Hey guys awesome review Just a heads up to anyone who is in the market for one of these as i couldnt really find much info when i was thinking of buying this Im a plumber so i do alot of new homes and commercial work and im always drilling holes in brick and concrete and its usually always 2 35mm holes 2 32mm holes 4 25 mm holes 3 22 mm holes On a daily basis And im always left with some battery still and it goes through like butter Its straight off the bat noticeable power Its not too heavy like most corded models i realised It fits most sds max brand drill bits out there It has absolutely no kick back at all Its just an overall 12/10 thats how good it is i highly recommend it And its a milwaukee so u know you got an excellent product and warranty life to back you up Hope this info helps
I know it’s been a while but can you comment on it’s chiseling ability? I do subfloor ventilation in Melbourne and install double brick vents frequently, this requires blasting through bricks and I’ve found my fathers 2.7 joule Milwaukee sds plus unit can’t keep up with a corded unit... I’m trying to transition away from any corded tools, any help would be appreciated 👍🏼
Another great vid, chaps, always a pleasure to watch. I agree the DeWalt has it between the two, the higher voltage is so much more efficient. The fact that the DeWalt also does rotary only is a big bonus, it means you can use dry cut diamond core cutters. Keep it up!
Oz Tool Talk , yeah, I've used my 28 Volt and 54 Volt sds plus machines to core out brickwork for extract fans, those are 4" holes, they cope just fine. However, where's the cut off point? Could they all cope with core cutting? Interesting point! Back to work, fellas, you got another six and a half hours hard labour ahead of ya! (Thinking back to the big shoot out )
I would really like to see how this preforms with a two or three inch cup bit. It seems to be a proper beast! I'll be realistic I wouldn't expect allot with a cup bit through concrete or pre-stress roofs but block walls is what I would be interested in!
Wish i had a use for this haha! I barely use the capabilities of my SDS plus unit (makita DHR242) Mainly doing 8 or 10mm holes for Dynabolts mounting TV mounts or those folding washing lines etc.
Absolutely solid review and explanation throughout as always chaps. What's the standalone cost of the 9.0ah Milwaukee battery in the most popular stores in AUS? Cheers.
Oz Tool Talk Wow that's a lot. High power battery backs (5ah, 6ah, 9ah) are beginning to be as profitable for tool manufacturers as the tools themselves. The 3000mah 3.7v 18650 lion batteries in these (15 inside the casing in total) are about $2US a piece when bought in 1000+ piece batches and the safety circuitry is already purpose built at about $5 a piece. There is very little innovation the dewalt and makitas need to do after the factories provide the parts... Aftermarket battery companies are slowly gaining traction around the world as they can undercut the huge margins quite easily.
[Dwain] Hey Ryan. I'm interested in your take on this, but it doesn't 'ring true' for me. Are the 3000mAh cells you speak of the same ones that the companies are actually using (e.g. Sanyo/Panasonic 20A / 25A output)?
Oz Tool Talk yep... The most common ones are the Sony vct6, lg hg2 and Samsung 30q for 3000mah cells. All will be available at those prices when a huge manufacturer like Milwaukee places an order of say 10k cells and those batteries are the high drain versions capable of 20amps continuous which is what the cells require...
we have 3 at our company. abuse the heck out of them. they run 20 ish minutes of hard use without overheating, longer if you swap battery as soon as it loses one bar (half dead). keep them well greased. gotta warm them up in cold weather to get them to hammer.
POS...handle does not tighten the clamp adequately and if you pick up drill by handle it slips away from the clamp and if not careful your expensive drill falls to the ground or farther if you are working from an elevated location.
J T ...sorry your wrong ...the Dewalt sds max 1 7/8” at 13.3 j beats anything on the market....the COP video is the older model...Makita is always third behind Dewalt and Milwaukee
Hey guys awesome review
Just a heads up to anyone who is in the market for one of these as i couldnt really find much info when i was thinking of buying this
Im a plumber so i do alot of new homes and commercial work and im always drilling holes in brick and concrete and its usually always
2 35mm holes
2 32mm holes
4 25 mm holes
3 22 mm holes
On a daily basis
And im always left with some battery still and it goes through like butter
Its straight off the bat noticeable power
Its not too heavy like most corded models i realised
It fits most sds max brand drill bits out there
It has absolutely no kick back at all
Its just an overall 12/10 thats how good it is i highly recommend it
And its a milwaukee so u know you got an excellent product and warranty life to back you up
Hope this info helps

[Dwain] ah yeah, damond core cutting, forgot about that in the review! Do the cordless rotary hammers have the torque for large core drilling?

Great review guys. The milwaukee looks an awful lot slower that the Hilti Te 30- 36v sds plus drill, how did it feel compared to the Hilti?
[Dwain] hey Paddy! Have you seen our comparison? ua-cam.com/video/hbvR--SDW_g/v-deo.html

[Dwain] haha yes, this would be a hindrance rather than help for 10mm holes ;)
