LT 3rd Gen & SAS 2nd Gen at Calico

- A couple weeks ago we had a few hours to burn after our shock tuning appointment with King in Barstow (it was a good day!). So we decided to hit up Calico since it was just down the highway a few exits. Taylor (being relatively new to CA) had never been to Calico so we figured what better way to show him around than to do Doran loop in reverse. Because going up the shelf steps (“waterfalls” as they’re called) is way more fun than going down.

Siiick second gen. I’m the only second gen in my group of yota guys, everyone has 3rd gens. I love to see sexy second gens. Nice builds guys

Nice! i have a 3rd gen i took to calico this year and i only did the nearby rainbow basin loop cause i still have stock suspension and 31s! Wish i could do more tricky stuff like this but i don't have a few grand lying around for a proper lift and tires :D The trail i did was prettier than this though! i highly recommend it Lol

How much lift is on the 3rd gen and are those 35’s?
Clement C I’m not sure on the lift to be honest, but if I had to guess probably 4in or so. The tires are metric equivalent 35s 👍
Very cool but for that money and work I'd do a engine swap first to that 2nd gen!

scott petrie depends on what you’re rolling over! Haha
scott petrie when we were in Barstow and hitting the sand and whoops we left Taylor way behind, for obvious reasons. When we came over to Calico in the rocks neither of us had any issues getting up any obstacles or getting stuck etc. There was one spot (the last obstacle filmed in the video) where Taylor took a more flexy line than I did, but otherwise he just trailed behind me taking all the same lines. Good times
Opt Off Road good stuff. I have 4th gen and really contemplating the SAS.
3rd gens are better they look like the hilux surf
