Very informative tutorial. Thank you. Please can you tell me what chair you’re using as it looks a good tall chair to adjust. I just can’t find the correct chair to sew with. Thank you 😍
That is a Koala SewComfort Chair. They're wonderful: www.qualitysewing.com/koala-xl-chair.html
Enjoyed your teaching video! For the kitchen towel which wasn’t a terry fabric, did you actually hoop that one in the hoop since it isn’t bulky? Thanks!!
Yes, the thinner fabric we did hoop. The fluffy fabric we used the perfect stick.
Love this video. Thank you for all the helpful information! What machine is this?
Carmen was sewing on the Brother Luminaire XP2
Thank you for the video. I am going to embroider some towels for a golfer. My question is…using the tear away in the back, what is the easiest way to get all the paper off? I don’t want any of the paper showing when I get done. Thank you for any help.
If you use a wash-away stabilizer, you can remove all of it with just a bit of water, leaving nothing behind.
I had to laugh when you said to check the tightness of the embroidery foot. Guess how I know that's good advice ? lol. TY for excellent lesson.
We try to make all the mistakes and share them with you so you don't have to make them too! Thanks for watching.
hi Thank you for the great tutorial. I am always questioning which stabilizer to use. I have all of the stabilizers you used. I was told to use cut away for towels because they are washed so often. I have been using multiple layers for more dense designs. The problem is the back of the towel is so stiff. Do you always use tear away? Do you every need to use several layers of tear away or is one layer enough? the store I purchased my Floriani stabilizer told me to use cut away for towels. do you ever have trouble with the designs on the towels curling up after multiple washings? Thank you I am new and would appreciate any help you could give me.
Here are some ideas for you. Use Wet and Gone on the back. This will work like a cutaway but will wash out when laundered. If you need extra stability, consider using a layer for Stitch and Wash. Some of the fibers will wash out, but the remaining ones will maintain stability. Always use a topper to control the knap. Hope this helps! Happy Sewing.
This might be a little late but any particular threads that you like best? Do you use embroidery thread in the bobbin also or just a coordinated color sewing thread in the bobbin?
We love to use pre-wound bobbins in the same color thread as the top stitching color www.qualitysewing.com/quilters-select-40-bobbin-set.html
Hello....do you use tender touch for the back? I know that the tear away will eventually fall off with the washes.....Some use Tender touch on the back.....Let me know please
When doing the towels we used the perfect stick tearaway stabilizer and nothing else on the back. We do use a heat and gone topper for the front but nothing "extra" on the back. Thanks!
😊
How do you preserve the stabilizer once it is opened? Will it dry out or not for the stabilizers used in the video?
You can just keep your stabilizer on the roll. We usually organize them with colored slap bands to keep track of the type of stabilizer since they all look a lot alike. Nothing special for storage is required. If you have a wet & gone you will want to be sure you store it in a dry place. Typically keeping them on a shelf or rack on your sewing room works great.
Does the top stabilizer leave any residue on your iron? I use a heat press or a cricut press
It won't leave any residue as you tear away the topper after the stitching is complete. What is left of the topper is under the stitches of the embroidery design so it will not come into contact with your iron.
Dry iron, or with steam? Are you going to feature the new colorful toppers as a Sew Fun product soon?
You can find the color keep topping here www.qualitysewing.com/embroidery-color-keep-topping.html
Are those terry cloth? Bathroom towels? Where did you purchase them Carmen....what kind are they??? thank you for video
I purchased the white bath hand towels for the pumpkin and monogram from Target. The kitchen style towel was made with toweling material that we carry on rolls in the store and then you make the towel, napkins or table runner the size that you want it to be.
What kind of towel are you using? Where did you purchase them? Looking for a white towel without a thick pile to use in the kitchen.

Hi Carmen, does cut away come in black? I have a few black towels I’d like to do.
Yes it does. You can find it here www.qualitysewing.com/floriani-power-mesh-onyx.html
Thank you. Is that the sticky one like you used in the video?
Can you recommend where to purchase those towels? Thanks!
We purchased the towels for this project from Target.

What did you set your tension at?
We did not adjust the tension.
What type of needle did you use?
A standard Embroidery 80 usually does the trick! Make sure to use a topper.
What machine do you have?
We used the Brother Luminaire 2 (XP2) in this video: www.qualitysewing.com/brother-luminaire-innov-is-xp2-sewing-quilting-embroidery-machine.html
what brother machine is this please

Like the and have been learning. Thank You The dang phone ringing in the background ihas got to go s so distracting. I keep missing things and have to rewind.
Thank you for your feedback. We have recently created a studio so we have less background noise. We hope you enjoy our How Do I videos and appreciate your feedback.
Answer the dang phones!
You talk sooo fast!!!!
Right, my head was spinning. Take a breath, we will wait for you lol
Your video went wonky
We are sorry that there was a spot in the video that had some problems. Hopefully this video was still helpful for you.
Thankyou for your video and experience but what a shame you’re not able to have a quiet place to record. The background noise is extremely distracting and you’re practically shouting to be heard above their talking and doorbell noise. I persevered as I value your advice, but this isn’t ideal for quality video production and I won’t subscribe until you have a more suitable space for your work. Thankyou again but that must have been extremely frustrating for you too.
This was one of our early videos when we were just getting started. We have been lucky enough to build a studio so our videos are all very quiet. Check out our How Do I series.
