop 🙂☕️🌱. I’m thinking about getting a battery powered sprayer this year so I’m looking forward to seeing what you find out. By the way, the grass looks amazing 👍
Have you considered 3D printing an adapter? Thingiverse might already have a model for you. If not, the folks at the 515 Makers Space in DSM could probably help you.
Crazy how much it looks exactly like a certain brand of more-expensive sprayer that other content creators show on their channels… almost like they all come from the same factory in China and there’s no difference except for the brand label.
I bought that same sprayer with a different name on it 3 years ago. I've used it all over my urban half acre. The only problem I've had is that the wand split up the side, so I bought a metal wand from Tractor Supply for a few bucks. It works well every time I need it.
I had that same issue with a Kobalt sprayer. Ended up take a drill bit and opening up the hole in the pieces that it came with just a touch. And now I am able to use all my Tee Jet tips with the Kobalt sprayer.
I messed about with a cheap sprayer last year but ended up just biting the bullet and buying a good one, saves so much time and effort and makes liquid feeding a joy to do.
Had this kind of sprayer (same tank, but the bottom part is slightly different) for years: had to replace the pump once (generic high pressure 12v pump with pressure switch) and the battery kept dying (probably long periods between use) so I tossed it and made an adapter for bosch 12v lithium - much lighter and just pops out for charging. Mine also has molded level markings on the side, but the water level is hard to see through the body so have to I align it with the sun.
Just a suggestion, know anybody that's handy with a 3d printer? Maybe they can use the tips u like and make a duplicate design which would fit the preferred tip design into the the design of the new sprayer. My daughter's friend made some doll shoes to fit some of her small dolls. Time was minimal, actually overnight and he has cameras monitoring 3d printer which notify him when job was complete. Just a thought. Mb a small sprayer might be of use if your wife needed to spray any plants planted outside the house. I am 67, 5ft female who detests pump sprayers, and would love a inexpensive, light weight, battery operated sprayer for spraying mixtures on my 2000 sq ft lawn. $15 1 gallon pump sprayers don't work are too heavy for me to pump and carry simultaneously. Think a backpack battery powered would be better 4 me. The one u bought interests me at the pricepoint. Certainly, would need tips modeled after a good set of tips. Don't like running chemicals thru sprayers that u directly attach to your tradiional hose either. Don't want 3yr old drinking water from a chemical contaminated hose either. Actually prefer she just drink water from a water bottle.
Hey man I've seen in your other videos that you own a Milwaukee sprayer. I feel your pain as that thing is a huge piece of crap. The first 2 I bought leaked and the one I have now loses power... hands down the worst tool I have ever bought
That just looks like the orange version of the My4Sons sprayer, it definitely has that cheap chinesium material. It works good for basic spraying, but definitely not something you want to use often.
My4Brothers makes a nice 4 gallon battery sprayer. Definitely look into it. Nice set of accessories as well. I'd get a stainless spray handle like that one though
Drop in sprayer into spreader like the lawn rebel is the way to go. Ordered yard mastery backpack sprayer last year. Figured let me spend the money and not worry. After a season I had to worry. Had some issues that I just didn’t want to deal with anymore. Ordered a 5 gallon tank and pulled the pump and battery from the backpack sprayer to build a sprayer rig.
Hey Ryan, with such a large area to spray, have you thought about making a sprayer on wheels with multiple heads like Connor built? Unless you enjoy getting your steps in, haha
Field King ProMax is an excellent sprayer. Very nicely built for $200. Good spray pattern, quiet while using. Fairly heavy duty too. Just clean out after every use like you already do and should last quite a while.
20 year cannabis production here 👋 Our most important tool is our battery powered sprayers and we’ve used them all. If you’re serious about working with a decent sprayer, go with the ryobi 4 gallon sprayer. Has more than enough power and long lasting. Nice big opening so you can fit your meters in there to test ph and such. Take my advice and spend the extra $50 and get something that’s gonna last. We use these everyday and like I said, it’s our most important tool. These cheap Chinese ones will just make your life complicated in the long run
I’ve been using the Petra tools hd4000 for the last few years and have been happy with, I don’t have a ton of experience with sprayers but I don’t have any complaints
What happened to the one you sell on your site? I bought one last year and had the pump go this year but the company honored the warranty and sent me a new pump. Hoping it was just from battery or clogged inlet as I cleaned it really well when I was done and charged up the battery so we will see next time out.
I did a fair amount of research on sprayers for a month or so and came across the my 4 sons sprayer. For still $100 less than the flo zone I have an in-tank agitator, 100psi pump, lithium battery(can also be purchased with adapters for and major tool brand battery), a large amount of tips, 14ft extendable wand for spraying in high places, and the upgraded all metal pistol grip spray wand. I’ve only used it a handful of times but so far I am very pleased with it. It also seems like almost every part on the thing is available for separate purchase in case anything breaks. “Buy once cry once” it was more than I wanted to spend but I honestly feel like it was a solid investment. Another big reason for the purchase was its very highly rated customer service. Something that’s very hard to find now a days.
