Man I like it! no commentary just work. No talking for one hour. You tighten this bolt to 50ft pound and then you go over there and there will be a bolt over here. Just perfect man keep it up.
Ive just done my VW 1.4 with the help of your video, that was simple compared to tgis, i have to do Civic, so fingers crossed. Im sure its not gonna be as easy as you make it look... great video ta..
Hey man 4 hours your an animal that will take me like 4 days and blood sweat and tears. I saw on another video the guy wanting to support the engine but you didint seem to care and had it hanging
Just got a clutch kit for mine but the pressure plate fingers are a bit uneven. Maximum by 2mm. Do you know if it's normal/will it affect anything? Nice vid btw.
Is this method easier than removing the air filter etc, I know you could probably do it with your eyes shut but I'm wondering for the average bloke who fancies doing it at home to save money, great video as always.
@@WMCS Yes I've seen that video as well ( I watch all your videos) but just asking your opinion regarding the Civic, it looks like your almost working blind without removing the air box, battery tray etc, keep up the great work .
Do you need to drop the transmission from the bottom if you want to remove the engine? I've got to replace my r18a motor (rod knocking) , but I don't want to drop the transmission if I don't have to. Is there enough clearance to separate the motor from the transmission in the engine bay and just pull the motor out of the top? I've seen people do it with automatics, but not sure if it will work on a standard transmission.

There is no spring inside it’s purely hydraulic pressure The rod sits in a cup held in by a C clip. If it leaks then it’s faulty and needs replacing. Hope that helps.
Been watching this video over ready to do my clutch on my 2008 civic 2.0 type R. Can i ask you please whats all the little red blobs of grease u put in all the holes for bolts in gearbox before puttin it back on? Is the grease hi temp grease and whats the purpose of putting it in all those holes?? Thanks
J T it’s red rubber grease. It’s in the hole where the gearbox bolts gonna go. It’s to prevent oxidisation. A preventative measure to stop the seizing up. But most importantly on the gearbox shaft. To stop the clutch plate rusting on the spline which is a cause of premature wear on the clutch system.
@@WMCS yes i knew to put high temp grease on the input shaft spline, thx very much for replying. Great video. Took me ages to find a good and simple to follow video. Great work.
i was done at removing both sides drive shafts , way to much to undo on these. They do look well built though, also excellent vids by the way. It would be really useful to add mileage on these videos.
Great video brother. Please can you give me the part number for that exedy clutch and will that clutch fit my 2010 6speed face lift of the car you working on? Mine is an fk2. Thanx
Can’t quite remember. I’ve got a Type R petrol in a couple of weeks. I’ll make another repair video and zoom on the pilot bearing if there’s one. Stay tuned.

I'm also a friend of removing as few parts as possible, but two screws from the air filter box would have made life a lot easier . nice work man
This has to be the best how-to video of a transmission removal. Super well done!

How did the slave cylinder not leak when you removed it, the spring inside it should slowly push the cylinder out of it :/

Hi mate, would this be a similar process for a 2008 2.2 diesel?
I’ve just done one this week. I’ve got another 2.2 next week. I will film the repair. It’s quite different to the petrol.

About 4hrs

4 hours for Kevin , for me it took 2 days , it is a lot of work.
Is there a pilot bearing inside the flywheel?
Yes. They’re mounted in the DMF
