People who say SprintBooster is a gimmick clearly haven't tried it. I've had it in my MINI Cooper S the last couple years and can't imagine driving without it. When I turn it off the MINI feels like a goddamn Prius even in sport mode. Once under way, it actually makes your car quicker because engine response is so much faster. Boost hits NOW, not in a second... Real world example: you need to pass someone and the window is very short. With SB you can hit that opportunity no problem. Throttle hits quick, turbo spools instantly and you're gone. Without it, you better think twice about that pass.

My experience was similar (on 2006 N52 E60). It's just a mapping but the effect of it is substantial. The default mapping on drive-by-wire BMWs is very conservative and very unlike a cable operated throttle actually works. It's meant to give you more precise control and especially to smoothen out the acceleration and lessen the fuel consumption. The sprintbooster changes the mapping and really makes the engine feel stronger, but especially makes driving more fun because smaller inputs produce bigger results. It's kinda similar to quick steering ratio - if you like a car that reacts to smaller inputs, that feels alive, you'll probably like it. I even installed the E60 "sport button" mod on my car in hopes that the BMWs own throttle remapping will provide the same effect as the sprintbooster and that I will be able to sell the sprintbooster then, but it doesn't. It's actually similar in 0-30% range in that power comes earlier in the pedal travel, but it still saves the last 20% of engines power to the top 80-100% range of the pedal travel. Springbooster doesn't do that. You literally get all the power in the 0-50% travel, as soon as 10% if you're in the low revs, which is how I remember cable operated throttle to work. I leave it in green mode and just disconnect the controller, so nothing looks modded in the interior and I'm for the foreseeable future not getting rid of mine. Don't let the rationalization that is "just a throttle remap" dissuade you from trying it. How a car reacts to its inputs is very important and changes the "feel" of the car very much.
It works great on my Colorado but read the directions! It says do not change modes while using the accelerator pedal. This is the way drive by wire cars should come from the factory.
My headers & intake elbow were pretty noticeable with a tune but I agree you really feel the difference with more throttle reaction. Some people say they don’t make your car faster but I think it’s a traction issue because it definitively improves 60 foot with the right tires
I've got the sprint v2 in my 2015 chevy 1500 and it makes a big difference in throttle performance. It gives you instant access to power as opposed to the momentary lag you get before power is delivered. It becomes a much smoother power delivery and makes the vehicle nicer to drive! Also from what I understand it will fully open your throttle 100% where as the stock throttle mapping at wide open throttle only opens 85%. I'll be buying version 3 for my mazdaspeed 6.
it doesnt make the car top speed increase, but it does increase throttle response by a whole lot, so i believe 0-60 does increase because the is reacting way faster than usual, some of your pulls seems to come from a 330ci not an 325
This cannot make a car faster. That notion is ridiculous. All it does is make the car think you are pushing the gas pedal further than you are. So if your 0-60 is faster all that means is you were never flooring it before.

I had one on my G35 years ago. I agree it doesn't just remap the throttle. It does change some other nuances with the throttle. I really liked the one I had and thought it was worth the money.
I used to look at this product as a skeptic as well. "Just stomp on the gas pedal faster/harder!" The thing is, your body can sense the difference in milliseconds, so even though this isn't much time, it's still very noticeable. Don't look at it as "just adjusting the throttle mapping" but look at it as "accessing the power your car has quicker". If you mostly drive at 1% to 75% throttle like most people do, then you will benefit from this and similar products. No one floors their pedal ALL the time.
GREAT REVIEW VIDEO!!! As another e46 enthusiast, you made me feel like I was there with you. I'm sold and really want the product but I'd rather spend on the essential needs. Thoroughly enjoyed this video and your channel has grown so much!! Keep up the good work man!
@@realgamer1789 I have a newer vette and a tune. which got rid of the lag basically but the sprint makes it even more instant. it is a blast driving with it
Just got mine yesterday and am going to hook it up in my Dinan tuned X3 today and I feel a whole lot more confident in my purchase now! Lol. I can’t wait to drive! Thanks!
Hey guys , These units will give you that 1:1 ratio throttle control your car . Provides access to all the power your car can make when you need it. Right now your throttle body opens slower then the throttle being pressed. This gives your car that "disconnect" feeling, making it somewhat difficult to drive. If you do not own one, try one. I see soooooo many people that don't own the product tell people how it they don't need it or they can just hit the pedal harder. This is incorrect. I always recommend using these along with a tune and together they work AMAZINGLY!!! Do yourself a favor....buy one and see for your self. Most companies have a satisfaction guarantee. What do you have to lose? Just my 2cents :)
I love how the SB v3 performs in my ‘17 Tacoma. Best truck investment for me. Installation requires very-very awkward and uncomfortable effort, but it’s well worth it!
I have an earlier version of this for my Z4. The difference is night and day. It may have been the best performance boost I've done for my Z and yet it only remapped the throttle response. Pricy, but worth every penny.
Its true. The cables allowed instant pedal response. Sprint Booster makes it instant again which is why people that like how the old cars felt also love Sprint Booster. If you have any questions on Sprint Booster, visit our site at www.SprintBoosterSales.com. We are USA's Leader in Sprint Booster V3 Products.
You know I've been skeptical about these pedal tuners because I thought they just adjusted the sensitivity. Glad to know it actually makes a noticeable difference in driving feel and actual throttle plate opening speed. I've always felt my throttle response was slow when flooring the pedal and just believed it to be turbo lag. But now I believe its the drive by wire system. Ordering one to try.
I had a Pedal Box which is a similar product in my 2015 Golf R and it was great. It was a DSG auto and I think for an auto with drive by wire it's a must. For a manual transmission I'd say it's a toss up depending on your driving style. Good review.
Hey TH! I have the sprint booster in my e46. I love it! Installed it last yr. and never complained. I keep it in the green mode (sport). Red (race) mode is too much for me. I have the version before the one you demonstrated so I like the extra features they added. Mine is just off, green, and red. No levels, valet, or cut offs. Cool though. Pricey but well worth it in my opinion. As always, thanks for your demos.
I had the sprint booster for a while before I returned it. It doesn't make for quick throttle response. It actually amplifies the distance traveled by the throttle, so within the first 2cm of throttle travel you get to red line. It takes the time same time to get there tho but with less throttle travel.
My experience with it, is that it allows you to access full throttle sooner. Since it opens the throttle body "earlier" that equates to "quicker" hence you can get to full throttle very fast. With much less delay.
One car that it IS worth it on is an R53 Mini Cooper s. They have SUCH a sluggish pedal, and especially with the supercharger, it definitely helps make the car a lot more fun, and at least makes it FEEL faster, from a roll
I bought that pedal commander and I got error codes and check engine light and my car stopped in the middle of the road I got a refund how do I know the sprint booster won't do the same thing?
Thanks for the upload! Was super skeptical before but now all I want to do is buy one and see how much of a difference it makes :-) /Cheers from an equally icy Sweden
*These have come a long way, but to answer the question which I imagine by now you know, this DRAMATICALLY improves 30-70, 40-80 times, and passing, .....just not on snow, LOL!*
His response in the beginning gave him away. I want one I have the same exact car....Love the E46s...best beemers ever....DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NAY SAYERS IT'S AN ABSOLUTE STEAL OF A CAR ABOUT NOW . PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THEM.
Three things: 1) Thanks for a great review! I'm sold and will be contacting JRP, cuz I'm in Toronto too. 2) Love that you're driving an e46 with a manual. I still miss the sweet sound of a BMW straight six. 3) Three years later, do you still recommend this mod?
If these things have multiple settings/levels (1, 2, 3, etc.) why not find the setting that works best for your situation? I'm sure most wouldn't need it on the max setting all the time. The valet mode and kill switch are nice features especially if you have friends/family that (want to) 'barrow' the car a lot.
The best thing about this device is the ability to cut throttle power by 50%. This will be useful when taking my car to Firestone because those guys love to run and gun my car in their test drives and it scares the bejesus out of me.
Thanks for your explanation about the throttle. I've explained this to mechanics, but they don't seem to understand the technology in a throttle body (not sure why.) Awesome review!!
Have an 320i 2008 MT. Came from a non drive by wire car. Have huge problems getting used to the sluggishness of the throttle. In the beginning I stalled the car several times. Also, in quick shifts, sometimes throttle will be too low as I disengage clutch and the car will stutter. Will definitely test this out. Bit pricy for some cheap circuits though.
DixieFatline: Could get a Vitesse for $179, or - if you want German - Amazon has X-Pedal Pro for $169 I recently installed the Vitesse ('cause that's what the GM guys were using - like Mopar guys were using Pedal Commander) and my reaction was the same as the author. In a 2017 Camaro SS, you can REALLY feel the difference!
It is not making your car faster it is making it quicker. So yes it is making your car more powerful the same as a 1/4 mile motor is made to react faster therefore getting to the end of the track faster/ quicker. It’s not fooling you into thinking your are making more power, it is making more power that your car already has by giving it to you sooner, how fast work can be done is part of the definition of horsepower,
I have a 2011 accord 2.4 and a 2005 TL 3.2. When it comes to acceleration the accord has better instantaneous response. When I drive the TL I have to use my foot more to get a similar response to the accord but its still not as instantaneous as the accord. So I do see the point of what Sprint booster means by opening the throttle quicker.
I'm not too knowledgable about cars, but came across this product because my car (2015 Mazda CX5 Sport 2WD) has a 'lag' feel to it when you press the gas, and this was supposed to remedy that problem. could you do a video for automatic transmissions? I would be very interested in hearing your live comments and hearing an automatic car shift with the Sprint Booster installed. btw - you make it look like an easy installation... I'm afraid I'd mess something up... lol.
Awesome review. Just bought one for my S5. The throttle sucks on this even with a stage 2 tune. I know it works because ive had one on my Jeep for years.
I've owned the PC in my cobalt and have tested the SB in my 07 Explorer (will be buying the SB soon). Both will make your car much more enjoyable to drive and will feel like you've added 100lb of tq. Its difficult to pick a favorite but if I had to choose I'd pick Pedal Commander only because it looks like a solid little device and feels more expensive than the two plastic plugs and a skinny wire that goes to a small tiny controller.
Great video and review ... always wanted one on my Golf R as the throttle response is pretty numb from the factory. I think for people wanting "linear" pedal response, then it's worth the money ... especially if you track your car or like to drive "spiritedly" on the street. Think I'll just have to pick one up from JRP ;)
The only thing that I am skeptical about now is that would the throttle opens quicker with one of these installed? I don't think this little device can remap the throttle response. It only gives you access to the potential power of your car earlier but not quicker. So the throttle lag still exists! Although you said it actually reduced the throttle lag. I don't believe it will do!
Great review, I know its difficult to review an item when its something you have to feel in order to understand it. I've tried both pedal commander and sprint booster, both make the car feel much faster. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for that seat of the pants improvement.
people say doesnt make a difference but if u have faster throttle response your faster off the line u can problably shave a couple miliseconds to 60 with this.
@TheWoundedNinja @TheWoundedNinja Then you did not read the comments at all. You are the first person who has said this, and other than me only a handful of people have been able to understand how this works. This one is just a little different than all the rest of them. All others have a similar way of programming. But your statement would actually be the opposite. It eats gas quicker, therefore it wants more air, so it breathes harder, but no better.
What's to be skeptical about? It's just an electronic aid so that you have to press less on the gas to get the same effect as pedal to the metal. No performance gain what so ever. I understand this and I would love to purchase one for myself.
John Lee you get a performance gain in acceleration. Just not a Horsepower gain. But we get what you said! Just wanted to clear that up for any noobs reading.
actually several people including myself have tested 0 to 60 with the stock setup versus one with the sprint booster and because it makes the power faster it does decrease your 0 to 60. it's really noticeable on cars that make alot of top end but not so much low end due to throttle lag. In my C230 for instance the 1.8l supercharged motor makes a ton up top but it's laggy under 1800rpm. The sprint booster made a huge difference almost as much as when I had my eurocharged software installed as far as throttle response goes.
I have a Pedal Commander on my r53 Mini Cooper and really exaggerates the throttle response. Definitely does what is advertised, and I'm pretty happy with the product. I generally keep it on City sport anything above that is just too much for my daily driving.
I have a 2015 Genesis Sedan. So it's a CVT transmission... My issue is initial throttle from a stop gives me a hesitation, it's not traction control per say, but the computer seems to think for a second before it let's the car go... like it's "checking" for traction before it goes. . Would this help eliminate that? It drives me crazy! and I'd be so sad if spending $300 didn't fix it lol. Thanks for any replies :)
Hey, T.H., have you looked at the DIY tuning options available? I don't know if your car's ECU is MS43 or MS45, but if it's an early-build car, the MS43wiki has a ton of useful info. If you've gotten INPA up and running, you can get a DIY throttle pedal/thermostat tune functional as well.
computiNATEor share more on this thermostat ECU tune please. I drive an e46 328ci & want to know how interesting INPA is. So I might just go out & get one & do some cool stuff on my car
Lanre Oladejo Cool stuff includes exhaust pops and crackles, EWS deletion (helpful for engine swaps), launch control, DTC Suppression, E-thermostat reprogramming, rev limiter increases, throttle pedal remapping (so you can get a Sprint Booster without the button, essentially), and a bunch more.
I just bought a 530 e60 manual. I noticed it requires a full down press of the throttle to downshift properly and that it feels sluggish to just get up to speed. I've owned an e34 5 speed before so this throttle response feels absolutely foreign to me. Thanks fly by wire. People have said this product remedies that, but I'm worried about the ECU getting bent out of shape. Is this really a product that revives that organic throttle response of old bmw's?
Thanks for the review. I might just end up buying this out of frustration as I'm sick and tired of being forced to drive my 325ci like a granny becuase of deliberately engineered throttle lag and my other pet hate, the clutch delay valve. Since when did BMW become a nanny state car manufacturer?
This works for my all electric car Chevy Spark EV . Was very skeptical but all this does is send the voltage signal at a speed faster than the factory Ramp up for drive by wire systems , giving you control over the addition or subtraction of throttle position sensor curve. Testing now for my video out soon on my channel.
Deffo gona get this for my 2010 E90 320i . but one question i have is wouldnt the valves opening too quick might cause some damage overtime to the engine due to a quicker power strain on the engine/components? nice video tho
I use them on all of our cars... green #1 (eg lowest setting) is all I need to get the response I want from Mercedes SUVs. Used this on a few and it works great. $289 delivered in the ststes, plug and play, easy!
I wonder If this V3 still can be used as M3 Sport button mod? There is a thread on ZHP maffia about the V2 wired to the M3 Sport button and it worked. Nice little "retrofit" it would be

Thanks Han!
HAN'S GARAGE just wondering if I have a Ktuner in conjunction with this can I get the most from the vehicle
Hi sir where are you from ?????
You are great guy sir
@@realgamer1789 I have a newer vette and a tune. which got rid of the lag basically but the sprint makes it even more instant. it is a blast driving with it
Just got mine yesterday and am going to hook it up in my Dinan tuned X3 today and I feel a whole lot more confident in my purchase now! Lol. I can’t wait to drive! Thanks!
Hey guys ,
These units will give you that 1:1 ratio throttle control your car .
Just my 2cents :)
b-b-b-but...you can just press the pedal harder!
/sarcasm
opmike343 dead lol
seems like a great tool to wear your car faster.
Master Chief how do you do a tune?
@Master
I have one in my 2005 M3. I LOVE it. Your description and analogy are spot on.
I wish it was more like $200 instead of $300.
Pricy, but worth every penny.
imagine cable used to do exactly that back in 1940
Actually not even that long ago, the E46 had a cable up to the 2000 models.
Lol right hence y I love my 91 with a cable throttle 🤘🏼🧑🏽🔧🏎🏁🤣🤷♂️
You know I've been skeptical about these pedal tuners because I thought they just adjusted the sensitivity. Glad to know it actually makes a noticeable difference in driving feel and actual throttle plate opening speed. I've always felt my throttle response was slow when flooring the pedal and just believed it to be turbo lag. But now I believe its the drive by wire system. Ordering one to try.
How’d you get on?
Holy shit it's Tony Stark's Life Model Decoy. Also? You actually signal and have restored some faith in humanity.
It doesn’t give the car more horsepower, it just removes the throttle lag from the factory settings
He said that
Best explanation on pedal map tuning. Very helpful, and think I will try one as well.
Benjamin Morales had the same one for my cayman S. this new one is pretty cool
Thanks for making a proper review on this. Good to finally see if it's worth the money. Great video as always.
installed it on E91 2006 330xi automatic. Massive difference, different car. Way more response on the gas pedal. recommended!
E46 Reviews with T.H. Thumbs up, I'm for sure getting one for my 335i, has really bad throttle lag, this should help! Thank you!
Best product I've owned for my A6 & A7!! Sprint booster is the way to go over other comparisons!! 5th year and it's perfect 👍🏽
One car that it IS worth it on is an R53 Mini Cooper s. They have SUCH a sluggish pedal, and especially with the supercharger, it definitely helps make the car a lot more fun, and at least makes it FEEL faster, from a roll
I have it on my R53 and love it, made a huge difference
I bought that pedal commander and I got error codes and check engine light and my car stopped in the middle of the road I got a refund how do I know the sprint booster won't do the same thing?
@@ere5763 That's what I'm wondering. 🤔
I love how many views this video has for your Toronto Rust bucket.... good for you.
You should of gone all the way to number 9 on the race mode that would of been fun to watch lol 😝
(Spongebob Voice) I DON'T NEED IT.
nah i need this for my lancer
(Spongebob voice) I NEEEEEED IIIIIIT!!!
Im getting this speed booster for my Mini R53 cant wait!!😊
His response in the beginning gave him away. I want one I have the same exact car....Love the E46s...best beemers ever....DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NAY SAYERS IT'S AN ABSOLUTE STEAL OF A CAR ABOUT NOW . PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THEM.
I loved my 325i Sport with a stick. Still miss it, but had to upsize to a wagon. Hope you're still enjoying yours! One of the last great BMW chassis.
This is a fantastic item and has made my car a joy to drive !
just got an e46 330ci zhp so im currently binge watching TH e46 videos
The best thing about this device is the ability to cut throttle power by 50%. This will be useful when taking my car to Firestone because those guys love to run and gun my car in their test drives and it scares the bejesus out of me.
"I'm not going to use the instructions" "...what does that go to?"
Thank you so much for testing this in the snow. Loved it!
Thanks for your explanation about the throttle. I've explained this to mechanics, but they don't seem to understand the technology in a throttle body (not sure why.) Awesome review!!
tried this in my 2.4 tigershark. amazing response.
Haha bro I’m so happy, I just bought one of these last night glad they work
Have an 320i 2008 MT.
DixieFatline: Could get a Vitesse for $179, or - if you want German - Amazon has X-Pedal Pro for $169
I recently installed the Vitesse ('cause that's what the GM guys were using - like Mopar guys were using Pedal Commander) and my reaction was the same as the author. In a 2017 Camaro SS, you can REALLY feel the difference!
It is not making your car faster it is making it quicker. So yes it is making your car more powerful the same as a 1/4 mile motor is made to react faster therefore getting to the end of the track faster/ quicker. It’s not fooling you into thinking your are making more power, it is making more power that your car already has by giving it to you sooner, how fast work can be done is part of the definition of horsepower,
It's worth it and I believe these cars should of came with them from factory instead of only the M3 and M5.
Thanks! I’m sold. Ordering one for my f36
TH you should test the shark injector.
cameron bailey the rktunes.com chipped ECU for $500 & the jimmy konforti sharkinjector obd2 ECU kit as well
I'm not too knowledgable about cars, but came across this product because my car (2015 Mazda CX5 Sport 2WD) has a 'lag' feel to it when you press the gas, and this was supposed to remedy that problem. could you do a video for automatic transmissions? I would be very interested in hearing your live comments and hearing an automatic car shift with the Sprint Booster installed. btw - you make it look like an easy installation... I'm afraid I'd mess something up... lol.
Did you try it? Considering such a device for my Mazda 6 due to input delay. I have a 0,5s delay when I press the pedal and the engine start reving.
Awesome review. Just bought one for my S5. The throttle sucks on this even with a stage 2 tune. I know it works because ive had one on my Jeep for years.
Excellent and thorough review.
Dude getting off the pedal was insanely tough lol
Have you or anyone else here compared this to Pedal Commander? I’m seeing passionate supporters on both sides. 🤷🏼♂️
Zoomby_U well it wont helt with the turbo lag though
That you can fix by removing the torque limiter in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the ECU. You can also remove the clutch delay valve which helps as well!
Zoomby_U removing clutch delay vale only help when you dump the clutch. Innit?
It makes the clutch engagement much more direct and easier to slip the clutch. Makes it feel a bit more responsive on initial take off
Zoomby_U that's nice. Any detailed guide on how to do this ?
The only thing that I am skeptical about now is that would the throttle opens quicker with one of these installed? I don't think this little device can remap the throttle response. It only gives you access to the potential power of your car earlier but not quicker. So the throttle lag still exists! Although you said it actually reduced the throttle lag. I don't believe it will do!
Great review, I know its difficult to review an item when its something you have to feel in order to understand it. I've tried both pedal commander and sprint booster, both make the car feel much faster. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for that seat of the pants improvement.
It basically open the throttle body with no lag, 8:26 you are correct
Nobody reads instructions when they get a new toy...lol....the impatience to get it working lmao 😂
people say doesnt make a difference but if u have faster throttle response your faster off the line u can problably shave a couple miliseconds to 60 with this.
Thank you for the very clear review
It essentially makes it breathe better from what I read here in the comments
@TheWoundedNinja
@TheWoundedNinja
Then you did not read the comments at all.
I'm getting my bone stock 140,000 mile E46 325i Sport decarbonized AND remapped in a few days, cant wait!!!
If you've gotten INPA up and running, you can get a DIY throttle pedal/thermostat tune functional as well.
computiNATEor e90 320si
Harry Williamson Wat?
computiNATEor share more on this thermostat ECU tune please. I drive an e46 328ci & want to know how interesting INPA is. So I might just go out & get one & do some cool stuff on my car
Lanre Oladejo If you have any further questions, let me know! I'm happy to help.
Do some 0-60 to see if it really helps get up there quicker or if it's just making rev out quicker
It used to eliminate the throttle lag problem and improve the throttle response. Make the pedal accelerator start faster, more sensitive.
Hell yeah it worth it on a 5th gen 4runner. I get dumb people ask me what the is it
Imo it isn't a necessity but better response is a fun factor for sure.
im thinking of buying it only for the pedal lock tbh! theft protection :P
Does the sprint booster eliminate the throttle adaptation? I'm sick of the adaptations caused by rush hour traffic.
As long as you don't have the device on "auto" mode, yes!
Very useful information, thanks for posting this
Very thorough review!
Thanks for the review. I might just end up buying this out of frustration as I'm sick and tired of being forced to drive my 325ci like a granny becuase of deliberately engineered throttle lag and my other pet hate, the clutch delay valve. Since when did BMW become a nanny state car manufacturer?
Ben A put clutch stop
patrick del i have looked at one of them but forums say to just remove cdv
This works for my all electric car Chevy Spark EV . Was very skeptical but all this does is send the voltage signal at a speed faster than the factory Ramp up for drive by wire systems , giving you control over the addition or subtraction of throttle position sensor curve. Testing now for my video out soon on my channel.
Any chance this would do damage of any sort???
Finally a real reaview.
Sooooo how bad is this for the longevity of the clutch? Specifically in an F56 JCW?
Deffo gona get this for my 2010 E90 320i . but one question i have is wouldnt the valves opening too quick might cause some damage overtime to the engine due to a quicker power strain on the engine/components?
nice video tho
Let me know if there's any difference. Thinking of getting it for my 2010 e90 323i!
