    I like the ease of changing bits, the adjustable handle, the heavy duty case with storage for bits, and the two batteries and charger for more work time

    would really like to see a drill only selector, im in the milwuakee lineup but dewalt has it on their sds drill could be useful for drilling steel in a pinch or when you have steel and conncrete sandwiched together

    I like that the SDS max comes with a 9.0 batteries. It looks like a beast of a tool. I like how you guys show the tool action as well. #workshopaddict

    The next size model up 1 3/4" 2718-20 seems like that would be the one to buy except it costs more at $750. Vs $450 for the 2717-20

    Is the 2718 a newer version of the same hammer drill? If so, what improvements have been made to the new version?

    9 amp battery is boss, the only thing better is my new 12 amp battery... I roughed in a whole 4 bathroom house including groundworks cuts with a single 12 amp battery ( used a cordless hole hawg and a m 18 fuel hackzall ) all holes and cuts.... did not even drain the whole battery, still had 1 bar on it.

    I like that it's a SDS MAX battery operated. Not sure if there's any competition at this size and cordless. #WorkshopAddict

    can i keep it chipping concrete for over 60 minutes without any stop except changing batterys?

      The tool does not get warm, so it should have no issue with that.

    • @AndrewBrowner

      the fuel brushless motors can go all day, if you have a few batterys and acouple chargers just keep swapping.. be careful with their lower end brushed motors though if you run a full battery through them under heavy load and swap in a fresh one theyll tend to let the smoke out

    I wonder if this with a chisel bit could remove a stubborn wheel bearing hub assembly.

    Wish I knew if a new generation Fuel of this model series would come out in 2019. I think this is pretty old. Circ saws and drills have been replaced with new Fuel gens sooner. I know their larges and newest cordless will come out in January 2019. But that is way too big for 99% of jobs.

      @@TheJakobLott Plus and Max have a different diameter bit head. I believe Bosch has a unit that will take both..... But I am 99.9% sure this one will not.

      Link to current pricing in description. Currently $699.00 but i bet it will come down in price as the 9.0 Ah batteries become a bit more main stream.

  • @JeffBourke
    @JeffBourke 7 років тому

    This tool is a little bit silly.
    Using batteries is more likely to be a hindrance. Not really worth it for the occasional moment when cordless will be useful.
    Also, 9 A.h battery? Having that many cells in parallel means they won't get balanced as well in the charger is just have the standard 2P5S combination.
    I don't think this unit will be hit.

    • @t76d777f6d
      @t76d777f6d 7 років тому

      That's not how it works. All parallel cells are self balancing. All series cell packs must be balanced by a charge controller. Whether 1p, 2p, or 3p, all cells are balanced the same.

  • @TimKollat

    $700 for the M18 Fuel vs $350 for the exact same one but electric. Ill stick with the electric hammer drills for now until the ridiculous price of these cordless tools comes down.
    Im a Milwaukee Fuel fan but I can't justify spending double the price for the same drill just because its cordless
