- I don't know how they did it but Milwaukee made the first cordless SDS Max Rotary Hammer and on the M18 18 Volt system. But how does it perform? Watch as I put it to the test.

I’ve owned a lot of Milwaukee tools and for the most part I am completely satisfied with the performance, however this machine is fairly decent but the 12.0 battery will only last you 20 min or less with consistent breaking, and most of us know sometimes chiseling sessions can last an hour sometimes.. so unless you have 5+ 12.0 battery’s ready to go I would recommend the corded version. -Chicago Plumber
This was an awesome review! Great details and examples of what the capabilities of this tool are. Glad I found this and thanks for taking the time to give an honest and detailed review!
As a concrete repair guy there is no one tool to buy. There are many. Also corded hammers suck the juice 10-15 amps so that every hammer needs its own cord and 15 amp circuit. This doubles if you add dust collection to each tool as each vac also demands its own cord and circuit 15-20 amps110v or even 30 amp 220v. Some times there is just not enough power to go around. This is a great accessory tool to a guy like me who already has all the corded options in each hammer weight.
If you are only going to own one SDS Max hammer make it a corded one. If you need more the one it's great to have a cordless option.
Great information and really good advice, sir. What is your preferred brand when it comes to SDS Maxs?
Hard to believe they've been out for 8 years now.
Liked and subscribed. Wife ordered this for me for Father's Day! Should be here in 2 days. Thanks for the video!
What a great wife! Haha
Another clear and concise thorough review
thank you
You're welcome, thanks for watching
Used one of these a few weeks ago, that package came with a 9.0 and a 5.0 battery for some reason. It was excellent for chipping away some of the footing concrete to get some pvc pipes closer to building for a meter stack. I personally have the 1-1/8 fuel sds+ 2 battery kit and it is awesome as well!! Great review!!
Thanks Tony! Weird yours came with a 5.0 and 9.0. Let the store know and get one with the correct batteries
Very well made video. Very concise/to the point, asks informative. Thank you!
Hi Havir, another great review, keep them coming young man. Kindest regards. Joe.
thanks Joe! I got more on their way

My handle came off could you show or help to get it back on?
Great tool. Thank you. Nice review
thanks Tomas
very nice
Awesome review! I am a flooring guy who does a lot of remodels. So I’m always tearing up tile floors and hardwood floors. Would you recommend this tool for that kind of work?
I've never pulled up hardwood floors so I can't comment on that however I have removed tile a few times and yes this rotary hammer with a spade bit would handle that just fine although because of its size and weight you might be better off using a smaller SDS PLUS rotary hammer like a 1" inch model or so as those do the job just fine but are much smaller and easier to carry for a decent sized job. I'd lean more towards the sds max in this video if you also need to break up concrete and drill larger holes.
Now there’s a 13/4 inch sds max cordless with an anti vibration handle and less kick back has auto stop technology now
Yes, I wrote about it last year October 2018 when it was released toolcraze.net/milwaukee-m18-fuel-1-3-4-sds-max-rotary-hammer-2718-21hd-w-one-key/ . Check out www.toolcraze.net to learn about new Milwaukee items as they are released.
I have to ask you 1 question, it'll be your opinion but it might help me:
I often have to trench concrete floors. I'm presently using a corded Bosch Bulldog.
Takes a while...
I also have to drill large holes through walls from time to time as well as the typical sawzall type activity...
Now for my question:
I've always been a DeWalt guy. But, I've had my DeWalt lock up from water getting into while cutting water pipes. I 've heard the Milwaukee 2721 has been sealed to prevent that.
So, my question is, I only want to carry one battery type.
If you were me, would you invest in DeWalt or Milwaukee? Seems like both brands are pretty close. I like the Milwaukee Hole Hog over the DeWalt unit too.
Still undecided though. I'm looking to buy:
Hammer Drill
SDS Max Rotary Hammer
Sawzall,
Large Angle Drill
Small Right Angle Drill
All on the same battery type.
So, in your own opinion, if you had to drop a ton 'o cash, which brand would you go with?
Sounds to me like you are already leaning toward your decision.
True, I am leaning that way, but with so much REALLY hard earned cash on the line, I was hoping to hear an 'educated' opinion by someone that sees a lot of tools go through their paces. Don't worry, I won't go this way or that just because you said this or that, nor will I hold you in any way responsible if I'm disappointed in my decision.
How could I? It was always mine and mine alone to make.
Like I said, just looking to hear from someone who sees a lot of tools and what brand they would go with using their own money.
Honestly I can't say either way as I haven't tried dewalts flexvolt stuff other than their 12" sliding miter saw (impressive saw by the way!!!). I wouldn't compare Dewalt's 20V system directly to what Milwaukee currently offers for M18 as you'd have to acquire and supplement with flexvolt tools to fill in the gaps the 20V system has to compare to the M18 system, although the 20V system is getting close with more brushless 20V tools on the way.
It's also hard for me to decide as I've concluded that no single cordless power tool line from any brand is perfect. I have cordless tools from most brands and many brands have tools you just wont find on other platforms.
Understood. Yep, no line is perfect, true.
The goal is to have the best overall performance and reliability while using only one battery. Can't have 'battery chaos' on the truck. That just doesn't work in the real world.
One final question I've been wondering is if Milwaukee is planning a M18 flat pack style radio/charge like DeWalt's. That thing looks pretty slick.
I received a list of new tools from Milwaukee and a radio like that one isn't on the list. More info on the website here toolcraze.net/?s=milwaukee+2017
Hey man nice job on the review, does that charger charge any other lower mah M18 batterys an if so does it charge them any quicker than standard charger? Thanks.
Check out my review on the rapid charger here.

I also listed charge times for several batteries
estads como yo,ya quiero arrazar con toda la tienda apenas sale algo y ta lo compras , muy buenos videos. que marca de hereamientas es tu preferida
mis favoritas son bosch, dewalt, makita, y milwaukee
Can you drive grounds down with it?
This tool is awesome but it has its purpose it's not gonna chip all day it's got its uses
can you core 2-6inch holes through mortar n foundation with this? obviously with use of more than one battery?
I don't remember the max core specs for this drill off the top of my head considering it's a video made years ago but I believe I put the specs at the intro as I do with most of my video reviews. You can also google the product specs to find your answer.
can this drill, core a 4 inch concrete hole?
hi, up to 4" core bits, full specs list at 0:15
How effective is this tool in chipping 80 MPA concrete?
only one way to find out
Hi Tool Craze, could you tell me how long I could keep 2717 chipping concrete for without any functional damage to it?
good question, you should send Milwaukee an email
i'd sent one but have yet to get any information from them.
how many holes did it drill with the 5.0 battery?
I didn't test runtime with the 5.0. But if you do the math it got about 4.72 holes per amp hour with the 9.0 so theoretically you may get around 23.6 equal holes drilled with the 5.0 battery, more or less
Tool Craze thanks a ton for the info and keep up the great work on the reviews!
вот это перфик!! класс!!
0:52 "The first cordless SDS max AND the first 18v"??????
Yes first 18v sds max. Can you name another 18v SDS max rotary hammer that came out before this one?
No prende chijame
POS...handle does not tighten the clamp adequately and if you pick up drill by handle it slips away from the clamp and if not careful your expensive drill falls to the ground or farther if you are working from an elevated location.
I didn't have this issue with mine, so it sounds like yours is faulty. I'd return and replace for one that's fine.
@@ToolCraze Thank you...yes, a part has to be missing. Found a diagram of the handle on line and it appears all pieces are in place. Missed Amazon's return window and I have 6 other Milwaukee M18 tools so I would rather get this mystery solved. Unfortunately Milwaukee's web site and support options are very disappointing. All you get is a recording and prompts for self help and promises to email me... obviously customer service is not their strong point :+(.
Third!
sixth!
Bro thanks for the video! The tool is bigger than you though go eat some protein !!!
