I never ever ever thought I would ever install a Tornado on any of my trucks….let alone a Pedal Monster. My 21 F350 pedal was squishy as heck. Ridiculously so. I swallowed my truck enchancing pride and installed the Pedal Monster on my truck…..Absolutely glad I did!! Ps….I have a flatbed and I tow alot to. Still worth it!
Purchased and installed mine this week on a 2016 Ford F150 Platinum. Works exactly as advertised. I landed on a Sport Setting about 70% and it feels much improved over stock.
Just installed on my 2022 Chevy Colorado. Install was simple (just like all throttle controllers) and the Pedal Monster does exactly what it Banks says it does; fix the dead pedal built into just about all modern 'drive by wire' systems. My truck now feels like cars did in the 80's, when the gas pedal was mechanically connected to the carburetor. And now I can actually feel the 308HP that my engine is rated at. That ends my review, but if anyone reading this owns a newer Chevy and uses the MyChevrolet app on their phone, you may want to keep reading... And now I have something that my fellow Chevy owners may be interested in: I have the MyChevrolet app on my iPhone. I like it because it gives me real time diagnostics, lets me locate my truck via GPS, and most importantly, remote start my truck from anywhere. (Very important in NY where it can be 6 degrees in Winter and 95 degrees with 96% humidity in Summer) Unfortunately, after installing the Pedal Monster, I noticed that every time I opened the app after turning my truck off, I would see numerous diagnostic alerts; everything from engine, transmission and antilock brakes, to emissions and StabiliTrak indicated that they 'needed attention'. I wasn't getting a check engine light, just warnings from my app. And those 'Alerts' would clear themselves as soon as I opened the apps details screen anyway. But despite that, I was still a little worried about the alerts since GM sends me a monthly diagnostic report based on the app, and I was worried that they would be able to track the mod and give me crap about my warranty. So I called Banks tech support, and the very helpful representative told me that because the Pedal Monster runs off of, and gets info from the OBD port, this was probably blocking the Chevy apps ability to get real time diagnostics and causing the alert. He assured me that this wouldn't be traceable and even if it was, I could just say I was using one of those dongles that insurance companies give out to monitor safe driving, but that if I was really worried about it I could simply disable the reverse gear safety function on the Pedal Monster, and that should clear up the conflict. Since the reverse safety was one of the main selling points for me, I wasn't about to disable it. And as long as nothing weird was happening with my truck, I really didn't consider it a big deal to just refresh my Chevy app every so often. However I just discovered another 'fix': I'm running the stand alone Pedal Monster and I noticed that if I DON'T open the Banks app on my phone when I'm driving, then the Chevy app doesn't notice anything. This is totally fine with me because I'm not one of those guys who's constantly playing with my settings. Sport +1 is my sweet spot and I haven't found the need to change it since the 2nd day after the install. Of course if I really felt the need to use the Banks app while driving, I could just refresh the Chevy app after I shut my truck off. So that's my story. If you're a Chevy guy and this helps, great. And to the guy's at Banks tech support, you may want to relay this info if you ever get another call about the Pedal Monster messing with the MyChevrolet app.
Love the pedal monster on my 2021 Silverado 2500 gas, amazing to get that instant pedal response! I usually use low sport, really helps get up and go with our camper hitched up, and adds fun when unloaded 😊. Tried track once, and lost traction pretty quick lol. Factory tires couldn't keep the 7k lb. truck hooked to the pavement.
should always be a linear thing like old throttle cable. 50% pedal = 50% butterfly movement simple & easy. if they so worried about emissions why not fit the trucks with smaller turbo charged engines then.
This thing was a game changer on my Gladiator Ecodiesel. I haven’t even tried it in track mode yet as I’m afraid I might lose control. It will spin 37” tires in race mode at 50%. It’s amazing. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t gather my truck Data like engine diagnostic through the Jeep app when pedal monster is plugged in.
I know it's wishful thinking - but man it'd be nice if you could put this together for the ds4 6.5's out there - given what Gale has done with the engine in the past, it would be great.
I don't see the purpose. There are only a handful of 6.5s running around these days. Most who own them are people who don't care to modify them. They'd likely lose money making it.
I purchased this for my 2019 ram 3500 megacab 6.4 hemi. It does not get rid of dead peddle from a stop, that lag is there no matter what adjustments you make. Also from time to time the light indicator for 2wd, 4hi, 4lo won't be illuminated, so you'll wonder if it's in 4hi or 2hi. It does greatly improve peddle response through the gears, it makes the truck seem snappier. Also the peddle monster works on the peddle but the does it keep the transmission safe?
My thorough and unbiased review.... 11/11/24: Removed my Pedal Commander module on my 2016 F-150 3.5L V6 naturally aspirated engine. I am not a mechanic and didn't realize the PC was causing my AdvanceTrac to have glitches. Didn't realize (what I thought was the problem i.e. faulty wheel speed sensors, ABS connection, etc.) wasn't the issue and that it was the PC causing the issue. What truly made the PC module unsafe was once the AdvanceTrac issue would occur, I would immediately lose a lot of power. If I were stopped at a red light and had my truck in sport mode (which is a stock feature), when I punched the gas, it would take forever to get my truck up to a normal operating speed. Imagine being at a red light and you see someone potentially flying up behind you, would be a miracle to dodge them! Called Banks directly to speak with an employee who was pleasant to work with and also offered words of encouragement regarding their product. 11/17/24: My wife got me the Banks Pedal Monster as an early Christmas gift. She gave it to me early because the online dealer had a 30 day return policy and she didn't want me to have to deal with a potential problem of the Banks module not working. It took me all of 10 mins to install it and little longer to calibrate, upload the latest firmware updates, etc. I tested it in city mode- nah, not much to speak of. Went to max sport mode and could see a clear difference, then took it to max track mode and definitely could feel the difference. 11/18/24: Will say the Pedal Commander in full 'sport plus mode' comes a little close to the throttle response I now get with the Banks Pedal Monster, but I hope it doesn't cause any glitches like I had with the PC product, because then it becomes a $295 waste. I have high hopes for it to last for a very long time and love the fact that it's able to constantly communicate with the OBD.
I had the 2011 Tacoma V6 - and had mastered how to wring the power from that engine (basically put the shifter in 4th gear, and punch the throttle if you need power. It would give it to you with what I thought was negligible delay, and there wasn't really a need for a throttle controller. Going to a 2020 4R Limited- Toyota definitely softened the accelerator curve (and I think there are two curves - one for part time 4WD trucks and one for full time 4WD trucks, since I drove both for an extended time and both had different feel to them). The 4R Limited has this really slow off the line acceleration - the only way to get it move is to already be rolling at 5 mph or so, in 4th gear, and punch the accelerator- and it may end up moving, but it's not very consistent. Since the Power Monster seems to be safe and definitely is legit, I may have to give it a try!
It’s actually amazing!!!! My tires literally spin out on track lol. I do not use that one or sport cause it’s insane! I use city and it’s perfect! 2007 dodge charger HIMI. Thank you Gale!

Need this for a 2004 Chev 6.0 in a 2500. Getting real sick of it holding the rpm when I put the clutch in. Basically impossible to rev match and engine braking suffers a ton as well.
have the Pedal Monster on a 2021 F350 6.7 Super Duty. Still have the dead pedal once in a while. Sucks because when I've needed to accelorate, I couldn't .
Would like to see one for my 2015 Lexus RX450h AWD Hybrid. There is a sports mode which does bring more power but still doesn’t take advantage of the hybrid system. The ECO mode also doesn’t take advantage of the hybrid battery prematurely starting the generator taking power away from the engine.
We got you covered with a PedalMonster, here's the kit you'll need. bankspower.com/collections/compatible-products/year_2016_make_Lexus_model_RX_engine_3-5L-Hybrid#throttle-controllers
No. PedalMonster is a throttle sensitivity controller for gas and diesel vehicles. In basic terms, it changes the pedal position in relation to the throttle to eliminate that mushy feel. In many of today's cars and trucks, auto manufacturers have implemented what's known as "throttle enrichment delay." This is a fancy term for sponge pedal.
Does this help with gas engines I have a 08 chevy 4.8 I think it is... do you think this will help it or is just that weak of an engine that this won't change anything
Yes it can help. There is no doubt PedalMonster will dramatically change the throttle sensitivity input. In this case, we suggest also stacking it with our Automind flash programmer (which adds horsepower) for the best driving experience. PedalMonster does not use the +5v pedal reference circuit for power. It merely references the voltage to know the pedal's position, just like the ECM. So, there is no draw from the pedal circuit. The module is powered by +12v from the OBD port. When the vehicle's ECM goes to sleep and the pedal's +5v reference circuit drops to 0v, PedalMonster shuts down. It will not drain your battery.
I have a Ram 3500 with the Aisin transmission. Does the Pedal Monster put pressure on the transmission. I'm told some of these transmissions don't like instant power, do we know if that's true?
The PedalMonster is not a tuner. It does not add power. Its job is to allow you to access the power your truck has, quicker. So to answer your question, no, it does not put any added stress on the transmission. On a related note, the Aisin trans is stout and can handle more torque than the HO can produce.
Yes but your sending more juice through the peddle to where it believes your mashing the peddle when your not..I do believe the transmission will get some abuse.
@MrStaybrown all that it is essentially doing is shortening pedal travel. where stock was 0---25---50---75---100 The pedal monster would make it more like 0-35-55----80----100 Same power, it just takes less applied pedal to reach it.
I can appreciate the thought put into this product. But shouldnt the solution be to get the vehicle tuned correctly? A good tuner should not only change the pedal tables for various modes but also the torque ramping rates for various modes/speeds/torques etc. Or maybe this product is focused on people that dont want to tune the ECU? In which case that makes sense.
Our '24 Duramax is pretty lazy off idle from a stand still but pulls hard around 1800rpm. Is there a way to smooth out just this small window without having the rest of the throttle throw really aggressive? I'd just like to make it a little more linear in that short window, if possible.
Same. This is a pretty big deal. It seems either the transmission is limiting the engine or the ecm is. It’s definitely programming as the instant power around 1800 rpm can break the wheels loose. Plus it doesn’t matter if you floor the pedal from a start or just feather it slightly. It’s the same acceleration until 1800 rpm.
My 24 is the same... almost nothing till around 1800 rpm. Im hoping that GM will have an update that will fix it. And hopefully the lag is not because of the mechanical upgrades to the L5P they made in 24. I bought mine mostly because of all the talk about how much low end power the upgrades made, but I have to say the low end has been disappointing.
A “little?!?” Did you seriously just call THREE FULL SECONDS a little?!? Ok I’m just being dramatic but seriously, It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever encountered in a vehicle. Nothing comes close. From a dead stop, floor the gas pedal and at the same time clock it until the truck begins to pull. Three seconds! It’s asinine. I’m so pissed off at GM I’m seriously considering trading in my brand new Sierra Denali on a Ford. Anyone know if they are doing this same crap. My truck does 0 to 10 in three seconds. A fucking tricycle sixty-foots better.
@@derrickrr5516 I have a little over 4000 miles on it now (1100 towing our 5th wheel) and I've gotten used to it. It is worse when you mat it but if you roll into the pedal it behaves much better. I'm pretty sure it is all torque management with the ECU as it only happens in 1st from a stop. It no longer bugs me but it sucks when you first drive it after driving something with better throttle response.
I have a 21 GMA 2500 Crew Cab, it’s pretty Responsive at least better then out 14, 19, Dirty Max’s so I want to see what recommendations you can give me to buy from you as it’s has 37,075 miles on it so the Warranty is gone. So what’s your thoughts on what I can use to get my HP, Better Peddle Response, fuel Mileage is Pretty darn good 26 mph in Average Economy.
It's absolute BULL $HIT that the programming from the factory is trying to get the most fuel mileage. I have installed a pedal controller on my '14 Jeep Cherokee, and am getting better mpg AND unleashed jaw dropping response. When placed in certain profiles, I have a hell of a lot of fun taking on sport cars at the lights because they thought they were going to blow my doors off. And i am there right beside them while only pressing 1 or 2 inches on throttle. 😃
Gale I just bought a used 2020 awd ct6-v with only 7000 miles and was wondering what mods i can do to engine to give me more power and fun? The more the better for me. Please help and advise as well as any Banks service areas in the upstate ny area? Thank you, sir, ~Jennifer ~
Is it possible to use this to get a 1:1 pedal to throttle plate opening with no delay and no silly response curves? The delay makes rev-matching downshifts and heel-toe difficult to almost impossible but I don't need some stupid response curves that has the throttle 7/8 open with the throttle only half way to the floor.
Yes, you can stack the PedalMonster on top of any tune! Here's the PedalMonster for the 3.0L EcoDiesel and 5.7L Hemi. bankspower.com/products/throttle-controller-64311-pedalmonster-throttle-sensitivity-booster-for-use-existing-idash-or-derringer-for-many-cadillac-chevy-gmc-chrysler-dodge-ram-ford-jeep-lincoln-mazda?variant=40940401262789
Would this work with a aftermarket tune with a German car? I have a mk7 golf with a stage 2 unitronic tune. And one thing I'm not completely happy with is the throttle response, though it is far better than factory it's still not as what I want. I came from the world of cable throttles and though they shouldn't respond better they do! And I know that's all due to corporate coding on the vehicle!
It’s a long shot but was hoping to try and get the opinion from the man himself or at least a qualified engineer over there. I’m pretty sure you guys would be on the same page as me but I’m open to constructive criticism. I’m currently doing a custom water to air intercooler on a twin turbo bmw n54 engine and I’m getting a lot of backlash within the n54 tech group. the cookie cutter method people use are these ridiculous stepped air to air intercoolers (look up n54 stepped intercooler) and I look at that and think that can’t possibly have optimal flow characteristics. Additionally there seems to be some misinformation and I believe confusion about the volume of the charge air system volume. It’s my theory that if you can minimize the the length of the run from turbo through intercooler to intake you minimize the volume and that translates to a higher average horse power. I think people are confusing pressure drop across an undersized intercooler tho. The consensus is to slap this huge park bench looking stepped intercooler on the baby stock turbos and that’s the best method
Do you guys make any thing that fits my toyota avensis t25 d4d. I could only find us models and not many European models. I would love some banks stuff on my avensis
Is it compatible with the ez link auto agent 3, I have a titan xd, and in the summer ri plan on doing some performance mods (for off road use OC) but will the tuner at all cause problems
Mr. Banks, I'm very interested in your Pedal Monster but I drive a 2021 Honda Pilot and currently you don't have a PM product for my vehicle. Your folks tell me that there my be one in the future but for now your company is placing its priority on the "big 3 truck companies". When I look at the list of automobile manufacturers, I wonder why Honda is not on the list? My perception is that there are thousands more Honda's on the road than some of the other manufacturers. I think you product is a much better solution for the transmission delayed response problem and look forward to the day Honda gets on your list!

Why do you need all these settings?? Yes I also say heck with sponge pedal. So pedal upgrade is needed but why not just a 1:1 just like a cable pedal? What’s wrong with cable pedal? Why would you want more then what a cable gives? Just think a single setting to equate to what a cable does is what you want and need.
You can't have a physical cable in a drive-by-wire vehicles. Regarding stock drive-by-wire pedals in modern vehicles, they are not 1:1. That's the misconception. When you push down 50%, you may only receive 35% throttle. Because it's electronic, vehicle manufacturers can give you any amount of throttle at any pedal position and it's usually not 1:1.
I pushed my transit van from manual select shift to automatic and the trans decided to shift into 2nd gear at 8 and fucked everything up. Which is a common select shift issue Would this potentially fix those issues?
Does it help with the horrific throttle hang on fords when you let off the throttle? It's bad enough that there's a delay on acceleration, but it's not even safe how the throttle hangs for a second when you let off.

It’s actually amazing!!!! My tires literally spin out on track lol. I do not use that one or sport cause it’s insane! I use city and it’s perfect! 2007 dodge charger HIMI. Thank you Gale!
Got it on my '18 f350 & love it 🥰👍💯
Do you have anything else on it?
I have a 2019 f350 dually. Just tuned and deleted it and still laggy at 35-40mph
@@doubleeranch169 I've got some more Banks stuff: Ram cold air, 5" Monster Exhaust, Derringer(power level 3), Pedal Monster(city level 10) with both idash Super Gauge & idash Data Monster...my truck is also a dually: crew cab long bed & all stock OEM equipment...the Pedal Monster has taken all the lag out👍...no more "Oh Crap" when pulling onto a busy highway!...best Bang for your Buck!!😉
Proof that engineering wins!
Sure, as long as you're not required to meet CAFE standards...
Need this for a 2004 Chev 6.0 in a 2500. Getting real sick of it holding the rpm when I put the clutch in. Basically impossible to rev match and engine braking suffers a ton as well.
I installed my PedalMonster in my 2020 Silverado DuraMax 3.0 today. Wow!
I have the opposite issue, with Incredibly snatchy response at low rpm and straight off the bottom.
I vote for a Supercharger or Turbocharger with supporting mods for more throttle response
Yeah bloke - put a f*cking huge turbo on to improve your low end response.

@@StarHunter28 Yeah I know that's why I'm a supercharger guy!
have the Pedal Monster on a 2021 F350 6.7 Super Duty. Still have the dead pedal once in a while. Sucks because when I've needed to accelorate, I couldn't .
My peddle monster doesn't get rid of dead peddle from a stop, it still has the lag from the get go.

What about cars or trucks with the auto shut off at traffic lights or stop signs? Will it keep the car running?
No, that requires tuning or at the very least toggling that feature off.
So will my 2011 6speed have a real responsive throttle like my 03 6 speed with this? The throttle is atrocious on the 11
My 2002 trailblazer pedal reminds me of driving an old diesel. The first 1/4 of the pedal doesn't do a whole lot.
Does this module change the shift profile of the automatic transmission?
I miss the old days when we had a simple throttle cable 😢
I wanted to buy a newer truck ... not any more thanks banks for the information
I’m curious. I thought slow throttle response was a way of limiting emissions during transients. Does this thingy add more soot load to DPF’s? TIA😊
Does this help with gas engines I have a 08 chevy 4.8 I think it is... do you think this will help it or is just that weak of an engine that this won't change anything
It changes your throttle response, making it more responsive, when applying throttle input.
Yes it can help. There is no doubt PedalMonster will dramatically change the throttle sensitivity input. In this case, we suggest also stacking it with our Automind flash programmer (which adds horsepower) for the best driving experience.

So using the live power feed of the OBD2 port doesn’t keep the CAN-BUS system awake causing a flat battery of left for a few days?
PedalMonster does not use the +5v pedal reference circuit for power. It merely references the voltage to know the pedal's position, just like the ECM. So, there is no draw from the pedal circuit. The module is powered by +12v from the OBD port. When the vehicle's ECM goes to sleep and the pedal's +5v reference circuit drops to 0v, PedalMonster shuts down. It will not drain your battery.
I've had my truck sit for weeks with pedal monster plugged in, started right up
I have a Ram 3500 with the Aisin transmission.
@@bankspower Thank you for the response.
Yes but your sending more juice through the peddle to where it believes your mashing the peddle when your not..I do believe the transmission will get some abuse.
@MrStaybrown all that it is essentially doing is shortening pedal travel. where stock was
0---25---50---75---100
The pedal monster would make it more like
0-35-55----80----100
Same power, it just takes less applied pedal to reach it.
Same!
I need one for my Hyundai SUV!
Y’all gonna add Hyundai anytime soon?
I have a 21 GMA 2500 Crew Cab, it’s pretty Responsive at least better then out 14, 19, Dirty Max’s so I want to see what recommendations you can give me to buy from you as it’s has 37,075 miles on it so the Warranty is gone. So what’s your thoughts on what I can use to get my HP, Better Peddle Response, fuel Mileage is Pretty darn good 26 mph in Average Economy.
It's absolute BULL $HIT that the programming from the factory is trying to get the most fuel mileage.
I have installed a pedal controller on my '14 Jeep Cherokee, and am getting better mpg AND unleashed jaw dropping
response. When placed in certain profiles, I have a hell of a lot of fun taking on sport cars at the lights because
they thought they were going to blow my doors off.

Is it possible to use this to get a 1:1 pedal to throttle plate opening with no delay and no silly response curves?
The delay makes rev-matching downshifts and heel-toe difficult to almost impossible but I don't need some stupid response curves that has the throttle 7/8 open with the throttle only half way to the floor.
Is this compatible with a Diablo inTune 3 platinum tuner on my 2015 Ram 1500?
Yes, you can stack the PedalMonster on top of any tune! Here's the PedalMonster for the 3.0L EcoDiesel and 5.7L Hemi.

Push it!
Would be nice to try one before buying it. Maybe have a rent to purchase deal.
Would this work on a big rig with a Cummins?
Every car I've ever driven needs this exept the GR Yaris. Worst was a Mercedes CLA 220D, absolutely horrendeous pedal feel.

We need a Pedal Monster for the Infiniti G37.

I hate that this has to exist to get instant response. While old cars just have a wire you get instant response witouth the drive by wire bullshit

Does it help with the horrific throttle hang on fords when you let off the throttle? It's bad enough that there's a delay on acceleration, but it's not even safe how the throttle hangs for a second when you let off.
Unfortunately, no. The hang is caused by the ECM. We do not alter or manipulate the ECM.
