    I've been watching you since the very beginning when you literally only had $10 to put toward your debt snowball at the end of a paycheck and you had a whole page worth of debt. I'm so proud of you! You are doing so amazing!!

    • @erikalifevlogs
      @erikalifevlogs  5 років тому +15

      I almost break into tears every time I remember those day,, Im just glad that I never stopped and made those $10 develop into the snowball it is now. Thank you for supporting my journey all this time!

    It's not that debt follows you. It's that you invited it into your life, and it'll hang around till you kick it in the butt forever! On a side note: I love your handwriting!

    I just started watching your UA-cam channel but you're the UA-camr that has officially kick-started me into wanting to budget out my life. I slowly started watching Dave Ramsey's videos but you make it easier to understand for some reason. I'm going video by video, setting up my budget planner to get started for August and I'm super excited!

    Since some of those balances are so similar, I would do either the highest interest or the one which annoys/bothers you the most.
    I paid off one of my CC "out of order" for the snowball, but it was the card/company which just frankly pissed me off the most. Felt so good to get rid of that annoyance and gave me a boost and more motivation to knock out the rest of the debts.

    • @erikalifevlogs

    Wow we started at the same amount, and both have around the same amount left. Mine is all student loan debt, so the snowball is slow rolling. I remember when you first started and you have been killing it👏🏾

    I’m super, super proud of you. I remember getting heart failure at the number of credit cards you had. Now due your hard work look at where you are. Keep up the good work. Much better over $34,000. Good job.
    Question: Does that $200 include the other paid off cards minimums? That’s how a true snowball work; adding that to the B of A credit card minimum then anything else you have to throw at it.

  • @budgetingwithaly3974
    @budgetingwithaly3974 5 років тому

    That is definitely an amazing amount to be down on your debt! Keep on working and I'm sure you'll knock out those smaller debts in the next few months!!!! You, as well as some other youtubers are my motivation for 1. my debt free journey (because my debts are so large, so I can't really celebrate small wins so instead I do them for you in these types of videos) and 2. starting my own channel. I actually was motivated by seeing your videos as well as some other channel's videos so that I would have accountability.

    Dave Ramsey recommends to attack one debt then move to the next one from smallest to the largest. Good Job. Keep going.

    • @MMyers-mh4jq
      @MMyers-mh4jq 5 років тому

      Dave recommendation is the pay minimum on all cards as you can’t not pay your card payment.. but you are suppose to snowball the one payment into the next to gain momentum with how you are paying so say she has 3 cc payments $900.00,$2000, and $3000 she pay more on her 900$ card first with the minimum being on the other two

Hahahaha but back to what I was saying....was inspiring to hear you talk about what your debt money could be going to. Huge eye opener. Weve all gotta take ownership of our debt own up to it. Learn from it. And better. Congrats girl!

    • @erikalifevlogs
      @erikalifevlogs  5 років тому +1

      It really depends who is watching. To me its 13k less of what I initially have you see it as a beginning start which can deplete all hope. Whereas I see it as pure motivation to keep going.

      erika_ lifevlogs i did see it was more than what you have in this video. I like to write down what i have left so it keeps me centered in paying stuff off. Not to mention i keep telling myself that my job isnt there forever so i have to take advantage and save up right after being debt free. Keep going at it and hopefully we get to the finish line sooner than expected.

      Student loans was my first introduction to debt. Then seeing roommates having their own personal credit cards in college had me wondering why I didnt have one so I started applying for every card I could get - ( the mall! 🙈) Best tip dont fall into keeping up with your roommates or friends!
