I’m 16 and I have a 2nd gen and I’m in the process of doing the 3.4 swap for mine and I’m definitely getting the total chaos kit for mine in the future but I was wondering what is best to do for the back. Did you convert it to a 4 link or something like that? I wanna make sure it’ll handle some woops and some minor crawling
This video was crazy!😂😂 I’m informed and stress relaxed. I’ve never seen a Toyota mod video and felt so at ease, at the same time!😂 4runner looks beast!
Awesome video guys! Really loving the detail oriented content so far! You mentioned that the kit uses T100 CV axles. How much stronger if at all are they than the stock shafts? Also what are the specs on the 4Runner? Still single case? What rear axle? Gears and Lockers?
Thanks brother! As far as strength goes on the CV's, I haven't broken one yet, and they are just NAPAs since Toyota doesn't make them anymore. But they are holding up great so far! It's just a longer 4Runner CV, which is why they work for the kit. It's still got the single chain driven case and the stock rear axle. I regeared it to 5.29 and it has an Eaton Elocker in the rear with a front to match soon!
Hey man thanks for the video! Two quick questions. 1. How are the axles holding up? 2. What spring rate did you go with and which fox coils are these? 8” travel 2.5 dia?
I love how detailed y’all did this video and gave me an idea of how the hoops go before you weld. Supper clean set up. What was the cost of kit and shocks??
Awesome runner. I would love to see another video of this rig wheeling, maybe some information on what tire size you are running, maybe any issues with the kit, etc. Also, how does it handle on the road?? I am consodering this kit over doing a solid axle conversion because it is different and looks pretty capable. Any information is appreciated! Thanks!
He's running 35x12.5R15 Mickey Thompson Baja Pro's on Trail Ready beadlocks. So far no issues with the kit itself. Couple broken idler arms but he's since gone Total Chaos on that. Michael daily drives this thing and loves how it handles on the street
Great video mate. I'm having an issue with my steering- stock steering idler sucks and keeps breaking I have a 2nd gen hilux surf - any recommendations or videos on steering upgrades?
He's broken a couple OE units. Ended up getting a Total Chaos idler arm. It wasn't cheap but he hasn't had an issue in years ua-cam.com/video/Z-BYDP_vQN0/v-deo.html&si=jhQuTeB7dzuNiquA
You guys gonna upgrade the brakes and lines? Awesome job on that install. I have a 3rd gen and didn't realize that the 2nd had TB's. Are you guys doing this for work now or just for youtube?
Oh the kit actually comes with extended front brake lines but I had already installed extended brake lines front and rear before I got the kit. The brakes themselves are actually really good! I have no issue locking up 35s rn. And yes we've had our shop for just over a year. So far so good!
@@treehouseoffroadI’m pretty much doing the same. Currently make a living building custom jeeps but I’m a Toyota guy lol I personally got a 2016 4Runner I’m trying to build out
Never heard him mention this happening. I also have a LT Toyota with no flares and I haven't had this issue either. Water? Mud? Sand? Absolutely, but no rocks oddly enough 🤷🏼♂️
We'll do an in-depth walkaround soon but he's running 2" ext res Fox Factory Race shocks w/12" stroke. They are mounted outboard the frame with a custom kit he built, and paired with Eibach +2" pro-lift coils. He also did a panhard drop bracket and runs 2" spacers to match the front width
@@treehouseoffroadya buying the same kit after watching this talked with them the other day. just need to figure out rear to leet it level. was thinking about freelgood rear shock relocations but there for a 1996 not a 1995 looking forward to seeing full walk around soon

Hey buddy I forgot to ask you did you put bigger gears which I'm pretty sure you did but what size did you go up to on your Sequoia.. I went 4:88 can you grow any bigger than that?
@@treehouseoffroad when they built it they went with 4.88 I wish they would have put 5.29s I thought they didn't because 5.29s wouldn't fit. I'm going to have to ask him about that LOL
He never clarified that with me he just said he was going to see if he could go if they wouldn't fit he would do 4.88s but they have the power I need it crawls like a tank. I haven't really done too much challenging stuff yeah a little bit but I need to RCV axles and get skid row skid plates still.
@@treehouseoffroad I think the one reason why it crawls like a tank and goes through everything I put it through like it's nothing is because of the front and rear lockers. I call that beast mode LOL
Negative. It actually does much better on the rocks/trails than the whoops, we've tried both. It could be a desert runner if it had bypasses or at the very least bump stops
I have the same rig with with long arms and a supercharged 3.4 swap. The 2nd gen is such an underrated truck!
Very underrated I agree
More footage of your buddy’s 2nd gen, please and thanks very much 🙏😂❤️

That's a pretty sick 4Runner.

Step 1: put it together

Gotta do it man it completely transforms the vehicle!

Napa CV axles and he's never had an issue with them
600 lb springs and you're dead on with the coilovers

@@treehouseoffroad can you post the part number for the coilovers you used? Thank you so much!
@@elitemobileautoelectric7782 The coilovers were spec'd by JD Fab and purchased with the kit, so you'll have to reach out to them

U.S. Wheel Style 78. 15x8, 6x5.5 lug pattern, 2.5 inch backspace. Discontinued and very hard to find

He runs 2" spacers in the rear
I don't actually know the answer to that

600 I believe

What bullbar is that?
Trail gear stinger bumper if I recall correctly
